My kids have been asking me for recipes throughout the years and I never got around to it until now. I made each of my children a book of their favorite childhood recipes for Christmas and instead of putting pictures of the food on each recipe I put a family photo or a photo of them as babies. Really enjoyed this and would highly recommend.

Astounding scanning
I’ve used many scanning tools over the years and this one really shines. It correctly recognized text and handwriting, even on packaging that had shiny reflections. Beyond that it seems to understand the meaning of the recipe to some degree. It arranges text into sections and steps. In one case it added quantities of sugar for two different sections of a recipe. Sometimes it shortens instructions. Sometimes it cuts out unnecessary parts. I went through every quantity for every recipe and there was only one quantity wrong out of 22 recipes. This is without doubt the best OCR I’ve seen in my IT career.

We just used this app to compile hundreds of hand written family recipes. ReciScan easily detected the intricate writing and formatted each recipe beautifully. It looks so professional! This will be such a treasure for our family. We are adding our final touches and looking forward to printing physical copies for family members.

I was given my mother in laws recipe books to sort out. I was researching how to go about this and found this app. I am impressed it turned her delicate hand written recipes in to actual recipes that can be used in a book. This is genius….A must have. Will make excellent gifts and memories.
