## Newest reviews (13 of 65)

### 3/5 — Scan hard to find

*2026-05-15, version 4.5*

Same issue as previous review: the app forces a number one so you can’t paste your phone number, it’s hard to find app scan feature (must have map open. Apparently it’s in the top left). The charging session takes over the app screen while charging, but it doesn’t update.

### 2/5 — Janky

*2026-05-12, version 4.5*

The app is super janky. The search does not work. At least I can find the charging location on the map by zooming and scrolling.

### 3/5 — 2 items

*2025-10-12, version 4.0*

The app worked but I encountered two issues. The first issue was the phone number field automatically adds a “1”. This lead to issues because my phone also added a “1” when filling the field with the saved info resulting in incorrect phone number being entered. The other issue is the location of the QR reader. You must have the app open to “map” and know the QR scan icon is in the upper left.

### 3/5 — Great network, app needs work

*2025-09-24, version 3.8*

Please add filters so we can see just L2 or just DC Fast chargers! Or better yet, make some roaming agreements and let us find your stations in other apps like ChargePoint or Flo.

### 1/5 — App worthless, and so is the charger…

*2025-09-22, version 3.8*

Two stalls. One has been in an error state for months based on what I saw and PlugShare info. The other seems fine but when starting up has a communication error every time. No support I could find. The app takes my info but doesn’t seem to actually interact with the chargers - no benefit vs just tapping a card (assuming the charger even worked).

### 1/5 — worst charging app to exist

*2025-08-26, version 3.8*

genuinely terrible, i'm not sure who manufactured this app but they need to re do it. 99% of the time it glitches saying plug car in when i haven't selected a connector and it makes you re enter your credit information on the web page. the app literally is worse than temu because at least temu functions properly. delete and restart please.

### 1/5 — Useless/shamefull

*2025-08-22, version 3.8*

Search function useless. If I type in a zip code or city +state it zooms to a different city in another state. If I zoom into the map where I know there is a Red-e charger, it shows nothing

### 1/5 — Can’t ever register

*2025-07-16, version 3.8*

Just get a generic ‘too_short’ message upon trying to register, embarrassing, clown dev stuff, like I’m gonna trust them with my data!

Off to another charging point

### 2/5 — Couldn’t get app to work

*2025-06-22, version 3.8*

I downloaded the app and was able to make an acct but then when I tried to accept terms and conditions it kept saying something went wrong. Luckily you can just use tap to pay at the station and the charger did get up to 125 kWh speeds

### 1/5 — doesn’t work at all

*2025-06-04, version 3.7*

can’t reach them. The app does not work and neither does contacting them. If you find a machine, it might work, but this app does not connect you to it. major overhaul needed. I think this is a completely neglected company.

### 1/5 — Balky at best

*2025-04-10, version 3.4*

Often skips the landing screen making it impossible charge the vehicle. Terrible software.

### 2/5 — No filters to find chargers that are compatible with my car.

*2025-04-07, version 3.4*

There are no filters to filter out chargers your car isn’t compatible with. (most PHEV’s can’t use CCS chargers)

### 1/5 — Non working chargers

*2025-02-18, version 3.1*

Six brand new chargers just outside of Waco, always under repair. Now not a single one working. Useless.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Poor everything

*2026-08-13, version 4.9*

Went to go charge a few miles away from the campsite, touchscreen did not work and the app is virtually garbage. I can't even charge simply from the app by entering my bank info whoever designed this needs to go back to school.

### 1/5 — Can’t even create an account

*2026-08-09, version 4.8*

Tried charging my car at this station and it wouldn’t work through their QR code. Tried downloading the app and it wouldn’t allow me to make an account.

### 1/5 — Clunky, poorly designed, does not work right

*2026-07-03, version 4.5*

App states chargers are functional when they aren’t. 10/10 do not recommend.

### 1/5 — App loses track of charging session

*2026-06-14, version 4.5*

The app loses track of the charging session, saying that the charger “faulted” despite the charge continuing as normal (confirmed from the EVSE display and the vehicle)

### 1/5 — Terrible App, good cust. Service

*2026-06-04, version 4.5*

Try to register on the app and every time you make a little mistake it completely wiped out all your info. Terrible terrible app.

### 1/5 — Easy to set up, did not work.

*2026-05-16, version 4.5*

Easy to setup but never charged our Tesla. Tried multiple times and multiple stations. That may explain why all the charging stations were available.

### 1/5 — Terrible

*2026-01-30, version 4.2*

High cost to use charging station, super slow charging even with a low battery, and terrible card reading machine. Not user friendly. Better off using different charging station. Never again will i use this

### 1/5 — Trash

*2026-01-22, version 4.2*

Steals $50 from you every time then charges you the correct amount 2-3 days later. Completely unacceptable. I charge my mother’s car for her which now that I’ve experienced living with an electric vehicle I see absolutely no benefit whatsoever, and Red E stations only add to my disdain. Capitalism ruins innovation yet again.

### 1/5 — Worse than useless

*2025-12-07, version 4.1*

Red E is a charging network like Blink, EA, etc. right? Nope. They tell you in app/on website to use ChargeHub for payment. So it’s like ABRP, right? Nope has no route planner.

So Red E refuses to do the route planning work and also the finance work, what task DO you do, Red E? O honestly want to know.

### 1/5 — Can’t accept terms

*2025-11-25, version 4.1*

Anytime the terms change the app won’t let me accept them. I’ve submitted three tickets to the company and called them. I had it resolved once but the issue just came back. It has rendered the app completely unusable. It’s really disappointing because I’d like to use the network.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — It works

*2026-02-18, version 4.2*

The app works. I’ve used it 4 times now at various charging spots. It can be finicky but you just have to be patient and be slightly tech savvy. Otherwise, the chargers and app works fine.

### 5/5 — Can’t sign up

*2025-11-20, version 4.1*

I’m trying to create an account on the app, but after I enter the OTP code that’s sent, the Verify button isn’t accessible to click through.

### 5/5 — It’s Better in 2025

*2025-09-06, version 3.8*

New EV Owner and I’ve tried several charging stations and apps. Red E is has a competitive price, and no additional fees. The stations have the charge cables on swing bars, so you’re not wrestling with a dirty cable. There is also a phone number on a large screen, can’t miss it. Best of All a real Human answers the phone!!!! Who can actually help if you need assistance. (No Ai, Love It)
The charger connected with no problems. 💕

### 5/5 — The bees knees

*2025-08-07, version 3.8*

Love it

### 5/5 — The Best!

*2025-08-07, version 3.8*

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

### 5/5 — Love Red E

*2025-08-07, version 3.8*

I love charging with Red E, so fast and simple to use!!!

### 5/5 — Better than most

*2025-08-07, version 3.8*

App is simple, lightweight, and easy to use/navigate. Easy to find a charging station, tracks usage, and has a friendly intuitive UI. Chargers are dependable and their support team is 24/7/365 and are all locally based in the US. They always answer the phone, are always patient, and always extremely helpful. Keep up the great work Red E!

### 5/5 — Simple and Easy

*2024-10-15*

This app lets you find and easily start charging sessions. They let you save credit cards for easy payment and see the prices of stations as well as which are in use. Really nice and simple interface!

### 5/5 — Easy as a gas pump

*2024-07-07, version 2.5*

I hate apps in general - this DCFC station app was by far the easiest to use and more importantly I didn’t need to use it as I tapped to pay with a CC. I’ve charged multiple times with app and CC and spend the same if not lees as if I was paying for gas at a gas pump. Simple is better, great job

### 5/5 — Fast reliable charging network

*2024-04-26, version 2.4*

My preferred charging network when traveling. Fast reliable chargers at competitive prices!
