It does not load quickly and has issues freezing up while using it. it also lacks a lot of features that are common place in most other apps where you view pictures, and videos. If it were 2010, this would be a terrific app. But it’s 2026 and it’s way behind in terms of its capability and functionality. I’m not a big fan of paying a premium price for a less than average product. if these issues are not cleared up within the next year or two, I will most definitely Reconyx for a much cheaper product elsewhere that delivers the same level of quality. ### 2/5 — Buggy *2026-05-12* Randomly wouldn’t load. Deleted and reinstalled, then it won’t log in. This event is in place to let you know the camera is working regardless of if there are pictures throughout the day. At this time this can not be disabled. If you would like to see this as a feature in the future please contact support at 1-866-493-6064 and one of our US based tech support staff would be more than willing to take your feedback. ### 2/5 — App crashing 8/4/2022 *2022-08-04, version 2.2.1* Never had a problem before and love Reconyx but like other recent reviewers, app flashing on and then crashing immediately. Please get this fixed right away. This makes a $600 camera with $15 month cell service useless. Using Iphone 11 with up to date software if that helps.Thanks ### 2/5 — Was good; now broken *2022-08-04* In order to use on my iPhone I have to delete and reinstall every time I want to check the camera. However recently the app flashes open and then crashes out. Cannot check any cameras at all. Don’t know if I’m losing pictures and frustrating to have to keep deleting and downloading for cameras that are double if not triple the cost of other cameras especially after I add the solar chargers to the package. So fix it! You have to delete the app, shut down your phone, then reinstall every time it happens. At least once a day. In that order. It’s completely gone from my app. ### 1/5 — Terrible App *2025-09-25* For a camera 5x expensive as leading competitor, this app is awful. Pics take forever to load no matter what they tell you and try swiping between pics and it just brings you back to the first pic. Tech support no help, just excuses. Apparently they only care about making a ton of money off the camera purchase. This app deserves ZERO stars ### 1/5 — App Update notification *2024-09-04, version 3.2.1* This app constantly reminds you of updated app info. Nobody cares. Quit with the notifications. ### 1/5 — Do Not Buy *2023-11-21* I bought several of the cameras with the unlimited plan in order to spot trespassers and read their license plates. It worked great for about two months and then they “updated” to disallow those on the “Unlimited” plan, which is their priciest, the ability to download HD photos! Which has eliminated my entire reason for buying the very expensive $600+ cameras and $20/month unlimited plan! ### 1/5 — Buy tactacam *2023-11-03* Between the app crashing and never letting you onto the screen before closing it and reopening it I can’t decide what’s more annoying. Works great and pictures are perfect, we just wish there was a way to monitor on a desktop computer to view bigger photos and/or to select and delete groups of photos at one time through the app because we are taking pics every 15 minutes and often need to delete about 40 photos a day after logging progress and it is kind of tedious one at a time. Great app though! ### 5/5 — Awesome App *2021-11-25* Bug about deleting individual pics from my prior review was fixed in the current update. It’s pretty much perfect for me now. A quick call to customer service (based in the USA) helped solve the problems. Customer service is very helpful. A quick call to customer service (based in the USA) helped solve the problem. ### 4/5 — Weird image formatting *2022-10-26* The latest update created a weird formatting issue that did not exist previously. When images are displayed in rows of 3, the first and second images from left are both displayed as the same size. However, the third image (far right) is stretched to make it fit the screen. It’s still functional, but it makes the app appear clunky. This is on IPhone 12 Pro running IOS 16.1. ### 4/5 — Broken since the update *2022-08-13* My favorite camera. Since the update the app won’t open. Update: it has been fixed ### 4/5 — Touch ID *2020-08-30* App works well. Would be nice not to have to sign in every time and just use Touch ID or face recognition on iPhones or allow it to remember me on this device. **Developer response:** Sorry to hear you had this problem, but it should have been resolved. Please let us know if you continue to experience this issue. ### 3/5 — Getting much better *2023-10-30* As they go along this app is getting much better but the one thing that stops me from 4 or better stars is the sweep left/right sensitivity. It is way overly sensitive to up and down swipe gestures. Just try to rotate to landscape mode and swipe left or right for like 10 pics. Most likely you will be dumped out of that mode and brought back to the overview of pictures because it thought you swiped down a little. This is SO FRUSTRATING. Please please please address this and fix. Otherwise, they keep making the app better and adding better functionality for managing the images ### 3/5 — App won’t open *2022-08-04* Any guess when the app will start working again? The excitement use to be to see if there were pictures of animals now the excitement is to see if the app will open without having to delete and reload.
