## What is Record Picker?

Record Picker helps you catalog your physical music collection and choose what to play next — vinyl, CDs, SACDs, MiniDiscs and more, together on iPhone, iPad and Mac.

CATALOG WHAT YOU ACTUALLY OWN

Add an album by hand, scan its barcode or import a collection. Keep the exact edition, format, disc count, country, label, years, track list, artwork and your own notes. Artist, genre and label suggestions make entry faster, while a separate wishlist keeps future finds out of your collection until they are yours.

IMPORT WITHOUT LOSING CONTROL

Bring in Discogs, MusicBuddy or personal CSV files. Record Picker asks whether each import belongs in your collection or wishlist, lets you map unfamiliar columns and shows what will be added, updated, ignored or treated as a duplicate before you commit.

THREE WAYS TO CHOOSE WHAT PLAYS NEXT

• Today’s Pick connects verified music news, anniversaries, reissues and optional nearby concerts to records you own or want. Every suggestion explains why it was chosen and cites its source.
• Mood Pick finds a record for the moment using your collection’s genres, styles, reviews and listening history.
• Random Pick brings neglected records back into rotation without repeating the same record or artist too soon. Multi-genre filters help you shape the draw.

BUILT WITH CLASSICAL COLLECTIONS IN MIND

Composer, works, catalog numbers, conductor, orchestra, choir, ensemble, soloists, recording date and recording place have proper fields of their own. Different interpretations remain complementary records, not false duplicates.

KEEP THE LIBRARY TIDY

MusicBrainz and Discogs can suggest missing metadata, artwork, tracks, genres and styles without overwriting your work. Data Quality flags missing dates, incomplete formats and likely duplicates. Sort and filter by genre to see your collection from a new angle.

YOUR DATA IS YOURS

Export your collection or wishlist as straightforward CSV or JSON. Make a full backup with artwork, favorites and listening history, then restore it on another device. There is no secret format and no subscription needed to get your library out.

ONE COLLECTION ACROSS YOUR APPLE DEVICES

Private iCloud sync keeps the same library on Mac, iPhone and iPad. The Apple Watch companion helps you find something to play without returning to the computer. Record Picker has no house account, no ads and no tracking.

Record Picker is free for up to 100 owned records. A single Record Picker Pro purchase unlocks an unlimited collection for good, with no subscription.

Play the right record.

### 4/5 — Concept intéressant

*2026-08-19*

### 5/5 — Gets your collection spinning again

*2026-08-12*

Record Picker is a proper little gem. It goes well beyond cataloguing: Random Pick, Mood Pick and Today’s Pick make it dead easy to rediscover records and CDs that have been gathering dust, without taking the pleasure out of choosing what to play. It feels thoughtfully made across iPhone, Mac and Apple Watch. The developer is quick to respond and genuinely listens to feedback. Spot on for any music collector.

### 5/5 — Exceptionnel

*2026-08-12*

• Browse forward and back through several timely suggestions, and teach the private on-device ranking with Relevant and Not Relevant.
• The new Collection Graph reveals works, recordings, performers and related editions — especially useful for classical collections.
• Clearer first-run guidance, a refreshed Mac home screen and a more compact iPhone navigation make the main features easier to discover.
• Stronger MusicBrainz matching, data-quality safeguards, localisation and performance improvements throughout.

Your collection and wishlist stay private: matching and personalisation happen on your device.

### 1.9 — 2026-08-08

Record Picker 1.9 introduces Today Pick: a timely, private reason to rediscover a record you already own.

• Verified music news, significant anniversaries and optional nearby concerts are matched with your collection entirely on your device.
• Every suggestion explains why it was chosen and cites its dated source. Wishlist news remains separate from records you can play.
• Optional private reminders, relevance feedback and Today Pick on Apple Watch help keep suggestions useful. Your collection is never sent to the news service.
