An ad every now and then is expected, but not every other time you die in a game like this. There are so many difficult level modules that make it feel truly random (Which it is). When an endless game can hold my attention for more than 10 minutes, it has achieved well, but Redungeon has held my attention for hours on end at a time. I love the detailed pixel art and animations, as well as the levelling and character unlocking, that truly bring this game to life. Another bug is the consistent disappearance of the game's soundtrack over time, leaving only the sound effects. Another downside is the torrent of adverts. You will be forced to watch one after every two runs and their content is dubious with some ads promoting a gambling / nft application. The gameplay itself is alright if you can look past these bugs but it used to be better when the game was actively being updated. ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Don’t listen to the 5 stars *2025-12-10, version 4.6* Got killed THEN forced to either pay up or watch an ad to continue so I did(watch), then got to continue and die a second later and you guessed it another ad, so uninstalling atm. THEN WHY THERE’S MANDATORY ADVERTISEMENT IF IM NOT CHOOSING THAT OPTION. I JUST WANT TO START AGAIN WITHOUT WATCHING ANY STUPID VIDEO. ### 1/5 — Deleted all my progress *2025-01-31, version 4.6* I was enjoying this game a lot, and I had played it so much I had almost unlocked every character. Then my phone died while I was playing and when I got it charged again, all my progress in the game was gone. I didn’t delete the app, all it took was my phone dying to wipe out the progress I had made playing the game for probably 20 hours. Change your games in-app purchases because that is just wrong ### 1/5 — Should say “Redungeon LITE” *2022-10-12, version 4.6* Potentially an amazing game. Simplistic controls, beautiful retro feel. But before I could decide if I liked it or not I was bombarded with Ads after each death. You die? Gotta watch an Ad to continue. Die more than once? No more ad but YOU MUST PAY TO CONTINUE. You can bypass all of this via the full version at $4 which is cheap but they should have led with that. Or just put the game up for $4 instead of predatorily leading us into it. ### 1/5 — Don’t bother downloading *2022-07-30, version 4.6* I downloaded this game and played for about 10 minutes. The ads are ABUSIVE. I spent more time stuck in ad videos than I did able to actually play. Graphics are good but the experience was horrible.
