For the last year or so, however, the devs appear to have become lazy and just bundle together the same old stuff, change some graphics and send it for sale. It must be how they can churn out so many of these walking simulators. The only example I will give, because I am already as bored of this review as I was the game, is their formula. Enter a room, interact with an item. Oh no, it’s got pieces missing and I can’t use this until I find them. The thing is, I am looking for missing pieces for every quest item I have come across so far, it’s like the people that live here are seriously careless with their belongings; there is no way I would have so many broken and useless items on display in my house, yet this place, with 3 trillion servants and whatever, just ignore the chaos around them, but I, a complete stranger probably here to kill the master of the house, will fix it all for you. Just be aware of the above; if looking for missing pieces of items you need to use, time after time, is your things. Otherwise avoid the monotony and try something else. If you really must play it, at least get it on sale! ### 3/5 — Descent game play. Too much help *2020-07-02* I always is custom setting to try and make it difficult but as I play infrequently I keep active areas active in the map. This game was fun to play, unique and interesting but the help text was way to plentiful and made it boring as you didn’t have to work at the game. Also super short play time to test it out. I loved collecting the cute little “familiars”, they made me smile. Hos are list, silhouette, and interactive. Not as many puzzles as I’m used to from them, but they were original. Liked the shuriken one, it took some thought, but most of the other ones were easy. Half a star off for not enough puzzles, and another half because I felt it was too short. ### 2/5 — Stuck and back and forth many time. *2019-12-08, version 1.0.1* When I pressed hint and they keep back and forth and They are stuck and can’t forward to continue game. I liked that the hint timer told me how long I had to wait. But I disliked that touching the wrong areas moved me to a different room when that wasn’t what I wanted to do. Long gameplay, plus bonus, and even a secret chapter, which was a bit pointless. Some scenes were a bit dark, making finding objects difficult, but puzzles were interesting and not too difficult. Storyline better than many games lately, and I got about four hours play for the price of a large cup of coffee, so worth the deal price! ### 4/5 — 👍 *2018-10-23, version 1.0.1* Good game I enjoyed it. ### 4/5 — Challenging game *2018-10-04, version 1.0.1* This was quite a difficult game especially a lot of the puzzles and not for a beginner, the hos were very varied which was good, the map was easy to follow and showed exactly where to go next, unfortunately the inventory items were not listed so you had to have a good memory and some items had strange names, which meant you needed the hint button a few times. The familiars were able to be obtained at the end of the game if you missed any and opened a bonus game. The game was a good length but not really my type of game and quite dark. I deducted a star for not naming the items. ### 2/5 — Weirldly directed *2018-10-04* Choppy and abrupt. It jumps right into a situation, and you have no idea why. That is not enjoyable. Pointless stuff like a crow takes away a key, so an alley cat has to climb a hook/ribbon to frighten the bird to drop the key. Really? Sketchy and amateurish flow. Meh. ### 3/5 — Another Short Game *2018-10-03* Short game and Big Fish is still not listening to their supporters! (1 game a week is not enough!)- totally disgusted with their lack of interest in keeping their customers happy. Really resent the fact that they are trying to milk it and sell older games on sale that majority if not all have already bought and played. Not thrilled with supporting a company that has No regard for the numerous requests made of giving us more than 1 game a week. I thought 2 was skimpy - this is flat ridiculous. They have taken away the enjoyment of buying and playing their games. It used to be good entertainment and always looked forward to at the very least 2 NEW Games a week - but not now. KdBoots (3 Stars at best) Nothing earth shattering. Note: New Release today Cadenza: Eternal dance will not even install? It is Wednesday October 3Rd. Any one else with this issue? Usually this developer produces outstanding games, but this one felt like it was rushed to production. It had no cohesive story line, the map was a joke, games were redundant and the HOGs unoriginal. It also was the shortest game I have ever played, inclusive of the bonus material. I haven’t played very far in this game, but there is a significant problem with the map. Although the legend indicates marks for current location, objectives and completed scenes, the only indications showing are for the current location. One of my favorite aspects is.. you can move your finger around until you find an active area (hand, magnifying glass, etc). That’s extremely helpful to those of us that aren’t experts. There’s also a ‘pull over screen’ that tells you how many critters are in the area you’re in so there’s no guessing. Not many games have this kind of help in them. The artwork is beautiful. I’m personally tired of the drab, dark scenes in many of these games today so this was refreshing. Looking forward to many more games by these developers!!
