BE WARNED:  if you want to be able to use the app to talk to your camera, you have to create an account with them. 

There is absolutely no justifiable reason I should need an account just to use the app to talk to my camera.  

Their AI gives total BS answers as to why this is necessary (so they can give you support, so if you delete the app or lose your phone, and…I forget the third).

The only one that is remotely justifiable is support.  But just ask for it if you ever need support.  🙄

If I’d have realized this requirement before I paid someone to install the camera, I’d have promptly returned it.  

I typically check app reviews before buying products and pass if the apps are bad, but neglected to check this one.  That’s on me.  

This app is automatically terrible if you can’t connect to your local, not in the cloud camera without an account.  

I’m not giving you any info and I guess that means I can’t fully use the camera.

Very disappointing app and it doesn’t work or show anything the moment you step out the car. So don’t assume you have gos, pics videos accessible. One can’t see anything on the app and device freezes up often. Very disappointing product and app.

The REDTIGER dash cam itself is great, and the new app looks much better than the older one. I originally avoided the new app because it had terrible reviews when it first launched, and I was already comfortable using the old version. After seeing that the new app had recently been updated, I decided to try it, hoping it would make downloading footage faster and more convenient. Unfortunately, the overall process still feels almost exactly the same.

My biggest issue with the entire REDTIGER experience is how inconvenient it is to retrieve footage. I have to go out to my car, turn it on so the dash cam has power, enable the dash cam’s Wi-Fi, connect my phone to it, open the app, locate the clips I want, and then wait for each one to download. Even after finishing a drive, I can end up sitting in my car for an additional 5–10 minutes just downloading footage. If I need several clips, it takes even longer.

I wish the footage could automatically sync to the app or cloud while the dash cam is powered on so I could access it later from anywhere. Even if the clips automatically deleted after a certain number of days or once the storage became full, that would be much more convenient. If I remembered a clip while sitting in my room, I could simply open the app instead of walking back to my car, turning everything on, connecting to the dash cam’s Wi-Fi, and waiting inside the car for it to download.

I understand that REDTIGER may need different hardware or cloud technology to make something like that possible, but it would make the app and dash cam significantly more user-friendly. The new app is cleaner and more modern than the old one, and I haven’t experienced any major problems with it so far. However, the slow and inconvenient process of accessing footage remains the biggest weakness of an otherwise good dash cam.

Regarding the footage access process, the current dashcam models require a WiFi connection between the phone and the camera to view and download recordings. We understand that having easier access to footage without needing to return to the vehicle would provide a much more convenient experience.

Your suggestion about automatic syncing and remote access is very valuable, and we will share your feedback with our product development team for future product improvements and optimization.

App works perfectly fine. Used for 24hrs solid with no issues or problems with new touch screen camera connected. Both dashcam and app are a great upgrade to my previous well known camera that was laggy and unreliable compared to this. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

For 1.  When I go to get some clips sometimes the clip will glitch. For 2. Why the hell when I download some clips they complete but others get to 99% and don’t complete, and I already repeat the process, update this app now this camera is too good to have a terrible app

I got my dash cam about a month ago. I’ve had a different one in the past that I ended up returning because the set up and app connection was so confusing. But, this was super easy to set up in the car and connect to the app. The one thing I thought it was going to have (and maybe I misread the label when I bought as I was looking at many) was that there was volume alongside the video. But, I don’t think there is although I could just be technologically illiterate. The video footage quality is great and deletes after 24 hours and starts again as it should. It’s easy to save and screenshot videos. 10/10 would recommend!
