## What is Red Passport?

Not offered by any authority. Our own learning questions, not the cantons’ exam questions.

Becoming Swiss and preparing for the test or the interview? Or Swiss already and wondering whether you would pass the naturalisation test? Red Passport explains Switzerland in plain words: politics, rights and duties, history, geography, society and culture, plus your canton and your commune. Everything works offline.

WOULD YOU PASS?
• The quick test with 15 mixed questions, for everyone
• At the end, your result on a ballot paper, as a picture to share
• Then every question with its explanation

LEARN
• Over 1,800 questions of our own on the Confederation and all 26 cantons
• For every answer a short explanation and the source, often with the wording of the law
• Over 70 learning pages in plain language
• “Learn today”: what you don’t know yet comes back more often
• Retry your mistakes, bookmarks, progress by topic
• Map questions on a real map of Switzerland

PRACTICE TEST
• In your canton’s format where it is published: Zurich, Bern, Aargau, Vaud and Ticino, plus Neuchâtel as an oral test
• For all other cantons the practice test Switzerland with 50 questions
• Overview, flag questions, results by area
• Readiness: what you already know and what is still missing
• “Practise the interview” for the cantons that test orally

MY CANTON
• How naturalisation works in your canton: test or interview, format, language, who examines you
• Your canton’s learning material and practice tests, linked directly
• All 26 cantons compared

IN YOUR LANGUAGE
• Questions in your canton’s test language: German, French or Italian
• The translation into your language with one tap
• The app in English, German, French and Italian

FOR EVERYONE
• iPhone and iPad, large text, VoiceOver, dark mode
• No account, no tracking: your progress stays on your device

TO BE CLEAR
The cantons’ question catalogues are protected. So Red Passport has its own questions on the subjects of the naturalisation tests, based on official sources such as the Federal Constitution, the Swiss Citizenship Act, the Federal Statistical Office and the cantons’ websites. Every question names its source. Laws are quoted in their official wording in German, French or Italian; there is no official English version. The app expressly recommends the cantons’ own practice tests. Some content was written with the help of AI and checked against the sources given. As of October 2026.
