## What is Recence?

Search your large Markdown vault on iOS device — without syncing everything.

Recence is a read-only reader that turns a selection of your Markdown notes (for example from Obsidian) into a lightweight on-device database for fast search and viewing on iOS device.

To use Recence with your own notes, you need Recence Exporter for Mac. It converts an Obsidian or other Markdown vault into Recence data and syncs it to your iOS device. Recence Exporter will be available separately on the Mac App Store.

- No full vault sync. Only the notes and images you choose are imported.
- No plugins to load, so it stays fast and light.
- Plain search plus an AND / OR / NOT query builder.
- Optional on-device AI search finds related notes even with different wording. Note contents are never sent to a third-party AI service.
- Capture ideas as Markdown drafts in the Inbox, then import them into Obsidian later with the Mac exporter.
- Export notes to PDF and share them.
- Optionally protect notes with Face ID, Touch ID, or your passcode.

Recence does not provide diagnosis, treatment, or medical decision-making for any notes it displays, including medical notes. It is only an aid to view, search, and review your own notes.

Recence requires the companion Recence Exporter on Mac to export your own Markdown notes for iOS device.
