BAD IDEA. Now the app is having problems loading a recipe from website addresses. So…. Keep that in mind as you read my earlier review below. ******** I was so skeptical it was worth it that my friend bought it for me. It’s terrific. I don’t use it for the “shopping list” thing. And I still own cookbooks and 3 binders and a pile of xeroxes not yet incorporated into any system. But I’ve switched over to this system, saving new recipes. The best thing about it, I think, is just the ease of finding recipes. That alone is worth the price. I’m sure there are additional bonuses (the meal-planning is one), but I haven’t used them.. One nit-picky comment (because I’m a language person): it should be “Instructions,” not “Directions.” 😆 and there are a couple other elements that are not as clear or user-friendly as they ought to (or could) be, but it’s still pretty amazing. ### 4/5 — Fix the tiktok share feature *2026-08-30, version 3.46.2* its a really good app and amazing but theres an issue with using tiktok to transfer the recipe it always says theres no ingredients on the caption when theres a recipe and the directions. please fix this! ### 2/5 — Deleted all my recipes *2026-08-27, version 3.46.2* This app was really good but I went to add a recipe and found all my recipes gone. It is by far one of my favorite apps. It’s versatility lets me save untested recipes from fb/internet; save recipes I find and love, and input my own. The ‘add photo’ works flawlessly and enabled me to take pics of all the recipes I had in books etc to bring on vacation. (We have allergies and must cook all our own food so this is wonderful) The custom categories allow us to label things so they are findable again. The ability to share means my son in college can cook all his safe meals! And my friend can have the recipe for the meal she loved. The app synchs perfectly across decices. The shopping list feature is appreciated. I have an ‘untested recipe🚧🚧’ category so son will know which recipes are not ‘tried and true winners.’ All my recipes will be in one beautiful and useable format that takes up no room. No favorite recipes will be ‘lost’. All the old recipes written by hand are preserved in photo for nostalgia and typed legibly. Support is terrific and responsive. Not only have I been unable to do so, but my attempts to reset my password are useless also, as I never receive an email link. I’ve tried emailing their support for the app but never received any response. I love it. The biggest down side that I just came across is that if you pay the $20 for “pro” on an apple device to be able to sync recipes with an account. You in addition to that have to spend ANOTHER $20 if you want to use them on an android device. $40 to be able to use my recipes from my iPad to my new digital android calendar. Every time I go to sign into my account to access my recipes it wants me to “upgrade” to pro for $20. If this is a bug please fix it, if not the greed is insane. ### 1/5 — Do NOT pay! I upgraded to the PRO version so I can have this sync across devices. I have a tablet and phone that I alternate between when I cook. I was pleased with the feature that the free version of the app has. I wanted to be able to add recipes to one device and edit it on the other which is why PRO was purchased. From day 1 I have never been able to sync the devices despite creating an account, changing the password multiple times, and finally uninstalling and reinstalling the app. This app STILL has not worked across devices. There is also no way to contact anyone to troubleshoot. It really sucks because everything else is great. I’ll be looking elsewhere for a better recipe keeper. ### 1/5 — Meh, I only got this so I could see MY recipes on Alexa - huge fail! *2026-07-14, version 3.46.2* I bought this so that I could access MY recipes on Alexa Echo. That barely ever works. You have to disable and re-enable the app and even then it’s a shouting match with Alexa. Just getting my recipes from Paprika into RK was a huge hassle. Adding new recipes from the web are 50/50 if they will import. I have gone back to Paprika 1000 times easier to use, has a cleaner interface and it just works. I really wish I never bought this app! ### 1/5 — Just doesn’t do what it says it does *2026-07-11, version 3.46.2* Not a bad standalone app for your phone if free, but I paid $19.99 primarily because it’s supposed to work with the larger new Echo Shows and it just does not work.
