But to give 1 coin for an add is terrible. There is the daily reading but it stops at 60 minutes, in my opinion from all the other apps I have let’s just say it’s sparse. I will have to put this app on the back burner and maybe revisit in a year or so to see if it has improved. There are great apps out there that are free and some with only 1 add in between chapters. **Developer response:** Thank you so much for sharing your experience. We hope you'll continue to enjoy the app and stick with us! ### 3/5 — First Story on App Has Annoying Issue *2025-07-13* I just downloaded the App to read my first story. The plot is interesting but there is a doer annoying issue with the story. The characters keeping referring to each other by their first and last names in conversations. There were conversations between best friends, husband and wife, and mom/daughter brother. Real people don’t communicate like this. It’s annoying and unrealistic. Is this story written by AI? If so adjust the program. If this continues, I may delete the App. Too much money for me to be annoyed by this weird writing habit. ### 2/5 — Updates *2025-07-10, version 2.0.0* I’m enjoying the book I have been reading however I am now waiting for an update to an unfinished story. I don’t like that! There’s no timeline on when the update is coming, I find this very unprofessional. ### 2/5 — Short chapters excess ads *2025-07-06, version 2.0.0* I am now up to 33 ads just to read one ridiculously short chapter which means they are pulling in money and wasting my time. ### 3/5 — Review *2025-07-02* Well-written stories so far, but could use a little proof-reading, especially regarding pronouns. I expected that I would have to watch ads for that privilege and wasn’t surprised that I had to watch 1 ad for the first blocked chapter. However, every chapter after that I had to watch 1 additional ad every time. I am now at 18 ads to watch for a chapter that has two and a half pages to it. 18 ads. I thought for sure that they would stop adding additional ads to watch, but I was wrong. Basically, they are trying to wear you down so you’ll pay for the chapters. Therefore they lied, technically, because they know that people are going to give up. I’m done, not to pay, but to leave. ### 2/5 — Good story options, but not a good app *2025-06-18* This app has some decent stories, and I appreciate that you have the option to watch ads in between chapters rather than paying for coins. But I rate it low for a couple reasons: 1) there is no subscription option, so if you wanted to pay for a book, it would be well over $50-70 USD, and 2) it eats an iPhone’s battery SO fast and overheats it - just from reading, not even from the ads! The only place that I can read it, but I already did the math it will take me close to two months to finish it. With every chapter being unlocked in 8 hours, I only read 2 chapters a day and one extra if I have the coins. The chapters are short and paying out of pocket I’d rather go buy a physical book. I am only reading because the story is good, I don’t plan on keeping the app afterwards. ### 2/5 — Believe the 1 and 2 star reviews *2025-06-15* First off, the stories I have tried are engaging. The writing is not great with a lot of mistakes. But the stories leave you excited to keep reading. Then the problems come in. #1 - the app does not accurately track your progress in a story. Often you’ll have to go back over chapters you’ve already read, and occasionally have to pay for those chapters again. #2 - the price is too high for a chapter. 30 tokens for a chapter, which may only be three pages long, is not a good price. One book I wanted to read has over 1000 chapters to it. #3 - the non-pay option is flawed (my opinion) because it involves watching ads (anywhere from 10 seconds to a minute and a half) which start at one ad and then increases 1 ad for each additional chapter you use this method on. ### 2/5 — Annoying *2025-06-14, version 1.4.0* The book I’m reading is not too bad, though when they use the first and last names every time is horrible. Then to read chapters? Woaaah! I’m up to 12 ads to read a five page chapter that last 2 minutes. Ads about 10 minutes. Is it going up every chapter? Yes. There is about 80 chapters in the book. How does that work?!!!! ### 1/5 — Waste of money and time. *2025-06-12* I love to read stories and books. I read them all the time. But these are tiny chapters barely 3 pages long for 30 coins and you can buy 500 coins for $4.99. Considering most of these stories are close to 30 chapters long, that makes for something like $9 for a story that’s maybe half the length of a $4.99 kindle story. Oh, but you CAN watch ads but you have to watch 9 ADS, to unlock a a chapter. That’s about 5 minutes of ads for about 2 minutes of read time or it unlocks 1 chapter every 8 hours. I’m sorry, but that’s just too much. ### 3/5 — Workable *2025-06-10, version 1.3.2* You can use the app. It’s slow and the 10 long ads for a very short “chapter” will drain your battery terribly. I have only tried 1 book and the book I was reading was truly dark and awful. Very nihilist. I hope there are other nicer books on the app but I doubt it. Will be deleting the app ### 1/5 — Worse app *2025-06-08* Anyone who gave this app 3 or more stars is a bot. I have several reading apps and this one is the worse. I should not have to watch 14 ads to unlock one chapter followed by watching 15 ads for the next chapter and so on. Who in their right mind came up with this? Did the developer watch 50+ ads to unlock 1 chapter for 100+ chapter book? Have just read that chapter and the story is unfinished and leaves you in midair. What an absolute waste of time! Originally I did not want to waste any money purchasing coins so I was only able to read 2 chapters a day. Today I succumbed and bought coins as I was desperate to get to the conclusion of the story. What a total waste of time! There are no further chapters but the story is totally unfinished. I have completely wasted 95 days on this book. It’s a total con. ### 1/5 — Was 5 stars until 2 days ago! *2025-08-20, version 2.1.0* Love the story The Branded Queen I have finished chapter 196 and I can’t move forward! The story hasn’t finished probably only a few chapters left but I can’t go onto the next chapter. I want to know what happens! Looking forward to continue when this is sorted! ### 1/5 — No new chapters and no new stories *2025-08-14* My biggest complaints about this app are 1. While there are some “Completed” stories that do have endings, others are marked as “Completed” but leave off in the middle of the story; 2. The “Ongoing” stories are never updated with new chapters; and 3. There doesn’t appear to be any new stories being added. On the plus side, there is at least the option to watch ads to unlock chapters, unlike other apps that only allow the user to watch x number of apps per day to earn coins, and there are short ads every few chapters that allow the user to earn bonus coins, which I’ve also not come across in other apps. **Developer response:** We’re glad you’ve noticed the features that allow watching ads to unlock chapters and earn bonus coins — our team worked hard to make the app flexible for readers. It takes every bit of 20 min worth of ridiculous repetitive ads to read less than 5 min of reading…horrible ### 1/5 — BELIEVE THE ONE STAR RATINGS! *2025-07-14* More than two stars is a bot!! These stories Too expensive, too many ads/ad breaks required for a short chapter, the AI writing is sometimes decent but not edited, and after 196 chapters of one story and a month of waiting, the book is still not updated and I can’t finish the story unless I read several of the app’s other books “while I wait”, of course paying for those also unfinished stories. In the meantime I can’t go back to the original book I was reading because I no longer have access to the chapters I paid for unless I pay again. This developer is scammy and money grubbing and has three other book reading apps that scam your money the same way (buy coins, still watch a ton of ads and never finish a book). There’s no effective reporting issues, no follow up and no satisfaction. The dev’s website is a glorified landing page and giving anymore money feels wrong. I’m over this developer and deleting. ### 1/5 — Disgusted *2025-07-08* I’m new to the app. The book I started reading the branded Queen. I’m at 25th chapter and the heroine since the first chapter has been beaten, raped, clawed or starved. What a horrible story! I kept thinking it get better, keeps getting worse. There are a total of 196 chapters. These chapters are short. So if you want to get through all 196 it’ll cost you around $50 US dollars. Save yourself the money, go your local libraries online site and check out free electronic books. Ive spent less money on a paper that has more content than these dragged out little stories. ### 1/5 — Too many ads *2025-06-24* I have cancer and have been on chemo for 8 years, I like to read to keep my mind off of my health issues. You have to watch ads to read the next chapter, it starts out with 1 ad then increases with each chapter. I had to watch 30 ads which took me longer to watch than it did to read the 6 page chapter. So I decided to purchase “coins” I spent $30 on coins which didn’t get me very far. It’s absolutely ridiculous, I could purchase a paperback book for less than $10 and read it as many times as I want. The other issue is there’s very little dialogue, way too much inner monologue and scenery descriptions. And the first 1-2 paragraphs of the next chapter basically repeats the end of the previous chapter. So the first page in a 6 page chapter is just filler. I realize the author and the app need to make money but how much money do you need to make off of one person for Pete’s sake?! Especially someone like me with serious health issues and limited income? Oh wait maybe these authors are the digital nomads we hear so much about, traveling all over the world, constantly on vacations that the readers are paying for. Which is fine but having to charge each reader so much money makes me think you must not have very many people downloading the app. ### 1/5 — Not worth it *2025-06-19* Tantalizing story in an ad. Downloading the app. At first I thought the chapters of this book were longer than stories I’ve read in other book apps, but not really Repetitive. Minor changes to wording that paint the same emotion/scene. Over. And Over. And Over. I accidentally backed into a previous chapter, and it wouldn’t allow me to return to the next chapter that I’d barely started. The app wanted me to pay again… maybe 5 seconds on the accidental return to the previous chapter. Chapter 8 is the last chapter read in the book, but Chapter 6 is the last chapter that I can see without paying (in one way or another) to access Chapters 7 & 8. I’m willing to watch ads, but the review complaints about increasing quantities of ads required per chapter are more than I’m willing to invest. Good story hook in the ad, but 2 days and only 8 (repetitive) chapters into the story. I’m done. My interest in the story is gone. The amount of detail, the way they've developed their characters, evolved the story plot, drawn me into the story WITHOUT it becoming monotonous even as it lengthens, is quite impressive. I would LOVE to read their work without the interruptions etc. It takes away from the quality of the work when there is a constant attempt to split off into new chapters. The reason I enjoy reading is because I can control the flow of my entertainment. I can be swept away with a story and read for hours, without having to worry about being interrupted just as it's getting good for a commercial. Reading this way, takes that ability away. It's frustrating and typically I don't enjoy it at all. All that to say that this author has drawn me into her story regardless! I couldn’t finish my first because it was all background and feelings but without any details. This story contains, at least the first few chapters, more feelings than details or substance. Looking forward to your updated review! ### 3/5 — App Cheats you out of chapters *2025-11-22* so far I like the two books I have read, however… the app cheats you out of a chapter when you wait eight hours if you have enough coins to purchase the chapter. It actually forces you to use your bonus coins. Instead of giving you the free chapter after waiting eight hours. I have screenshots. After you use your coins, it then gives you a message saying that the chapter was unlocked via timer… even though you used your bonus coins to open the chapter.
