When I first downloaded it I could make different categories and add all my recipes. I didn’t use it for a minute and when I resigned in this time now there’s a payment to have as many categories I would want. I had recipes behind locks of categories I had made prior to this downgrade and I had to consolidate and delete some other categories to be able to access my locked up recipes that before was free. There are no ads so if that’s what the price is for no ads that finr, but honestly very disappointed in this change. ### 3/5 — Dommage *2026-06-21* C’était top. I don’t know how/why these things are changed when transferred over but you need to double-check all your recipes. So far over 50% have had to be edited, which is not what I expected when I subscribed to this App. If I have to check and correct recipes, why bother getting this app? Love that it's free with no catch ### 5/5 — Actuality making recipes I have saved *2026-05-26* Great app, pretty easy to get recipes in there from the source once you get the hang of it. I have imported from Facebook, screen shots, photos of physical cookbooks. I haven’t tried other social media yet mostly because my stuff is saved in FB. I did end up upgrading to pro but only because I wanted the option to upload more than five recipes a day. I have actually been trying new recipes that I have long ago saved now that I have them in one spot. Would recommend. ### 2/5 — Categories stopped loading *2026-05-21* Not sure if there was a recent update but now none of the recipes load for each category, app just freezes and then says it's not connected. All recipes show on the main page but clicking on each category freezes the app. **Developer response:** Hi there, thank you for letting us know about this issue. Other apps I checked out cost $ but I functionality I didn’t care about. Now that I’ve used this I would pay for it. ### 5/5 — Great App *2026-05-12, version 3.2.3* I’m a chef and I can honestly say it’s my second hand ### 3/5 — Good in practice *2026-05-12* It’s good about 50% of the time, but the rest of the time it keeps importing recipes in the wrong language. It will take English speaking videos, with English captions and recipes, and decide to randomly translate them into Spanish or French. This app is an absolute must if you like cooking and trying new recipes. ### 3/5 — Great potential but a few potential dealbreakers *2026-04-27* I’m reviewing the free version. I really appreciate what the app allows without a subscription. The importing of recipes is great except for one thing: it keeps changing the units from cups to ml. This may be a dealbreaker for me. Another issue is in the cooking mode. One of the reasons I got this app is for my phone not to lock while I’m following a recipe. However, this is only applied to the cooking steps and not to the part where you can see ingredients and amounts and honestly, that’s the most important part. ### 5/5 — The Best! *2026-04-25* Of all the apps I’ve ever downloaded this has to be the most practical and the most used app. It’s ideal for me to store all the recipes that I find in line and share them with my friends too. Worked really well. Went into it recently , after not having used it for a while, and none of my recipes are there. Avoid this app. Waste of time! ### 1/5 — Didn’t synch *2026-06-16, version 3.2.8* I tried this app but could not make it sync with my computer. The link email feature did not work, always showing an error message. No response from customer service. ### 1/5 — No longer “free” *2026-06-14, version 3.2.8* Loved this app because I could upload and create unlimited recipes, then categorize them. With a recent update, you now have to pay to see categories. ### 1/5 — Doing too Much *2026-06-10* This app was awesome at first now its just trying to take advantage of us. Like what’s the point of putting limits on how many categories you can have that so dumb why would I waste $34 for a app that was FREE and you could download recipes for free to now you have a yearly/monthly subscription to just organize your food recipes like are you serious like do you honestly sound sane at all and the crazy part is you forced it to only be 2 categories like why you already did the limited download a day why would you take the only other thing from the free version that makes your app actually likable. I don’t even use this app this much to even want to pay that much money in this economy. App will be deleted and I will not be downloading it again very disappointed on how you decided to navigate your app money hungry grimlin ### 1/5 — Update wiped recipes *2026-04-25, version 3.2.1* Recent update signed me out and also wiped all my recipes. I did not use the paid option. Recipes will not save when it updates. ### 1/5 — Not worth it! *2026-04-19, version 3.2.0* I initially loved this app, but out of nowhere I lost all of my recipes. I contacted support 3 separate times, and now - almost 2 months later - the only response I’ve received is that they’re “looking into it”. It’s been incredibly disappointing - I really thought this was the perfect app. ### 1/5 — Grate up, now charging *2026-03-07* Don’t waste you time, this was a great app. You’ve BEEN able to create multiple folders and upload your recipes until now. Looks like they were free till they got their 4.8 stars, now they charge $6.99 a month or $49.99 a year paste two free folders. Tank god I hadn’t gotten THAT far into converting my stuff. Just do it the ole fashion way and type it out in a notes folder. This is the last app I look to for this service. **Developer response:** Hi there, thank you for sharing your honest feedback. All over the marketing for this app is “no premium tiers” “100% free”. And shocker, they now charge. If you are going to charge for an app, don’t promote that it is free and there are “No subscriptions, no ads, completely free forever”. The developers page literally advertises “Unlike other apps that charge $4.99-$9.99/month, Recipe Notes is completely free with no premium tiers, no hidden costs, and no ads. We believe everyone deserves great recipe management tools.” It’s $4.99/month for their premium tier. You can only get 2 sorting categories in free which is annoying cause there are three meals in a day so have fun with that. You also are limited on what you can import per day. Charge for your app, I don’t care, many apps do…just don’t false advertise and lie about it. ### 1/5 — Update removes functionality *2026-02-20, version 3.0.6* Basic functionality such as folders now locked behind subscription model. The app is currently not programmed well enough to be worth subscribing to. I track my calories in the meal plan every day, and I can share shopping lists with my family too. It's super useful. ### 5/5 — Fantastic App *2026-08-08* Works well inputting recipes from Utube & Facebook. Then you can alter the recipe a bit once saved if you want to. You can create your own too.
