The photos are not needed. Please add a list option. And it would be nice to be able to order the cookbooks manually so I can put my favorites at the top. Kinda clunky right now. I really haven’t used the program that much but I’m giving it 5 stars because of the support I received from Pam. The big issue was bringing over my recipes. The cost to do did seem a bit pricey after paying for an annual subscription. But that’s not all. Cook’n has a great Support Service that makes the entire experience truly great. I have been using it for over 15-20 years and it’s the only one that I will use. I had issues with my computer and had to erase and uninstall the Cook’n program and then could not get it. reinstalled on my PC and contacted Pam. She signed into my computer and spent over six hours trying to get it reloaded and could not do it the first day so she came back the next morning and went back to work. She then loaded the latest version onto my laptop and then went to my PC and loaded the latest version on it. They are both working excellent now. Pam went way beyond what she needed to and I am so grateful for that. I cannot say enough about how much this employee is an asset to your company. I highly recommend Cook’n to anybody who wants to have a recipe program on their computer computers. ### 5/5 — Cook’n is the best *2026-07-10, version 40.4.9* i honestly can’t recommend this app enough. Easy to search all the cookbooks for recipes. Had master cook for years and then switched to Cook’n and well pleased with it. Had a problem with capturing recipes on my iMac and Pam and Dan worked back and forth with me to solve my problem. They would not give up until I was up and going, so cannot say enough for their support! Before this update it was so seamless to copy a recipe from online and paste it directly into the app. Because of this update, the format to every recipe I have is messed up, and requires me to manually input every single ingredient instead of just copy and paste. This has turned a usual 1 minute process into 5 minutes of manual input per recipe. I won’t be using Cook’n anymore. ### 1/5 — Holding recipes hostage *2026-08-14, version 41.0.1* Been a free subscriber to this app for over six years. All of a sudden I can’t access my recipes unless I pay $4.99 to download them. I have been storing these for years and now some of our family favorite recipes are gone. This is the worst app ever! ### 1/5 — stopped working *2026-04-06, version 40.4.0* After 2 days and maybe 5 recipes added it just stopped working - would not open and said “no internet” which was not accurate. This app is garbage. There are ads in the suggested recipes feed, if I want that I will go to Pinterest. And they seem to think we want to pay for a social media experience, no thanks. The basic plan does not offer support, why would I pay for an app with no support? Update regarding the developer’s response: I stand by my review re scanning accuracy and support. I have currently scanned over 100 recipes with Recipe Bro and have never had to edit even one, and this even includes handwritten recipes from old recipe cards. For recipes with handwritten notes, it scans the note along with the recipe. Their AI scanning technology is phenomenal. The developer of Cook’n needs to check his competition before being so defensive about the quality of his product. I have no connection to the developers of Recipe Bro. Also, I found two minor bugs when using Recipe Bro and they were very responsive, issuing a fix in less than one day. For a fraction of the price of Cook’n, the support was amazing. ### 1/5 — Very MAGA Friendly *2026-02-04, version 40.3.0* The app is great but I would not recommend any subscription services. I never used it very much but I did have two recipes in this app that I would access every now and then. One of them was pizza dough. I liked this app because I could scale the recipe up and down depending on how many people I was feeding. Well, I just opened this app, because I’m throwing a pizza party, only to find out Cook n’ went to a BS cloud subscription model, but, hey!, you can download your existing recipes locally for $4.99. Thanks for the ransomware, guys. Now my two recipes are gone. DONT USE THIS APP! After pouring hours of work into adding recipes, you're left with the ugliest choices of themes to format your book & out $100+ for the software.. not to mention the cost of the actual cookbooks. It is beyond frustrating to work with on the computer and the app. Cook'n, you caused multiple family fights & hours of frustration! It is constantly evolving , getting better and better all the time. My most favorite feature is ‘scan’ as I have collected recipes from magazines, newspaper, classes, friends and family for decades. I can now easily search or review recipes rather than spending too much time looking. Secondly, sharing a recipe is a snap via text or email. The subscription is well worth the nominal price - I would be devastated if I lost my collection.
