Otherwise, this app is perfect. ### 4/5 — Useful but could be even better! *2021-08-15* The app for voice recording. Easy to use, backed up to the cloud, does what it says in silence. It would be nice if it had a dedicated pause button. The double tap for pause is hard to do and I end up splitting recordings in error many times. Would have been five stars with that pause button. **Developer response:** Hey, we actually do support pause and resume (double tap the main button during recording). While native Google Drive support is not in the current version, we recommend using a service like IFTTT to move or copy incoming recordings from Dropbox to other storage providers. It's also our recommended path to integrate other services like transcription into your individual workflow as Dropbox is well supported by most workflow services. (Native's still coming, though.). recup@irradiatedsoftware.com ### 4/5 — Very Good app, but needs update for Online meeting recording *2021-05-08* App is very good for easy, quick and accurate recording. The app needs an update so Zoom, Microsoft Teams and Google Meet meetings can be recorded through a wireless Bluetooth headset (for example using Apple Air Pods). The last update was 3 years ago and before the pandemic where online meetings are now a major part of everyone’s life. However, the existing version is still recommended. ### 3/5 — Really love it but... *2019-07-07, version 3.2.2* This app is exactly what I want... Which is timestamped high quality audio recordings saved to the dropbox folder of my choice. Unfortunately, its happened 3 times now that I recorded something and the audio file is glitchy and unintelligible. There is either an issue recording or saving the file. I hope they fix it soon. PS if the code is open source, I’d love to see if I can fix it. ### 5/5 — Requires access to entire Dropbox account? *2019-04-22* EDIT: from response seems this is possible, just hard to find **Developer response:** Hi, Sorry that you feel disappointed. If you keep holding the connect button a popup will appear where you can use App Folder Access instead of Full Access to your Dropbox. This and more options and features are also described on our help page that you can access via the question mark button on the settings screen. We try to keep the interface as uncluttered as possible, but probably will make the popup appear without the long press with the next update. I am a voiceover user. I would love it if you could make the app have a progress indicator to show how much time is left before the upload is complete. I don’t like sitting in waiting guessing at the time until it’s done. Especially when I make hour long recordings. If you can do that, I will give you five stars. Simple and elegant and works flawlessly. I just wish there was an option to have the app icon's badge indicate the number of unplayed recordings I have, because currently, I make voice notes for myself, using the app as a sort of to do list, and then I forget for a few days that I have recordings to play back.. :-) I have to remember myself to periodically check the folder on my mac. But still is a 5-star app no doubt. [Update: I set up web service Zapier and used their "Get email alerts for new Dropbox files in a directory" zap, and connected it to the RecUp folder in my Dropbox folder. Now my RecUp recordings get automatically emailed straight to me, which means I no longer forget about them, and they get archived in my email account, so I can clear them out of Dropbox and know that I still have them saved somewhere.] ### 5/5 — Perfect *2017-08-06* I have used it twice a week for a few years, to record my own lectures. I don’t know my Dropbox info. Super annoying it doesn’t work just by downloading it. Hate it. ### 1/5 — Doesn’t work with Dropbox 2FA *2018-01-30* Once you leave the app to get the code it makes you restart the auth flow. ### 1/5 — Impossible to use *2017-04-25* Linking to Dropbox (and therefore using RecUp) is basically impossible, at least with 2FA, since RecUp does not use the Dropbox app, does not offer 1Password support and when you manually switch to the latter and back, the in-app browser with the Dropbox login page is gone and you have to start anew. **Developer response:** Good news: Support for external login via the Dropbox app is back again and should ensure all future authentication mechanisms will work as expected. No option to playback the material on your phone, or to store locally. You're really dependent on the app not to screw up (which it may be doing right now. I'll let you know if I get fired.) ### 1/5 — Lost all my voice memos!!! *2011-10-17, version 1.2* So the idea for this app is nice but in practice it has a FATAL flaw... I can't access my voice memos in the app. When the app works as advertised it's fine... but when something goes wrong... and the memos you record do not sync... there is no way to retrieve them. I lost a couple weeks of voice memos with no way to get them back. I contacted the developers but they said there was nothing they could do and they didn't have plans to add the ability to organize and access the memos. Simplicity ease of use and reliability have been fantastic for years. Unfortunately, it disconnected from my Dropbox account, and I can't seem to reestablish it. I did remove the Dropbox app from my iPhone and reinstall, but it's still not working. **Developer response:** Hi, thank you for the great review. Keeping RecUp safe and reliable is our key concern.
