## What is Reelang?

Finally understand Japanese the way people really speak it. Real short videos by native speakers, matched to your level and listening speed.

Textbook Japanese is slow and polite. Then someone speaks at normal speed, the words blur together, the textbook forms disappear, and you follow almost none of it. Reelang turns the clips native speakers actually post into listening practice you can scroll. 6,000+ videos, from clearer, more accessible speech to the speed people actually speak at, beginners to C1.

New to Japanese? Start anyway
You do not need any Japanese to begin. The easiest Japanese comes first: common, basic vocabulary and short clips with clearer, more accessible speech. The feed gets faster as your listening improves. Real Japanese is something you follow on day one, not something you work up to.

How it works
• Real Japanese videos, made for Japanese speakers, not for textbooks.
• A feed graded two ways: by your level, and by how fast people actually speak.
• Every clip is labelled with where it comes from, so you always know which Japanese you are hearing.
• Hear standard Japanese and Kansai-ben, the Japanese of Osaka, and choose which one your feed plays.
• Smart Subtitles show you which words to learn first: whether a word is among the 500, 1,000 or 2,000 most common words in Japanese.
• Tap any word in the subtitles to see what it means, right there in the sentence. Words written in kanji also show how they're read in kana.
• Learner insights: each clip comes with a short note on the Japanese worth knowing in it.

Focus mode, the guided way in
Do not just watch a clip, work it. Focus plays it once with no text, asks how much you caught, then takes it sentence by sentence and word by word until it lands. Tap a word to keep it for review. Prefer to just watch? Flow does that instead.

Some videos have the subtitles burned into the picture. A normal player cannot take those off the screen. Reelang can. Hide them and you are only listening, not reading.

Preparing for the JLPT or the JFT-Basic?
Reelang is not an exam course and has no practice papers. What it gives you is the listening practice you need: hours of everyday Japanese at your level and at natural speed, which is exactly what the listening sections test.

Working in Japan?
Shifts, meetings, a quick word with your manager: Japanese at work moves fast and often sounds different from the textbook. The feed is that everyday Japanese, so you can get used to hearing it before your first day.

Going to Japan?
A phrasebook tells you what to say, not what the answer means. The feed is everyday Japanese at real speed, so start a few weeks before you fly.

Started with anime? Keep going with real people
The feed has some anime, but mostly Japanese creators talking about their day, their food and their jokes, so you hear how Japanese sounds in everyday life.

You're not memorizing lists. You're hearing Japanese the way it's really spoken, fast, casual, alive, and understanding a bit more each day. That's when it stops feeling like homework.

Free to start. Scroll, tap, learn.
