### 3/5 — Great APP Over all but….

*2024-07-02*

Once I had logged 3 or 4 recipes I could no longer add any more and they want me to “verify my email” but I clicked the link to Resend but NEVER received one single e-mail. It is too bad as I have already started sharing how great it WAS - Guess I won’t recommend it anymore

### 3/5 — Accuracy seems off

*2023-09-24*

I input my own recipe using 5 tablespoons of paprika. Paprika is a highly nutritious spice more so in my opinion than turmeric. I purchased the upgrade in the breakdown the paprika added no nutritional value so I know that is untrue. It was easy to use it probably has some accuracy but it needs improvement. I’m thinking it’s not calculating anything nutritionally on spices.

### 4/5 — Good concept. Lil tweaking needed

*2021-10-28, version 2.2.4*

I’m a label reader! Oddly enough I enjoy figuring out the nutritional values. A friend asked for help on healthier meals and I thought his would be a great place to create original personalized recipes and share the ingredients/ nutritional info. Unfortunately the app does not allow sharing or copying. I also found some of the foods are way over the calories or just not available. There is a place to add new foods and input all the info yourself. If I could share or copy recipes I would definitely purchase. If your new to healthy choices this is a great lil personal recipe book if you don’t mind double checking the values.

**Developer response:** Thank you so very much for your kind words! So glad you enjoy the app. We would absolutely love it if you could share some examples on which ingredients' values seem off to you so we can investigate that. Feel free to reach out at info@recipeiqapp.com!
Thanks again,
Your RecipeIQ Team.

### 4/5 — Very Nice App

*2021-08-21, version 2.2.0*

I have had good luck with this app and entering my home cooked recipes. It is very easy with either taking a photo of the ingredients or entering the website. Very Impressive! I do wish it would be made into at the least an ipad app or mac app. I find it difficult to use on my iphone - it's too small. I will continue to use this app and did buy the year subscription. I hope they consider an ipad version it is worth it.

I wanted to add a downside is you cannot see the entire line of the item for which you are searching which is very inconvenient. In order to properly calculate you need to have all of the information.

### 2/5 — Easy to use but inaccurate

*2021-06-11, version 2.1.6*

I was very excited about this app and thought it would help calculate nutrition values to manage type 1 diabetes. But I began to be suspicious about the values I was getting compared to my own calculations from the ingredient label, they were way off! I contacted the company and to their credit they engaged in a lengthy email exchange regarding the problem. But ultimately they argued with me and told me I was doing it wrong and did not correct the errors. I would not recommend this app because the nutrition values are wrong! I would love an easy to use app that had accurate values to help manage my diabetes.

**Developer response:** Thank you for the review! We're sorry to hear that your experience didn't meet your expectations. We'd be more than happy to review the ingredients and sort this out. Do not hesitate to reach out at info@recipeiqapp.com. We will do our best to help you with this matter as quickly as possible! Hope to hear from you soon. Your RecipeIQ Team.

### 4/5 — User Friendly but not Comprehensive

*2021-04-21, version 2.1.5*

This app is super easy to use and offers multiple, easy ways to calculate a recipe. However, it only calculates calories and macros. It would be nice to have more details around sugar and fat. Searching ingredients can also be kind of frustrating, many are very technically named or hard to search- arborio rice for example is "rice, short grain, whole"and SKUs can't be scanned to avoid this which is annoying. If you can accept a general idea of your nutrition, it's a great app!

**Developer response:** Thank you for your feedback, Jess_K! We actually do provide details on micronutrients. Please click on Plate/Pie chart looking icon under the ingredients list in your recipe to see them. You might also be interested in purchasing our premium version which calculates the exact amount of those micronutrients for any given recipe. As for the searching feature, it can be tricky sometimes, yes, and that is why we will be improving it in the future. So stay tuned! Feel free to reach us at info@recipeiqapp.com if you have any questions! Your RecipeIQ team!

### 4/5 — Where’s the fiber ?

*2021-04-08, version 2.1.4*

Would love to see the fiber calculation on my recipes, but it doesn’t prove that info.

### 4/5 — Question re: adding fiber

*2021-02-21, version 2.1.1*

I really need to have fiber added to this app in order for it to do what I needed it to do for keto diet and I kind of feel like you should know that if you are catering to keto diet. Is there any way that could be done?

**Developer response:** Hello katpurr! Thank you for your feedback and rating. If you open any of your recipes and click on a pie chart-looking icon on the bottom, you will see fiber values amongst all the other nutritions. Hope this helps! If anything, do not hesitate to reach out to us at info@recipeiqapp.com

### 2/5 — Very small ingredient list

*2020-09-17, version 2.0.2*

Their ingredient list is way to small to be able to input even basic recipes. They call venison deer. They have almost none of the typical products one would need for a low sodium diet!

### 2/5 — Disappointing

*2020-09-01, version 2.0.2*

This app needs landscape orientation when using with an iPad and keyboard. Very awkward when having to twist your head to see what you are trying to read or input.
The ingredients are only partially visible when you try to input your own recipe. You can only see what you are selecting after the ingredient has been chosen, and if it is not correct you have to keep selecting by trial and error until you stumble across what you are looking for.
I definitely would not recommend using this app if you want to create your own recipes or use with an iPad.

**Developer response:** Hello! Thank you for your feedback. We do not support tablets at this point, unfortunately. As for the ingredient visibility, yes, we are aware of this issue and will be working on it in the nearest future to make it more efficient for you to use! If you have any other comments, please share them at info@recipeiqapp.com. Looking forward to hearing from you.

### 2/5 — What? Why?

*2020-06-19, version 1.5.11*

Will not divide entire recipe into servings and will not let you use the edit feature to divide it into .25 of a serving or 1 or 2 slices of pizza so it looks like you are about to consume 1500 calories. Edit features do NOT work on this. If ingredients aren’t in database (many common foods are not) and you add them you lose all the ingredients you’ve entered and have to start over. I entered 1 recipe 3x. Also does something to the touch screen where you have to tap until you stab your device to death

**Developer response:** Thank you for the review. The servings are defined after the ingredients are listed, a separate page is dedicated to that so a serving should not be an entire meal. Ingredients should not be disappearing but please send us screenshots/recording so we can review the issue, info@recipeiqapp.com. Sorry to hear that you stab your device to death. Which one are you using? Please feel free to share any and all feedback you have via info@recipeiqapp.com! Looking forward to hearing from you!

### 4/5 — Additions needed

*2020-03-21, version 1.5.8*

Hello - I’m happy with your app. There are errors in nutrition calculations, but I use other means to ‘fact check’ them. What I REALLY want is an iPad version so I don’t have to type sideways. I have more but will list and send.

### 1/5 — Missing ingredients

*2020-01-27, version 1.5.5*

Messed around with the app for awhile. Doesn’t have whole milk, or any kind of regular cows milk at all. If you don’t have something as simple as milk your app is unusable.

### 1/5 — Calculator can’t count

*2019-09-29, version 1.5.0*

So after getting the app I entered a test recipe to verify accuracy. My 95 calorie dressing recipe came back with a calorie count of 342.

Delete!

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Quite useless on iPhone or iPad for scanning recipe

*2024-10-26*

You cannot scan a recipe on an iPhone or iPad. You are unable to drag the frame at all.

### 1/5 — Unable to verify my account

*2024-09-02*

The app has requested , in order for me to be able to use this app , that I verify my account. I have repeatedly asked the app to send the verification email. I have never gotten it. I have checked all my emails and my junk folder it’s nowhere to be found. Therefore, I can’t use this app . I’m glad I am not paying for this app. I’m gonna delete it until they get this bug fixed. I contacted customer support, but I haven’t heard back.

### 1/5 — Can’t enter copied text, must use photo or enter each item manually

*2024-01-11*

I have many recipe files in Word. This app won’t let me copy the ingredients and paste them. It requires keying in each item separately.
The calculations from uploading a photo of the recipe seem very inaccurate. It’s very difficult to delete an alternative item added to the ingredients list improperly from the photo.

### 1/5 — Hopeless

*2023-08-01*

You cannot remove an ingredient from the list and if there is no alternative you are stuck. Hopeless.

### 1/5 — Excitement turned to major frustration

*2022-07-25, version 2.3.0*

I tried using this app for one recipe from a photo. 1 1/2 pounds of leeks showed up as 15 pounds of chicken (and the app wouldn’t let me change it to leeks). There were multiple other mistakes, but the hassle of correcting all of them made it totally not worth it.

### 1/5 — AWFUL DATA BASE/WORSE FUNCTION

*2021-10-16, version 2.2.2*

App often freezes, does not pick up data correctly from recipe links, flat out crap. You’ll need to double check data collected when copying/pasting recipes to be calculated.
Things like quantities are crucial to calculation yet this app routinely screws it up besides the wrong ingredient altogether.
You would be better off using a calculator

**Developer response:** Sorry you had a poor experience with our app. Would you be so kind to email us at info@recipeiqapp.com? We'd like to figure out why it isn't functioning properly on your device and resolve the issues as soon as possible. Hope to hear from you soon! Your RecipeIQ Team.

### 1/5 — Not Accurate

*2021-03-09, version 2.1.1*

I was disappointed in the accuracy. I need something that I can put my recipes in and have it give an accurate count of the nutritional value. I like the ease of use BUT the nutritional value is way off. My husband is type 2 diabetic and I want to give him home cooked meals. Many recipes that I want to do don’t provide the carb count and that is extremely important in his case; along with all the other nutritional values.

**Developer response:** Hello Christi! Thank you very much for your feedback. We have recently released a new version with fixed calculations so the values should not be off now. Please try the latest build and see if it works better for you. If you still experience any issues, do not hesitate to reach out to us via info@recipeiqapp.com.
Thanks again,
Your RecipeIQ team.

### 1/5 — Could be 5 stars if...

*2020-12-18, version 2.0.7*

The concept is awesome, but the execution? Not so much. I tried uploading recipe photos with very common ingredients but many foods were not recognized, probably because the database descriptions do not jibe with common recipe nomenclature. The database is cumbersome, with too many basic foods such as eggs, shrimp, flour not recognized and then needing to look them up, then having a hard time doing that.

### 1/5 — Should let you scan the ingredient code!

*2020-07-20, version 1.5.11*

This app should let you scan the ingredient code like food tracker apps. My first item I tried to enter wasn’t listed! Not impressed at all.

### 1/5 — Not screen reader friendly

*2020-03-12, version 1.5.6*

Please fix

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Works as advertising

*2024-01-06*

When i saw all the poor reviews i was hesitant to download the app. However, i noticed that most are very old so i would try it out.

So far it has worked completely as advertising and is very easy to use. Perfect for what i was looking for and it didn’t cost any money for what i needed

### 5/5 — A must have for weight loss and WW especially

*2023-01-21, version 2.3.1*

I’ve been struggling with weight loss for years but recently got on the WW grind. This app is a MUST for anyone trying to lose weight especially if you’re on WW. Being able to screenshot recipes and get a WW points total seconds later is amazing. This helps me figure out what the actual healthy recipes are.

### 5/5 — Pretty close and easier to use...

*2021-05-15, version 2.1.6*

I’ve tried a couple apps for calculating nutritional info. This one is pretty accurate when compared to the WW app. Within a few calories and points are calculated correctly most every time (or are pretty close...if it’s off, look at what you have entered). I like it for the ease of entry compared to the WW calculator; the Instanutrition and others I have tried. I’m primarily typing in the ingredients...I know you can snap a picture, edit the photo and do a couple things and it will calculate...but once you get use to it, it’s pretty easy and quick to just enter by hand. Thanks!

**Developer response:** Thank you so very much for such a positive review! We are beyond happy to know that you enjoy the app. If you ever have any questions or suggestions for the app, do not hesitate to reach out to us at info@recipeiqapp.com. We will be glad to hear from you. Thank you again!
Your RecipeIQ Team.

### 5/5 — This is a pretty neat app.

*2021-01-12*

It is intuitive and relatively easy to use. With little effort I got comprehensive nutrition results for my recipes. I love it, works well without in app purchase however, I have picked up the monthly plan for more detailed information on individual ingredient details within results

### 5/5 — Very helpful

*2020-08-04*

Very useful when valley counting

### 5/5 — Great app!

*2020-02-26, version 1.5.6*

Hi, I think the app is so much better than others that I’ve tried. It’s so easy to use and has a larger product list than others. I definitely agree that having the ability to print and share would be great. I’m a food service professional so the information the app provides is extremely helpful . Thank you!

### 5/5 — Wow!

*2019-02-18, version 1.0.4*

This is an awesome app. I don’t know why it doesn’t have more reviews. Worked flawlessly to calculate the nutrition info for a recipe I wanted to make. I was able to tweak ingredients to bring the calorie level down easily. Very cool app, and I know I’ll use it a lot.

### 5/5 — Great app!

*2019-01-12, version 1.0.4*

I’ll admit that the first time I tried using it to take photo of a recipe, the app crashed in the middle of the process. But I decided to give it a second chance and imported tonight’s recipe from the website where I found it. Voila! A little editing and I’ve got the complete nutritional values. That was enough to convince me to pay for the ad free version. Thanks!

### 5/5 — My new favourite app!!

*2018-12-10*

This app is absolutely genius! I love that all you have to do it take a photo, there is no need to waste time entering each ingredient separately. By far the best nutrition app I’ve seen

### 5/5 — RecipeIQ App

*2018-09-21, version 1.0.2*

Overall a very helpful application. This app is user friendly and provides valuable data that you are able to extract via photo. Perfect for the techie/foodie that wants to stay fit.

**Developer response:** Hi. We are very glad that you like the app. Let us know if you have any ideas for future improvements, we would love to hear from you.
