The only issue I have with it is that it won’t let me change the size of the caption box. I want to make my caption box a little small smaller, so it doesn’t get covered up by other parts of the video, but it looks it can be only one size. ### 5/5 — Great Captions *2026-04-12, version 1.1.7* The app is great, but please add the ability to add a shadow to the back of the stroke. ### 4/5 — Caption boxes are too wide *2026-04-12* I love the simplicity of this app. Being able to generate captions quickly is awesome, but we need to be able to resize them to fit the screen. When I used cap cut it would take a long time to do the subtitles and editing the words to be correct resulted in it being out of sync and not highlighting the key words anymore. With this app I can edit it word by word, no effect whatsoever on the final result but the funny thing is I didn’t have to edit it at all. I can edit the font size, colors, how it’s highlighted and more. I love this app! Thank you, a game changer for shorts! I used to use another app that’s twice this price and also editing the words resulted in a huge disappointment, it would be out of sync and impossible to fix. This is my new go to. Quite basic application. Luckily FCP just got a captions add on (just in time!). Most videos won’t load into the project screen, and there are no error messages to explain why. Sometimes I see a video outline with a spinning loading icon, but nothing ever happens. I’ve tried uninstalling and reinstalling the app, but the issue still persists and the videos that act like they are loading come up again as if they are stuck there. ### 1/5 — Doesn’t work *2026-04-07* The app doesn’t seem to work for me. I pick a video and press the continue button. Then I just wait. No progress bar. No indication anything is happening. The captions are accurate, the interface is simple to use, and it helps me create polished videos without spending hours editing. So many features of this are made easy, and easy to sensibly design. Especially if presets work for you. I tend not to use them but in a time crunch, amazing and we'll considered. Not sure if I have a personal favorite, but I would have to say that a seemingly simple thing for the spell checker/editor in me does it; being able to edit individual words for spelling or emphasis (adding an exclamation point, for instance, to match my intonation, or change to all caps) while scrolling the captions (quickly, and with haptics, excellent!). Seems simple but for me, it's perfect. A BUNCH of nice little touches like this in the interface. Ability to color for definition from background and scene as well as to place for this is excellent. And the best thing is, they will just keep updating with useful small touches as time goes on. Very responsive team. Being able to place different sections of the captions in different areas of the frame as the frame changes is my big ask, but they may be working on that already, or I maybe just haven't found it yet. Still exploring. It solidly and quickly does the job. ### 5/5 — Excellent Automatic Video Captions *2026-04-12* I just tried the app, and it works great for adding subtitles to videos. I find it fast, intuitive, very easy to use, and very comprehensive. Right now, videos can be exported in 1080p, but that’s enough for me. The best part is that I can add subtitles in the language the video is recorded in, and I’ve found practically no errors in the subtitles. Plus, there are lots of options for improving the font.
