However, they keep saying you have to pay an additional $4.99. Then, when you do, they tell you you have to pay another $29.99 to but more credits. So far, I have gotten no use out of this app. ### 1/5 — Read the fine *2023-09-24, version 3.0* They don’t tell you there is a monthly fee ### 1/5 — Useless *2023-09-10, version 3.0* Used this app to get my banking overdraft fees refunded. It’s been well over 30 days and haven’t received any communication in the app or by email from Recoup that I’m getting them back or not. Also haven’t heard anything from my bank. They charge a one time fee for this service, but then don’t actually DO anything. Complete scam. ### 1/5 — Not for me *2023-08-27, version 2.7* I wanted to use this app so bad, but I refuse to allow PLAID to login to my bank accounts, so they can snap photos of my transactions for their advertising/data collecting business. ### 1/5 — Worthless *2023-07-29, version 2.7* I was excited for this app. Being able to get cash back is so helpful in this economy, however it is pretty much impossible to get the money. You have to earn badges by surveys, offers, or video reviews. Surveys give 1/8 of a badge and most of the time you don’t even get that. The offers are subscriptions that cost more than a badge is worth($5 cash out per badge). The video reviews require you to send it out to people and get 25 likes. They ask for a lot of info, and if you could actually cash out without jumping through crazy hoops and spending more money than you would get, it would be worth it. ### 1/5 — Can’t actually redeem *2023-06-08, version 2.7* Sure you earn points but they’re useless unless you get “badges”. And to get badges you have to complete offers where you actually have to spend money. Beware! ### 1/5 — Don’t waste your time *2023-05-12* Had high hopes for this but I’m now in the process of trying to delete my account. Not sure how long it will take. You have to submit a request to delete your account and it has been days now and no word. I linked my bank account and spent all this time clicking on all my purchases. Said I was up to $180. Was like wow cool let me cash out. I then had to submit my social, drivers license and selfies to become verified to be able to cash out. After I did this which took a day I then see it says I need 5,000 points and 1 badge to claim every $5. The badges are ridiculous to try and get. The surveys don’t work. It also now says that your points expire after 6 months. I would literally take me that entire time maybe more to do enough tasks to be able to cash out the $180 it said I could get. Here’s the real deal … Recoup wants access to every aspect of your life. Your finances, emails, social media accounts, contact information, credit cards … all of it. For each account you give them unrestricted access to, they give you a measly few points. After you have gave them enough information to steal your identity, you MIGHT have enough points to cash out $4.00. But wait, you can’t cash out … because you also need something called “badges” which are obtained by completing offers that make Recoup a boat load of money. Wow, what an amazing deal. So in the end, Recoup gets all of your personal and private information which they SELL, and then convince you to complete offers which make them MORE money! What do you get? Not even enough for a gallon of gas. ### 1/5 — This app costs you! *2022-12-28, version 2.7* This app is not free. To redeem you must buy, join or record something for them. ### 1/5 — Scam *2022-12-21, version 2.7* Was excited to cash out my earnings till I learned about the badge system. You can’t earn your money back without spending money to earn a badge. Don’t bother! ### 3/5 — Great, but could use some changes… *2022-11-08* It’s super annoying to have to take a video for a review for EVERY purchase. You can’t earn points unless you take a video of youself and it’s ridiculous. There should be a choice of how you review something, video or written. Shouldn’t have to be both. This would be much better if it wasn’t required to take a video for every purchase. Half the time I don’t even remember what I purchased. This your sign! *2024-06-07* I started using recoup, solely because I was told that I may be able to get back some overdraft fees. I paid for the monthly subscription twice and had not got any updates in my claim. My bank did send me a letter stating they got a message from me but they had no other information on me. So now I’m out $30 which put me further in a whole. Just avoid this app. I would rate it a 0 if I could. ### 1/5 — Tech issues connecting my bank *2024-04-12, version 4.2* It won’t connect my bank which is a bank that the app works with but it keeps denying when I go through the steps to connect it. ### 1/5 — Why?? *2024-02-19, version 4.2* Why ask and charge my card for service you could not show me? Every time I open the app it is only asking for payment. Just why?? I have no idea what you can do! At first this app was great but for the past year I haven’t been able to cash out because I can’t get any badges because I’ve had the same offers for over a year now. I have well over enough points but no badges because they haven’t updated the offers they just leave the same offers on there so how can the ones of us that’s already done those offers able to cash out again? I’m starting to think this app is a scam it draws you in let’s u cash out ur first $10 and then that’s it. I’ve even tried surveys to get badges cause it says we can get badges that way but NOPE you can’t I’ve tried for months and not once did I get a badge not even a piece of a badge.
