Not sure why but may be database maintenance or something. Basically it is not working when it would be most useful. Also you cannot schedule payments for credit card. I end up having to use bill pay to transfer funds to pay Redwoods own credit card because you cant schedule a date to pay. Its funky, finicky, non intuitive, works differently than every other banking app Ive ever used. I have the impression that a lot of things were done a certain way to “solve problems “ instead of making it user friendly and solving the issues in the backend. ### 2/5 — Unusable due to several minutes loading *2023-09-12* Why in the world did they change the app? The other one worked fine. So far. I keep giving up on the download when it hits three or four minutes. It honestly should not take that long for it to download. I have downloaded after deleting the app multiple times and there is no improvement. Are we the beta test on this because it failed. ### 3/5 — Love the Business but not the app so much *2023-05-31* My experience with the app has been mixed over the years. I adjusted my expectations and things have been ok lately, until the Touch ID was disabled unexpectedly and I was essentially locked out of the app while I was traveling and couldn’t use until I returned home. It looks like there’s a new app available now but after I downloaded it it and attempted to use, I got a message that it’s not available to all customers yet. I love RCU for the most part but stuff like this app business is frustrating. **Developer response:** Hello, Sorry to hear you were affected by the TouchID issue we had. That incident should have been isolated to the morning of Wednesday 5/17 and was resolved by 2pm. Members were still able to login using their username and password, but the ease and convenience of biometric login was affected, apologies. We do have chat available in mobile and online banking that can be used instead of a phone call if you ever run into issues in the future. We are finalizing development on our new digital banking platform. We have started offering Members invitations to convert to the new system, but we are selecting Members based on services they use that we have completed development on. We are attempting to invite all our Members to move to the new system over the next 3-4 months. We are blocking Members from registering for the new platform/app that utilize services that aren't available in the new system yet. Redwood Credit Union ### 4/5 — Garbage (fixed) *2023-01-14, version 3.6.0* This app used to be fine and now they disabled Touch ID and changed it so Face ID. So if you have an iPhone with a center button you have to enter your password every time. Useless! Edit: this issue has been fixed. In order to activate Touch ID you must activate Face ID (even if you don’t have it). Shouldn’t be that way, but it works. **Developer response:** Hello, Thank you for the update. You are correct, this should not be working this way. It should list Touch ID for Touch ID enabled devices and Face ID only for Face ID enabled devices. Overall I’ve been incredibly happy with this app over the years. The best banking app. Developer team is responsive to issues. It refuses to go past the RCU open screen and log in with the face recognition or password page. This seems to be happening more often than not. Unfortunately, I’ve become reliant on mobile banking. **Developer response:** Hello, Thank you for reporting this issue. We didn't make a change but we do see that several Members have reported issues with Touch ID & Face ID and our app. A few of those Members have posted that the issue is now resolved for them. Redwood Credit Union ### 1/5 — Possibly the worst banking app I have had the displeasure of using *2022-10-01, version 3.6.0* It makes me reset my password each time I try to log in, that would be fine if I forgot my password, but if I log out then log in right after it doesn’t register the password I just set for my account. And now I can’t even reset my password to log in since it crashes on the reset screen. I haven’t been able to log in for over a month now due to this issue. **Developer response:** Hello, We're sorry to hear about this experience. We do lock the account if the incorrect password is entered 3 times. You are able to self-unlock your account, but you would still need the correct saved password to access the account. We've gone through the reset password functionality and it appears to be working without issue, so we'd appreciate hearing more about where this process is failing for you as well. It never wants to load when you open up the app, and it also never keeps your personal preferences… do yourself a favor and just go online to the website. ### 1/5 — Not working well at all *2022-09-01, version 3.6.0* I’ve had the app for a whole and it worked great.
