## What is Referat?

Referat records your meetings and lectures, transcribes them, works out who said what, and writes a summary with action items. Free. No ads. No subscription, no account and no minute limits – and your audio never leaves your iPhone.

RECORD WITH ONE TAP
• One big red button. Recording continues when you lock your phone
• See the time on the Lock Screen and in the Dynamic Island
• Pause, and mark important moments as you go
• Import audio from Files, Voice Memos or the Share menu – video too

TRANSCRIPTS IN SEVEN LANGUAGES
• English, Danish, German, French, Spanish, Japanese and Korean – Referat detects the language itself
• Speech becomes text right on your phone with Whisper
• Referat finds the different speakers – name them with a tap
• Tap a word to hear that moment again, and play at 0.5–2× speed
• Search one recording or all of them

SUMMARY AND ACTION ITEMS
• A short summary, the decisions and a checklist of action items with owners – in the meeting's language
• Written by Apple Intelligence on your iPhone (iPhone 15 Pro and later with iOS 26)
• Copy the summary into an email or Slack with one tap

SHARE IT YOUR WAY
• Text, Markdown, PDF, subtitles (SRT/VTT) or the audio file

YOUR MEETINGS ARE YOURS
Everything – audio, transcript and summary – stays on your iPhone. There is no server, no account and no tracking. The speech model is downloaded once, and after that Referat works entirely offline.

FREE. JUST ENJOY IT.
The whole app is free, with every feature, no ads and no subscription. If you're doing alright, you can become a supporter inside the app and get the show-off icons: extra app icons and a silly little game. Nothing gets locked, and freeloaders are still very welcome.

Remember to tell everyone in the meeting that you are recording.

## App Review notes

No account or sign-in. Referat is free, and every feature is available without unlocking anything. The one optional in-app purchase, Supporter (non-consumable), only adds extra app icons and a small game. Referat is a meeting recorder: it uses the audio background mode so a recording continues while the screen is locked (the app shows a Live Activity with the timer while recording).

Transcription runs on the device with Whisper. On first use the app downloads the speech model once (626 MB, from huggingface.co, no user data is sent); after that no network is used. Summaries use Apple Intelligence (Foundation Models) and appear only on devices that support it; other devices get the transcript.

To test: tap "Hent talemodellen / Download the speech model" and wait for it to finish, tap the red button, speak for 20 seconds, stop. The transcript and summary appear after processing. You can also import an audio file with the download icon in the top bar.

### 1.0.3 — 2026-09-30

The app icon and name now sit at the top, and the button for importing an audio file has moved down next to search. The Summary, Transcript and Actions buttons and the player time now fit on one line, also on smaller iPhones and with large text.

### 1.0.1 — 2026-09-26

New App Store name and minor improvements.

### 1.0 — 2026-09-25

No release notes.
