Download the app and easy to use. Two years later, it won’t connect through the Bluetooth so you can monitor your food. The devise shows the connection but it just cycles through for about 30 seconds and that’s it. You can still check the temp but can’t set the alarm to go off when it reaches desired temperature. ### 3/5 — Not bad *2019-06-16, version 2.4* Easy to use but should do an update! Having to scroll between probes when all the screen space could easily display them (like in menu screen) all makes it feel clunky and under thought. The device and iPhone connect every time without problems. The ciritical issue I have is that the alarm (a really great, LOUD alarm) will not work if you bring another app to the front. The problem occurs when using the iPhone Clock app and others. Other products I've used that did not connect to the iPhone but had alarms built into their remote were all too faint to be useful so I was thrilled to find this iPhone connections. Now I'm again frustrated and hunting. I bake a lot of bread and depend on a good alarm. ### 3/5 — Room for improvement *2016-04-02, version 2.2* Works ok at close range but loses connection a lot if you move away. It would be nice if you can see all the probe temperatures on one page too. ### 3/5 — Not bad. Rang is very limiting. *2016-03-29, version 2.2* I want to love this and rate it 5 stars but the lack of range kills it. If you're in range it works and works very well. People with connection probkems just need to make sure the probes are in first then pair and turn on. It is supposed to work up to 160' but I get maybe 30' with only a glass door between me and the unit. As far as the app, it needs a few upgrades including: Ability to set different alarms for different alerts. A disconnect alarm. ​Apple watch app to help extend range another 30'. Not showing every BT device in range at start up or some distinguishing characteristic of the right one other than just BT address. ### 3/5 — Good but could be better with connectivity *2016-01-27, version 2.2* All in all this app and system is pretty good however the Bluetooth range is a little on the weak side my car has better range so does my hands free I just wish they could somehow extend the range so I can do other things while in a 14 hour smoke and maybe a different alarm tone would be nice as well but not bad ### 2/5 — Connectivity problems to 11 *2015-12-24, version 2.1* Won't connect or app hangs on connecting. Can only get to connect with hard restart of transmitter. Once connected either app crashes or even worse just hangs and you don't realize it's hung until you realize your temp hasn't fluctuated at all in some time. Two stars just for the hardware because the probes are quality and the transmitter unit seems fairly accurate relative to other thermometers I have... ### 4/5 — Great thermometer *2015-08-24, version 2.1* Love almost everything about this product. This has typical Bluetooth connectivity. I wish the Wi-fi version was out, I would have bought that first. Now, this is a great idea. This device does prevent me from constantly running out to check two or three different thermometers. Awesome. Has this helped my smoking, yes. I can relax and watch what's going on and see the trend in temp. Which brings me to another point. The next software version should have a graph. I would love to see how much my oven temperatures swing when I'm making bread or the temperature of the smoker itself. I would also like the numbers to be larger. I'm not sure why the picture of the type of meat is so huge, but that picture and the numbers need to be reversed. That way, a phone can be set down, at maximum distance, and watched from another distance. There also needs to be a setting for those of us who could care less about the type of meat. Numbers only!! If possible, a screw-on, telescoping antenna wouldn't be a bad idea either. Let's be honest. If you're going to spend $70-$80 for this, what's another $15-$30. I'd also like to see a nice little case come with this or sold on the website. Extension cords for the probes would be a great item. They're the typical length but I find myself needing to place this out of direct sunlight or for the usual Colorado afternoon rainstorm and I can't because cover is another 2 feet away. Tupperware works for the water and a cardboard lean-to for the heat. In addition to the little slider button on the top of the app, I wish you could just swipe left or right to the next probe. ### 5/5 — Great app! *2016-01-16, version 2.1* Love it! A swipe left/right would be good to select the next probe. And a graph if possible. ### 4/5 — Bluetooth connection issues! *2020-09-18, version 3.0* My Redi Chek ET-735 worked flawlessly until I purchased a new iPhone SE in recent weeks. Now the barbecue thermometer will not connect via Bluetooth. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the app from the App Store with no change. It appears the last app update was over nine months ago. Range is OK but not great; easily reconnects when back in range. Room for improvement: 1-notify me when it disconnects; 2-add a plot of probe temp vs time. Could benefit from a few enhancements *2015-12-24, version 2.1* App does a good job of displaying temps and alerting when out of range (temp and signal). Two things would greatly improve: 1. Histogram of sensor temps for a given cook and the ability to export/print/save along with notes (eg ambient temp, wind, type of fire) 2. Better use of real estate.
