## What is RecRun?

Run against everyone who ever ran here.

RecRun is an outdoor GPS running app with a twist: every course remembers the people who ran it, and their records come back as named ghosts. An empty street becomes a starting line. A solo jog becomes a race.

RACE GHOSTS IN REAL TIME
Pick a course and the runners who came before you line up around your position. Watch yourself overtake them one by one — live rank, gaps ahead and behind, all spoken so your eyes stay on the road. Nobody has to run at the same time as you. That is the point.

BUILD YOUR OWN COURSE
Draw a route on the map, or just run free and turn your path into a course. Publish it and watch other runners take it on — or keep it private, and it never leaves your phone.

EVENT RACES WITH A PREMIERE
Enter an event and run it whenever suits you during the window. Ranks stay hidden until the end — then, at the premiere, everyone watches the whole field replayed together on one track: overtakes, highlights, final standings and medals revealed at the same moment. Crew versus crew, runner versus runner.

EYES UP, NOT DOWN
Audio first. Distance, pace, turns, rivals and finish calls are spoken. The screen is a heads-up display you can read in three seconds.

APPLE WATCH
Distance, pace, time and course position on your wrist, with haptics for checkpoints, off-course warnings and the finish.

YOUR LOCATION STAYS ON YOUR PHONE
Runs are shared as anonymised checkpoint times only — no coordinates, no timestamps. Your raw GPS trace never leaves your device. Publishing a course is a separate button you press yourself, per save.

Free to download. Every event currently open is free to enter.

• Fixed the crew chat character counter disagreeing with the real limit.

• You are now told in advance when the Terms of Service change.

### 1.0.5 — 2026-09-03

Place your running mate ahead or behind, wherever you like.

■ Chase me — put your mate anywhere
· Choose whether they pull you from the front or chase you from behind.
· Pick 10/20/30/60 seconds, or enter your own with "Custom".
· "Random" rolls the seconds at the start — your chosen direction is kept.
· Fixed: a mate behind you was caught right at the start line.
· The on-screen gap now reads correctly for both directions.

■ Accounts
· Account recovery and password reset no longer reveal whether an email is registered.
· Your user ID is now sent only by email.

■ Notifications
· Premiere reminders are retried when delivery fails — and never sent twice to the same person.
· Reminders that came due while the server was asleep are sent once it wakes.

■ Records
· Resending an offline run now keeps its link to the server record.

■ Terms
· Nickname rules and event-hosting wording now match how the app actually works.
· In English, the Terms and Privacy Policy open in English.

### 1.0.4 — 2026-09-03

Faster lists, a clearer running mate, and fairer rankings.

Faster screens
- Course thumbnails are drawn once and reused, so scrolling the list is much lighter.
- Course cards now appear in two rows, so you see more at a glance.

Catch me if you can
- Your running mate is now marked in pink, so it never blends in with other ghosts.
- Choose how many times you can catch it: 1, 3, 5, or unlimited.
- Once you reach that number, it stops running away and stays beside you to the finish.

Rankings
- AI pacers are always placed below real runners, even when their times are faster.
- Finish a course nobody has run before and you start at first place.

GPS
- If the signal drops briefly in a tunnel or between buildings, the gap is bridged when a human running speed explains it.
- That stretch now counts toward your distance, record, and ranking, and the course can still be shared.

### 1.0.3 — 2026-09-02

Update notices fixed, safer run finishing, a pre-start checklist, and record status badges.

Update notices
- When a new version is out, Home tells you right away, and checks again when you come back to the app.

Run screen
- Finishing now takes a 1.5-second hold, so a brush in your pocket never ends a run.
- While a run is being saved, Finish cannot be pressed again.
- GPS status is shown in words: stable, fair, weak, or checking.

Before you start
- See whether you are on real GPS or demo, and whether location permission, background recording, and accuracy are ready.
- If something is off, open Settings right there.

Record status
- Every race record carries a badge: official, provisional, under review, practice, or demo.
- Demo runs no longer mix into rankings, finish counts, or total distance.
- Home shows your location status.

Security
- Your sign-in token now lives in the device's secure storage.
- Deleting your account also removes records and photos left on the device.

### 1.0.1 — 2026-09-02

Workouts are here. Plus privacy controls and a cleaner ranking board.

■ Workouts (free run)
· Five to choose from: pyramid, fartlek, tempo, build-up and long run.
· Pick a duration and we build the blocks for you, with voice and wrist cues at every change.
· While you run, the current block, time left and what's next stay on screen.
· Courses you create during a workout now show which workout they came from.

■ Privacy
· You can turn off usage analytics in your profile. Analytics are never tied to your account.

■ Fixes
· At large text sizes the Confirm button in race rules could be pushed off screen. Fixed.
· Sharing a course or race no longer adds a stray line of text to the message.
· Sample runners are no longer mixed into the runner ranking. Rankings now count real runs
only, and the sample board sits separately below.
· A course nobody has run no longer says "Course ranking · 0".
· Race rules now close when you tap outside, and the entry-status share button is hidden when nobody has entered.
