## What is RED_CONTROL?

The RED Control App gives users complete control over their V-RAPTOR™ or KOMODO™ Camera. This free app is easy to use and controls the camera directly from your iOS device.  The app offers users a unique customizable interface and the ability to live stream from the camera, navigate the entire menu, and offers both portrait and landscape modes with a full-screen option.   
 
Note: RED Control App is compatible with V-RAPTOR, V-RAPTOR XL, V-RAPTOR X and XE, KOMODO-X, and KOMODO 6K only. Not available for use with DSMC2 or previous generation RED cameras.  
Lens control requires a compatible electronic lens.

Terrible connection stability when in ad-hoc mode, even when I’m less than 10ft from camera. The app constantly disconnects when using.

Lots of features…if your camera will connect. Many problems getting the app to connect to the camera directly or over existing WiFi networks. When I managed to get it connected, video display has a 10-15 second delay. About 1fps. Tried this over multiple different networks. Even usb connectivity was much delayed and connection was hard to obtain. So lots of controls, but almost no way to connect to those controls rendering the app literally unusable. Had this problem for about 18 months now. No solutions from RED.

This app no longer works in the current 2.6 build. I have the latestest firmware on my komodo, and on my iPhone 15pro, and after allllll the troubleshooting the app still wont recognize my camera. My iPad, running an earlier version of the app 2.4.6 is working fine. There is no way to download a previous version of the app and red isn’t answering.

It’s hand downs the best camera control app from any manufacturer. It allows to to have the total control of the Red Camera, every button can be customised, there are no artificial limitations, unlike the apps from Sony or canon. I have also an ARRI Alexa, and the app from ARRI is nowhere close to this one.
