I was sad to see it go to a paid model but I still paid for it. I just opened it for the first time in awhile and found that it’s been shut down?!! It offers me the ability to export my saved places but the file is an illegible text file that I can’t export to anywhere. Please help me get my data! I have 350+ places saved with detailed notes and am very upset about losing all of this ### 2/5 — Changed to a subscription model *2024-07-17, version 4.2.4* I did really love this app but it was changed to a subscription model which doesn’t seem fair because I downloaded it far before it was a subscription. More people were using it and you were able to discover places often. Now I barely see anything new. Mind you, I am paying the .99 cent sub for Day One but I still don’t feel like that’s worth it, sadly. Maybe Day One users should have been kept free and new users .99 cent? I dunno, but it’s not the same vibe now. 🤷🏻‍♂️ ### 2/5 — Subscription based now *2024-07-07, version 4.2.4* It had a long way to go before it was a good app for free, now they want monthly subscribers. It would maybe be worth a one time purchase of $5 but not $2 monthly. Sad to see it go this way and lose access because I can’t afford to pay for a subscription. I understand that things need a source of income to continue operating, but locking access to EVERYTHING behind a paywall alienates long-time users. I get yall think this is better than ad revenue, but do you know how many subscriptions people already have? I find it a horrible customer experience that there isn’t a free or grandfathered version being that I had an existing account before it transitioned to a subscription only model without warning. I randomly opened the app after not being in it on a while and I can’t even do anything with the places I had saved, I can’t click to edit, delete, or view the location, open it to launch maps nothing. It’s a labeled pin-point on a useless map. Poor business call, sure way to ensure I don’t pay for access. ### 1/5 — Wish was free *2024-08-28, version 4.2.4* I was so excited to see this app. It was exactly what I was looking for but I just can’t justify the pay wall. I could finally save all of my IG and TikTok recommendations in one place. It took a few week for me to compile all the recs from my screenshots and places people recommended to me, but I finally had a master list. So imagine my surprise and disappointment when I open up my app to discover this brilliant app, with all of my curated places, is now hidden behind a pay wall! I refuse to pay for something so simple. I would've been fine with ads, but they want you to pay to make a list, see other's recommendations, write notes etc?! I can't even get past this pay wall to see my previously saved recs! I have to pay $2 to look at the places I saved before the paywall is as introduced. I don't subscribe to apps with the exception of sometimes learning, school, and music. What ever happened to apps grand fathering in subscriptions? I went on the app to add a new restaurant that I have tried and would like to recommend to others, but then it is telling me to pay for it. It was nice to have a dedicated place for restaurants I like and wanted to try, but there are ways to do that for free that are not much less convenient. I’ve even just made a google account dedicated to places I want to go, and saving them in Google maps. It’s free and basically works the same. I get that apps need funding, but if you guys used ads or something, or even a basic free version and paid version with extra capabilities, that might go over better. Any time I get ready to check out a new city, I save all of my friends’ recommendations with notes about why I wanted to check it out. Then, if someone asks me for good spots in that city, I can easily share my recommendations! I also love the match feature! It makes planning lunch with friends a breeze when I see a spot we both love or wanna check out! I also always have a nice list for entertaining clients and I never have to remember the cool spots I’ve been to! ### 5/5 — Amazingly easy to get started.
