## What is Records?

Your music should feel like a collection, not a feed or text list.

Records turns your library into a wall of album covers. Browse with your eyes, pick what you like, and play one record at a time.

Create crates, import music from Apple Music or Discogs, discover new records, and keep a Journal of what you listen to. Records Pro unlocks unlimited crates and compatible music imports from Files and iCloud Drive.

Records requires Media & Apple Music permission. An Apple Music subscription is required for catalog playback, but not for playing your own files.

### 5/5 — Essential for Lovers of Virtual Vinyl

*2026-01-21*

Closest I've ever gotten to the feeling of browsing bins of vinyl w/o leaving the couch! Music lovers, this is a must have, even if you don't know it yet.

### 1/5 — No local music support

*2024-08-23*

Another cool looking app that only connects to subscription services for playback. I don’t understand why so many players won’t allow you to play music from your own library when most music collectors prefer to buy and own their own albums.

### 3/5 — Important missing feature

*2024-03-30*

I really want to fully switch to this app because of how much I love the design and interface, but unfortunately the fact that it doesn’t support music that you’ve loaded in manually from iTunes is a big let down for me as I have music that I want to listen to that isn’t on Apple Music

### 4/5 — No local file support

*2024-03-19*

It’s a good app, looks great. But it’s only useful with Apple Music. I have a lot of local music as well that I would like to play through this app but there is no option to import from the file app. There are other apps but they just don’t look nearly as nice.

### 5/5 — Undoubtably the Best

*2023-11-30*

I honestly have to say, this app is quite impressive and aesthetically pleasing. When it mentions “Music Experience,” the developers meant it and done that beautifully. I have yet to encounter any other music player app that is close to this. The sound quality is great, the album art is beautiful and the design is (*chef’s kiss*) the best. The light haptics are a very welcome addition throughout the app.

Could there be a few things I would add like a shuffle or queue button; ability to playback personal music libraries of FLAC/MQA files? (My reason for exploring music players)

Sure I have requests, but the experience makes me forget about all the missing features. Speaking of, the added “Music History” and “Genre Encyclopedia” features are amazing, and I wish other streaming platforms followed this example.

I’m interested in seeing what other “Superpowers” they come up with. If you’re subscribed to Apple Music, this is the best way to listen.

Keep up the great work dev(s), this is the best music app out here doing it in my opinion. This is the standard other music players and streaming-platforms should take notice.
