### 3/5 — All good things locked

*2026-02-03, version 5.0.0*

I really like this app but when you go to redeem your rewards, all the good items are locked unless you get multiple people to download the app and actually use it. I understand wanting referrals but it’s not a good way to do it. I stopped using the app for a while because none of my friends wanted to download it or use it so I was out of any reward I wanted. What a bummer.

### 4/5 — Rewarding

*2026-02-02, version 5.0.0*

Nice to help incentivize workouts. Sometimes rips me off on intensity minutes. Wish they did a better job measuring that and defining it

### 3/5 — Room for Improvement

*2026-01-08, version 5.0.0*

I find the app hard to navigate and find what it is you’re looking for. Everything from the feed, to the challenges and your goals looks very similar. I love the companies that are offering rewards, but most are locked or no longer available.

### 4/5 — Works fine. Getting rewards seems like a pain and some locked behind referral requirements

*2025-10-17, version 4.2.1*

The app works well with the fitness device, and I think if you’re using it for training for something like a marathon, it would be great. For general use and encouragement to move after sitting at a desk all day, maybe not for most. Rewards outside of NYC that I could use and I would want you need referrals, but I wouldn’t refer it to my friends/family since they would want to use the same ones and thus need to send three referrals. Referrals require intensity minutes which I feel aren’t great (documentation says that you need about 115 bpm). Even if I do the same workout on a treadmill, at the same speed, longer workouts will have less than some shorter workouts. This also makes the challenges/tracks a bit of a pain to match (even with a week to do them). If I’ve done an hour treadmill and it only gives 10 minutes of intensity, but 45 are needed for the challenge, I won’t get back on to do another workout to meet the challenge. The next day I might get 45, the next I might get 3. Overall it works, if you’re using it just to keep track of workouts past your regular fitness app. It’s fine, but I think it’s meant for people who are training for something more seriously than just making sure they get up and move after work

### 5/5 — The best

*2025-10-15, version 4.2.1*

Receipts is hand down the best fitness app! It helped keep me motivated to and drop 75lbs postpartum all while helping to fund my new workout clothes! 12/10 recommend!

### 5/5 — Earn Points for Working out

*2025-09-14, version 4.1.0*

It’s so exciting to get points a rewards for doing the workouts I was already planning to do!

### 5/5 — Motivation, verified

*2025-09-12, version 4.1.0*

Keeping my streaks going has been motivating in its own right. Layering in rewards for doing so on top of that just doubles down on it. As a data nerd, I love the underlying premise of validating workouts - having easy ways to share my Proof of Workout makes it fun to “show my receipts”!

### 5/5 — Rewarded for getting active 😍

*2025-09-09, version 4.1.0*

I love gift cards

### 5/5 — So fun!

*2025-09-07, version 4.1.0*

Such a fun interactive app and I love the idea of this!

### 5/5 — Receipts for the win

*2025-09-06, version 4.1.0*

Love the Receipts app. What’s better than getting rewarded for clocking miles?! The streaks feature helps keep me accountable too.

### 5/5 — Underrated

*2025-09-02*

Love everything that Receipts is about. Small team with a big vision.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Lost All My Points

*2026-07-26, version 6.1.1*

I had 8,000 points from my intensity minutes. Now the app made some change to a puck system where the check-ins are literally on the other side of the U.S. Now I have 459 points. I’m extremely disappointed as I was really excited to claim my rewards. It feels like all my hard work went to nothing. I’m going to make the switch to another app because this app is so disappointing.

### 1/5 — Not happy of the switch

*2026-07-15, version 6.1.1*

Now I don’t know how to redeem my points. You went to this “check-in” system. There is not a “check-in” thing within at least 1000 miles from my location. I just want the point system back.

### 1/5 — Update ruined it

*2026-06-27, version 6.1.0*

Having to “tap in” at physical locations ruined the app. They are all hundred of miles away from me. Deleted it and moving on

### 1/5 — update ruined the app

*2026-06-19, version 6.1.0*

not sure if too many people actually work out and were cashing in but only having a select few places to “check in” at in certain areas is just dumb. you’re now being asked to do actual work to log your workouts instead of before when you just had to.. work out.

### 1/5 — Great concept, poor execution

*2026-04-16, version 6.0.0*

I haven’t gotten my gift card for signing up. Most rewards are locked unless you refer more people to sign up. The rewards that are available aren’t that good or desirable. And to top it off- points are capped at 150 per week. I hit that in a day and a half and can’t earn more. The FAQ says that it doesn’t sell your data but why does the privacy section on the app page say it collects all of your personal data, contacts, and “sensitive data” if that’s the case? This seems like a scam.

### 1/5 — Better have 4 friends or a pyramid scheme

*2026-03-29, version 5.0.0*

To get about any reward you have to referrals. Isn’t about fitness it’s a marketing app. Big thumbs down

### 1/5 — Limited devices

*2025-12-18, version 5.0.0*

Not compatible with Suunto

### 1/5 — Basically useless out side of NYC

*2025-09-16, version 4.1.0*

Almost all of the rewards are really only available in NY. The national gift cards only unlock with referrals which changed after signing up. Basically useless

### 1/5 — Doesn’t work

*2025-09-10, version 4.1.0*

Won’t sync with my Apple Watch

### 1/5 — Pernickety App and Requirements

*2025-08-11, version 4.1.0*

Some workouts count one day with intensity minutes, then the same class/workout don’t count other days with the required intensity minutes. Shows on my fitness app and bpm, but won’t connect to your app. Also had a reward unlock went to use it, didn’t receive it. Now my same reward is locked this week bc I didn’t do the “streak” even though every week I meet my minutes and beyond. It’s be more of an irritating, inconsistent game than an incentive program to workout.

### 5/5 — Newfound Motivation

*2026-02-17, version 5.0.0*

This app has recently helped me to regain some extra motivation to do exercise. Getting to earn points that I can redeem towards gift cards is super fun and doing “tracks” with my partner to help keep each other motivated has been awesome! This app has got me doing things I’ve never thought myself capable of like running 20 miles in one week! Highly recommend!

### 5/5 — Best new fitness app

*2026-02-14, version 5.0.0*

Love the motivation tactics that receipts uses to get you to work out and even increase how much you work out every week.

I enjoy the team tracks where I can complete challenges with my friend. And the best part, getting gift cards in reward for my hard work!

Highly recommend checking it out

### 5/5 — Great motivation

*2026-02-03, version 5.0.0*

This app is great for motivating you to complete more workouts or finish stronger and harder to earn those intensity minutes. The reward system is fantastic so not only do you work on yourself but you also can redeem points for gift cards and other rewards. Additionally, the team based tracks that have recently rolled out are a lot of fun.

### 5/5 — Best in its category!

*2026-01-04, version 5.0.0*

Love this app!

### 5/5 — BAOAT

### 5/5 — Motivation creation

*2025-10-24, version 4.2.1*

This app does a very good job of generating momentum for each individual user by promoting competition, health and rewards.

### 5/5 — Earning bragging rights + points!

*2025-10-17, version 4.2.1*

Love this app. Such an ingenious idea! You’re already doing the work - why not incentivize yourself to continue & commit to it. Don’t wait, the drops are 🔥and won’t wait for you!

### 5/5 — Great!

*2025-10-16, version 4.2.1*

Has helped me stay motivated during my workouts! Hoping to be able to redeem the Nike gift card soon with the points I’ve earned!

### 5/5 — The future of fitness

*2025-10-16, version 4.2.1*

Really cool app that rewards you for being active. I’m always checking this app for new drops and to find some leaderboard motivation
