### 2/5 — The Bluetooth

*2021-05-09, version 3.0*

When I first purchased this item it worked great. Download the app and easy to use. Two years later, it won’t connect through the Bluetooth so you can monitor your food. The devise shows the connection but it just cycles through for about 30 seconds and that’s it. You can still check the temp but can’t set the alarm to go off when it reaches desired temperature.

### 3/5 — Not bad

*2019-06-16, version 2.4*

Easy to use but should do an update!
Things like showing temp trends up or down would be great. Also an option to mute alarm would be nice.

### 3/5 — Needs some upgrades

*2018-01-04, version 2.3*

Ap works as a simple readout and alarm. Having to scroll between probes when all the screen space could easily display them (like in menu screen) all makes it feel clunky and under thought. A graph/ plot of the time/temp for all active probes would take this to a 5 star in a hurry.

### 2/5 — Poor execution

*2017-12-27, version 2.3*

I have the Bluetooth unit and the app is awful. For $70.00, they could spend some time on the app.

### 2/5 — Could be better

*2017-05-22, version 2.3*

Drops connection too easily, has trouble in my living room 30' away from bbq in back yard

### 3/5 — Best I've found, but....a silent alarm issue

*2016-11-30, version 2.3*

This works and the remote will work fine across the house, inside and out. The device and iPhone connect every time without problems.

The ciritical issue I have is that the alarm (a really great, LOUD alarm) will not work if you bring another app to the front. The problem occurs when using the iPhone Clock app and others.

Other products I've used that did not connect to the iPhone but had alarms built into their remote were all too faint to be useful so I was thrilled to find this iPhone connections. Now I'm again frustrated and hunting. I bake a lot of bread and depend on a good alarm.

### 3/5 — Room for improvement

*2016-04-02, version 2.2*

Works ok at close range but loses connection a lot if you move away. It would be nice if you can see all the probe temperatures on one page too.

### 3/5 — Not bad. Rang is very limiting.

*2016-03-29, version 2.2*

I want to love this and rate it 5 stars but the lack of range kills it.

If you're in range it works and works very well. People with connection probkems just need to make sure the probes are in first then pair and turn on.

It is supposed to work up to 160' but I get maybe 30' with only a glass door between me and the unit.

As far as the app, it needs a few upgrades including:
Ability to set different alarms for different alerts.
A disconnect alarm.
Apple watch app to help extend range another 30'.
Not showing every BT device in range at start up or some distinguishing characteristic of the right one other than just BT address.

### 3/5 — Good but could be better with connectivity

*2016-01-27, version 2.2*

All in all this app and system is pretty good however the Bluetooth range is a little on the weak side my car has better range so does my hands free I just wish they could somehow extend the range so I can do other things while in a 14 hour smoke and maybe a different alarm tone would be nice as well but not bad

### 2/5 — Connectivity problems to 11

*2015-12-24, version 2.1*

Won't connect or app hangs on connecting. Can only get to connect with hard restart of transmitter. Once connected either app crashes or even worse just hangs and you don't realize it's hung until you realize your temp hasn't fluctuated at all in some time. Two stars just for the hardware because the probes are quality and the transmitter unit seems fairly accurate relative to other thermometers I have...

### 4/5 — Great thermometer

*2015-08-24, version 2.1*

Love almost everything about this product. I don't like the slider bar in the app. I wish they would change it to push button style for switching between probes.

### 1/5 — Doesn’t connect anymore

*2021-11-24, version 3.0*

Used to work but will not connect to Bluetooth. You can see the device but no connection. App needs upgrading

### 1/5 — Doesn’t work

*2021-07-12, version 3.0*

The app does not speak with a device. I have tried everything. Would like to give us zero stars.

### 1/5 — Broken app

*2021-02-27, version 3.0*

App is currently broken, cannot connect to thermometer.

### 1/5 — Redi check

*2020-12-25, version 3.0*

Trash!

### 1/5 — Broken on current iOS

*2020-09-12, version 3.0*

This app is not connecting to the thermometer with the latest update of iOS.

This seriously borks the thermometer since alarms are only set able through the app

### 1/5 — No longer works on IOS devices

*2020-06-08, version 3.0*

This app no longer works on our iphone or ipad (it used to). It does still work on an android phone we have but it is definitely not our preferred device. What changed?

### 1/5 — Peice of junk

*2018-03-10, version 2.3*

Won’t connect to iPhone 7 Plus with ET-735. Only their old 💩 inched app works but that app is outdated and useless.

Not happy!

### 1/5 — Waste of time

*2018-01-18, version 2.3*

Try and try again. Won’t pair with iPhoneX. So frustrated. Tried everything. Can’t get money back.

### 1/5 — Hopeless

*2015-10-24, version 2.1*

This is the worst app ever. It keeps dropping out and I will be returning the whole thing

### 1/5 — First App is Better

*2015-08-01, version 2.0*

This app doesn't support IPAD this would be ok for a phone. App doesn't screen rotate, can't swipe between probes. This is updated junk. I'll be at the old version that works. If this isn't fixed, I'll be on the Igrill.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Makes smoking more enjoyable

*2016-05-15, version 2.2*

My review in the App Store.

First off. This has typical Bluetooth connectivity. I wish the Wi-fi version was out, I would have bought that first. Now, this is a great idea. This device does prevent me from constantly running out to check two or three different thermometers. Awesome. Has this helped my smoking, yes. I can relax and watch what's going on and see the trend in temp. Which brings me to another point. The next software version should have a graph. I would love to see how much my oven temperatures swing when I'm making bread or the temperature of the smoker itself. I would also like the numbers to be larger. I'm not sure why the picture of the type of meat is so huge, but that picture and the numbers need to be reversed. That way, a phone can be set down, at maximum distance, and watched from another distance. There also needs to be a setting for those of us who could care less about the type of meat. Numbers only!! If possible, a screw-on, telescoping antenna wouldn't be a bad idea either. Let's be honest. If you're going to spend $70-$80 for this, what's another $15-$30. I'd also like to see a nice little case come with this or sold on the website. Extension cords for the probes would be a great item. They're the typical length but I find myself needing to place this out of direct sunlight or for the usual Colorado afternoon rainstorm and I can't because cover is another 2 feet away. Tupperware works for the water and a cardboard lean-to for the heat. In addition to the little slider button on the top of the app, I wish you could just swipe left or right to the next probe.

### 5/5 — Great app!

*2016-01-16, version 2.1*

Love it!

A swipe left/right would be good to select the next probe.

And a graph if possible.

### 4/5 — Bluetooth connection issues!

*2020-09-18, version 3.0*

My Redi Chek ET-735 worked flawlessly until I purchased a new iPhone SE in recent weeks. Now the barbecue thermometer will not connect via Bluetooth. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the app from the App Store with no change. It appears the last app update was over nine months ago. Other than this a great product.

### 4/5 — Due an update

*2018-12-23, version 2.4*

Great thermometer, app is ok but long overdue for update and new features that new products to the market come with as standard. Are you still supporting the app?

### 4/5 — Feedback

*2018-07-09, version 2.3*

Decent app. Didn’t take long to figure out how to use (and avoiding the user manual). Bluetooth range is limited, would prefer wifi.
Also suggest to a “landscape” (rotated) view.

### 4/5 — What Ricdanger said

*2018-04-01, version 2.3*

Ricdanger has nailed it. Implement those improvements not only a 5 star rating but I’ll be promoting it all over town as the digital thermometer to get! It’s a great system but those improvements would make it one of the best!

### 4/5 — Good overall, needs plot/history.

*2016-10-05, version 2.2*

Pairing was easy. Range is OK but not great; easily reconnects when back in range. Room for improvement: 1-notify me when it disconnects; 2-add a plot of probe temp vs time. This would especially be useful for tracking smoke temp control over long duration cooks.

### 4/5 — Needs graphing function!!!

*2016-01-24, version 2.1*

Simple app to use, but wish it had a graphing feature to see temperature changes during long cooks/smokes.

### 4/5 — Basically sound. Could benefit from a few enhancements

*2015-12-24, version 2.1*

App does a good job of displaying temps and alerting when out of range (temp and signal).

Two things would greatly improve:
1. Histogram of sensor temps for a given cook and the ability to export/print/save along with notes (eg ambient temp, wind, type of fire)
2. Better use of real estate. No point showing me a picture of beef, give me each of the four probe details including upper/lower limits, current temp and trend over last ten minutes.

### 4/5 — Need a review graph

*2015-11-24, version 2.1*

Great app and haven't had the connectivity issues others have had but it needs a record of the cook which we can use to analyse for future cook offs
