## What is ReceiptSnap by Roam?

Every receipt saves as a file you actually control. 2026-04-25 Coles Groceries 87.40 AUD.jpg. Or your own pattern: vendor first, ISO date, dot-separated, custom tokens — your call.

That's the standout feature. Most receipt apps trap your scans behind a search box in someone else's cloud. ReceiptSnap saves them as named JPGs on your device, in a folder you can open, share, sort, and hand to your accountant. You own the files.

WHY ON-DEVICE MATTERS

The receipts you keep are a record of where you've been, what you've bought, and how much you've spent. ReceiptSnap treats that as private by default. The OCR runs on your iPhone using Apple's Vision framework. The images live in your iCloud-backed app data — they are never uploaded to a ReceiptSnap server, because there is no ReceiptSnap server.

No analytics. No tracking. No ad SDKs. No "share for a discount". No business tier we're trying to upsell you to.

Tag each receipt Personal or Business, and flag anything tax deductible. Add your own tags for whatever else you track, like fuel, travel or a client.

Filter your library by classification or tag to find what you need in a tap.

BAS and EOFY archives now carry classification and tags in index.csv alongside GST and ABN, and you can export just the business or deductible receipts instead of everything.

### 1.3.2 — 2026-07-16

• Smarter GST detection — now reads many more receipt layouts, including receipts that print the GST label and its amount on separate lines.
• New: the vendor's ABN is read from the receipt (checksum-verified) and included in BAS & EOFY exports, with an editable ABN field on the confirm and edit screens for older receipts.
• Fixed a rare currency mix-up where handwriting on a receipt could cause it to be read as Japanese Yen.

• BAS & EOFY exports now include the GST amount for every receipt — read automatically from the receipt, with an editable GST field on the confirm screen and on saved receipts so you can back-fill older scans.
• Export archives are dramatically smaller (typically 10–20×): images are downsized for the archive while your stored originals stay untouched. A full-resolution option is available on the export screen.
• The export screen now shows how many receipts fall in the selected quarter or financial year before you build the archive.
• Better vendor detection on parking receipts.

• ReceiptSnap now reads the printed receipt number and uses it to spot duplicates — even when a re-scan reads the total differently
