The clean design makes it easy to navigate, and the ability to organize recipes across all my devices is fantastic. The recently introduced search feature has made finding specific recipes even more convenient, which I really appreciate. However, there are a couple of features that could make this app perfect. A batch cooking feature would be a great addition for those of us who like to prep meals in advance. The timer feature is simple to set up and works well, but I've noticed that the notification sound only plays once when the timer ends. If you miss it, your meal could end up overcooked or burned. It would be helpful if the developers could add an option for repeated notifications until acknowledged. Lastly, the grocery list feature is quite handy, especially with the way ingredient quantities are merged. However, I've found that many items are categorized as "uncategorized," which means I often have to manually assign categories. It seems like it would be straightforward for the app to automatically categorize common ingredients—for example, placing salad under vegetables, and cheese under dairy. Overall, I love this app and use it every day. More often it crashes after I purchased the PRO $10 upgrade. I like the concept of the app but I can’t use it if it’s crashing. Also would like the option to remove RSS saved recipes from discover. No option available to remove recipe from your book once added from discovery. Moreover if the recipe is added from discovery you cannot add anything to your grocery list. This app has potential and hopefully developers see this and reevaluate. **Developer response:** Sorry for the trouble you’re experiencing. The crashes are more concerning and will be fixed ASAP. Adding features to remove saved recipes and allow adding items from Discovery recipes to your grocery list will either come at the same time with the next update or as a separate update. Tap it to read the recipe, or leave it where it is. Nothing joins your cookbook unless you say so, and once today's pick is spent, the widget counts down to the next one. The first three are free; Pro keeps one coming every day. Say which meals you cook, not what time There is no clock to set. Tell the app which meals you cook and your recipe arrives while there is still time to cook it. The notification has its own switch in Settings, separate from the widget, so you can silence one and keep the other. Starting out is two questions now Setting the app up used to be ten questions before it had shown you anything. Now it is two, then a dish you can accept or turn down. Say yes and the recipe is found, imported and saved while you watch. Turn it down as often as you like; it keeps offering something else. Imports that used to fail Some sites answer a recipe link with a redirect to a regional address, foodnetwork.com to foodnetwork.co.uk for instance. Those imports failed every time, and retrying never helped. They work now. Fixes worth knowing about • Tapping a dish you have already saved opens it, instead of starting a new search. • A recipe you were owed is no longer lost when its delivery is missed. • One page that will not load no longer costs you the day's recipe. The app icon is new too. ### 6.2 — 2026-08-17 Cook from any recipe, in your own numbers. That is what 6.2 is about. Read it in your units Switch any recipe between US and metric with the new scales button, or set it once in Settings for every recipe. Cups of flour become the grams a scale actually shows, and a recipe that says 350°F reads 180°C in the steps too. Your choice sticks per recipe, so grandma's cake can stay in grams forever. Scale it in one tap Halve, double or triple a recipe with the new buttons above the ingredients. Every amount recalculates from the original, so going back is always exact. Translate it A recipe in another language now translates right on your iPhone. It is free, nothing leaves your device, it works offline once the language is downloaded, and the author's original is always one tap away. Smarter imports Recipes that never say how many they serve now arrive with a realistic serving count, read from their actual quantities. Fixes worth knowing about • Editing tags or notes no longer removes the recipe's photo. • Tags on recipes in a shared household library no longer disappear after a restart. • Shopping lists now combine amounts correctly in French, German, Dutch and Spanish. ### 6.1 — 2026-08-14 Hands-free now works wherever you cook in English Voice control was quietly limited to the US. If you cook in the UK, Ireland, Canada, Australia or anywhere else in English, cook mode now listens for "next" and "back" like it always should have. Where it genuinely can't work, the button is no longer there to tap. Shop by the pack, in your language Your shopping list can show what you actually lift off the shelf: 2 cans, 1 bag, 250 g of butter. That used to work in English only. It now works in French, German, Dutch and Spanish, and if you shop in the US you'll see US pack sizes instead of European ones.
