The start of the game is fairly easy, meaning our 4 year old is able to play some of it and our 7 year old enjoys the continual stream of new challenges, which get harder and more sophisticated as the game progresses. The graphics and music are charming. Overall, definitely a hit! A couple of comments/ observations having played the game for a year: It’s unclear how the game actually ends. Progress is regularly over 100% and even though it appears that we’ve collected everything and defeated the mad king, it’s still possible to navigate through the kingdom endlessly. It would be useful to know either up front how many nuts, treasure etc there are to find, or to be notified when they have all been collected. Stats would also be useful eg what is the fastest time and average times to complete, what are high scores etc? A ‘hint’ button for younger players who get stuck would be good. ### 3/5 — Fun, but *2020-05-27, version 1.5.1* A cute, enjoyable game, but due to a bug I can’t finish it. Towards the end of the game, while chasing the king, there is a room with two wheels and four light bulbs. The switch in the middle should be triggered by the king, but it wasn’t. I can’t get out of this room, now. I’ve tried restarting several times, but it stays the same. Disappointing. ### 3/5 — iCloud ? *2018-02-28, version 1.5.1* I love this game. But wish it has iCloud game sync. ### 3/5 — Good but could be better *2017-10-01, version 1.4* The puzzles were fun and sometimes challenging as you roll around to escape rooms, collect acorns, search for the golden acorn, and find the dad. The characters are cute, but what docked the game for me was that I had to do a lot of backtracking to get between sections of the game even with the teleporters. It got slightly annoying to redo the same levels I had already beat. More teleporters or an easier way to reach your new opened sections from the map screen would be nice. If it wasn't for that I would give the game 4 stars since it was fun to play. ### 5/5 — Great game *2017-07-24, version 1.4* An overall joy to play. Can be tricky and difficult at times but it is a charm and a great experience. Recommended ### 4/5 — Great family game. *2017-06-07, version 1.4* This game is fun for all ages. The story is clearly pitched at kids, with Red the squirrel trying to recover his stolen nut stores, but the gameplay will rack the brains of any adult as well. Avoiding hazards and battling enemies are far less important than solving the puzzles to traverse the landscape. The music and graphics are lovely, the game mechanics are clever, and the all-rodent cast of characters is adorable (with no shortage of nut jokes). It can be a bit confusing to navigate, though - some features of the terrain are hard to see, dead ends are not always clear, and with so many branching routes in each area I found myself frequently getting lost. The map keeps a tally of nuts collected in each area, but treasure chests should be tallied too. But, it's a good game, buy it.. ### 4/5 — Great game but seems....unfinished(??) *2017-02-03, version 1.2* The game has wonderful graphics and music. Good storyline. You actually have to think a little bit in some of the puzzles. A few things from making this 5 stars: 1. There doesn't seem to be any reason to collect the nuts on the map, other than just to say you got them all. I was looking forward to using the nuts to upgrade health, attack, defense or for buying things in a shop somewhere. They didn't seem to serve any of those purposes. 2. You seem to collect extra hearts in your book if you get a heart and your heart meter is full. However, you don't seem to be able to use them. I'm ok with that, as the book just describes what the items do but as you collect more hearts, it increases the number of extra hearts you've collected. (i.e. x15) that makes it seem like you can use them..same with the nuts. If you can't use the item , not sure why have the number of them you've collected instead of just having the picture along with the description. Did you intend to use them for something but never got around to it? 3. The ending animations were good but there were no credits or any indication that the game was really over as you go back to the final boss room but not nothing else really happens. Overall great game and worth the $2(maybe even a bit more). I would give this 4 1/2 stars but no option to do so ### 3/5 — Great game! But *2017-02-03, version 1.2* Seriously good, creative and clever game. Sorry to say, but the music is legit painful. And, any game on both AppleTV and iOS should have cloud save! Why should I have to start every time I switch device! ### 5/5 — Quality *2017-02-02, version 1.2* A massive space to explore with a perfect mobile interface. Not too mentally challenging, but definitely ramping up. Slightly disappointed. ### 5/5 — Fun and challenging adventure for nuts! *2017-01-29, version 1.2* I never thought playing a squirrel collecting nuts would be so fun! Controls are smooth and intuitive. Characters are entertaining in a Banjo Kazooie kind of way. Gameplay mechanics are introduced gradually but often enough to keep you interested. After a few areas I was hooked and missed my bus stop in the process.
