### 3/5 — “Read in app” option doesn’t work

*2026-08-31*

The search inside app isn’t great. So i search on Google and then access the website. from the website, i expect to go to the app by clicking the “read in app” option. However the link redirects to App Store and not the app.

Response to developer response:
1. Search inside the app has issues. you don’t always know the exact words of the poem you want to search. So you search through estimation. And Google gives you the result. The app doesn’t. Ex. I searched “hazaaron daleelin aisi” on app, and it gave absurd results but the google search gave me the rekhta link to “hazaaron khwaishein aisi” as the top result.
2. The “read in app” option shouldn’t take me to app store if the app is already installed. It should take me to the poem in the app where I can save/like/bookmark it. For ex. If someone sends you an Instagram link and it opens on the web browser, clicking on the “open in app” option leads to that reel/post on Instagram, it doesn’t take me to Instagram if it is already installed. And that is how it should be. Why take me to App Store if I already have the app?

**Developer response:** Dear Aman, thank you for your feedback. Could you please share more details about the issues you’re facing with the in-app search so we can understand and improve it? Regarding the “Read in App” option, it is designed to redirect users to the App Store, where they can access the Rekhta app. We appreciate your understanding and feedback. Team Rekhta

### 3/5 — “Read in app” option doesn’t work

*2026-08-20, version 5.0.6*

### 4/5 — Look into bugs

*2026-07-18, version 5.0.6*

Appreciate this app so much for poetry lovers man but only if it was convenient to use it would’ve be great. So many glitches snd bugs and funny how i cant even t
Open the app anymore after the update.
And a few poets like Harivansh rai bacchan and such are missing.

### 3/5 — Great concept but manyy bugs

*2026-05-29*

I have been using the app for a while, and I have been following great and really appreciate these initiatives to spread the love of poetry, but only problem is it lagging a lot after one or two uses and it’s not loading quickly, and it’s not showing any of my saved poetry and you know, I have to go back again and again, so that’s a little bit of Bhagya and I hope Rekhta can fix as soon as possible and face issues with other Rekhta website, as well.

**Developer response:** Dear Jinglereviews, thank you for your feedback and for supporting Rekhta’s initiatives. We’re sorry to hear about the lag and saved poetry issues. To help us investigate the lag, please share a short screen recording of the problem at app@rekhta.org. For the saved poetry issue, kindly write to us from the registered email ID you use to log in to the app, and our team will be happy to assist you. Team Rekhta

### 2/5 — bring back the classic

*2025-12-25*

I have been a loyal reader on Rekhta for a long time, but the new update with the scroll-type layout is very disappointing. The old style was simple, elegant, and much easier to navigate. This new "feed" style feels cluttered and makes it harder to find the specific poets and ghazals I love.
My Request to the Developers:
1. Please bring back the Old Classic Style as the default.
2. If you want to keep the new scroll layout, please give us a "Classic Mode" toggle in the settings so we can choose the layout we prefer.
The old tab system was perfect for a serious reader. If the UI stays this chaotic, I’m afraid you will lose many long-time readers like me. Please listen to your community!

**Developer response:** Dear Abhay, thank you for sharing your feedback. We appreciate your patience and would like to clarify that we are currently working on improvements to the Home Page experience. In an upcoming update, the Home Page will be personalised based on your activity. The poets, ghazals, and sher you follow, like, or read will help us show you similar and relevant content on your Home Page. This will make it easier for you to discover poetry that truly matches your interests. Thank you for being a valued Rekhta reader. Team Rekhta

### 3/5 — Latest update

*2025-11-18, version 5.0.4*

The latest update is annoying as all the saved collections are now not categorised. Previously ghazal, nazm, sher et cetra were saved under their particular headings not everything just under one. It’s difficult to find what I want. Undo this menace.

### 3/5 — The new update that makes it feel like instagram

*2025-10-17, version 5.0.3*

Please bring back the old user interface. Now it seems like instagram. Your previous UI was awesome- new everyday. Please bring back the old UI!

### 2/5 — Ipad incompatible app

*2025-10-02, version 5.0.2*

The app is incompatible on the ipad interface. The UI is mobile design, the text is too small to read even when it’s enlarged and in landscape mode.

### 3/5 — Better to worse.

*2025-09-17*

Something has been changed better to worse , I was using app in Urdu now I can’t figure it out how to get back in Urdu / so many things are disappeared, now using web page instead of app.

**Developer response:** Dear Ashar, Thank you for sharing your feedback. We understand your concern regarding the recent update, where the app interface has changed and the Urdu language option seems difficult to access. Your feedback has been shared with our IT team, and they are actively working on restoring and improving the language preference and other features to enhance your experience. We truly appreciate your patience and support. We hope that you’ll enjoy the upcoming updates even more, and your feedback helps us make the app better for users like you. Team Rekhta

### 2/5 — Language selection is not there

*2025-09-12*

You guys took away the joy of reading the 5 selected sher of the day. Also on the home page there is no language selection available. It’s English by default.

Language is embedded into individual pages which is a pain to go and click each time. Does not save user preference. Earlier the whole account would show into the language selected. I miss the old version.
Moreover under each poet I liked the tabs for ghazal/nazm and sher. Now it’s tough to find them.

**Developer response:** Dear User, thank you for reaching out. We’re glad you like the new sleek look of the app. To switch back to Hindi, kindly use the language option available at the top right corner of the Reading page. As for the iPhone version, could you please share the specific bugs you are facing? Our team is already working on improvements, and your feedback will help us fix them faster. Should you continue to face any difficulty, please write to us at app@rekhta.org. and we will be happy to assist you further. Team Rekhta

### 5/5 — Language selection is not there

*2025-09-06*

I like the new sleek look but my app used to be set to Hindi language however now that is replaced with English and i cannot find where to change it back to Hindi. For iPhone users there are lots of bugs.

We’re glad you like the new sleek look of the app. To switch back to Hindi, kindly use the language option available at the top right corner of the Reading page. ### 5/5 — اردو زبان کیسے منتخب کریں نئی ایپ میں

### 1/5 — Revert back to old app

*2026-07-31, version 5.0.6*

I can’t use rekhta app after the recent updates; tried multiple cycle of uninstall/install but of no use.
It is taking forever to load data on app, please revert it back to old design/GUI.

### 1/5 — One of the best Urdu poetry app

*2025-10-05, version 5.0.3*

Main is app ko almost 5-6 years sy use kr rha hn or ye urdu poetry ka sbsy best app ha or main sub logo ko recommend krnga, but new update jo aii ha wo bhot zyada buri ha or network problems bhi ha ismy or old design bhot acha tha

### 1/5 — Is there an option to roll back to the previous version?

*2025-09-21*

Although change is inevitable, bringing change just for the sake of it is foolish. The intuitiveness, ease of use, and no-nonsense interface of the old version were excellent, but I suppose you had to replace it with whatever this current, stinking piece of garbage is. I don’t want to go into details, but this one gets me every time- I loved that small toggle in some shers that let you jump to the ghazal it belonged to. Now it’s gone. Why?

**Developer response:** Dear Yasir, Thank you for your detailed feedback. We completely understand your concern regarding the recent changes, especially the removal of the toggle feature that allowed quick access to related ghazals. Your feedback has been shared with our IT team, and they are actively reviewing ways to restore and improve such features in future updates. We truly appreciate your patience and support as we continue working to make the app more intuitive and user-friendly for our valued users. Team Rekhta

### 1/5 — Illiterate + inexperienced Developer

*2025-09-16, version 5.0.1*

### 1/5 — Congratulations on Ruining a Good App

*2025-09-09*

The new iOS update is a masterclass in how to make an app less user-friendly. Earlier, language settings worked at the app level — now I have to waste time changing it on every single page. Brilliant!

Did the development and testing teams even try using their own app before releasing this? Any basic usability testing would have caught such a frustrating flaw. Please stop experimenting with half-baked ideas and bring back the simple, usable design we had before.

**Developer response:** Dear Amit, Thank you for sharing your detailed feedback. We truly value your observations and understand the frustration caused by the recent changes. With every update, we aim to introduce new features and improvements, and we continuously work to enhance usability. Please note that a new update with further enhancements will be released soon. We kindly request you to update the app when it becomes available, and we are confident it will improve your experience. If you enjoy the updated experience, we would be truly grateful for your 5-star rating, as it motivates us to keep improving and serving you better. Team Rekhta

### 1/5 — Terrible update, missing the old version

*2025-09-09, version 5.0.1*

This is one of the most terrible updates to the app. Cannot even search for simple ghazals which were usually simple in the past versions. Pls reinstate old version.

### 5/5 — Best for exploring Urdu Poetry world

*2026-08-04, version 5.0.6*

The availability of poetry in Hindi, tapping on words to know meaning, collection of all urdu legends, Urdu dictionary on the side, ability to save poetry and follow shayars, arrangement of all the things….. This app is perfect….. Thank you for doing this

### 5/5 — One of the best app for urdu lover…

One of the best app for urdu lover…

### 5/5 — SUFINAMA

*2026-05-17, version 5.0.5*

Excellent app but NEED SUFINAMA APP!!!

### 5/5 — CFO (Owner-Employee)

*2026-02-25*

I can’t write in Urdu but can write Hindi fluently. My father was well-versed in Urdu and did much of his correspondence in Urdu. It’s from him that I picked up many words of Urdu and, I’m glad, they still are ‘alive’.

**Developer response:** Dear Mr. Benny Golchha, Thank you so much for your heartfelt words. It truly means a lot to us that the platform serves as a window into a cherished past and helps keep the beauty of Urdu alive. Your reflection on your father’s connection with the language is especially touching—we’re honoured to play a small role in preserving such memories. We sincerely appreciate your support. If you find value in our work, we would be grateful if you could also share it with your friends and loved ones. Team Rekhta

### 5/5 — not made for tablets

*2026-02-11, version 5.0.4*

I am a regular user on the small screen but with a bit of altered vision wanted to try it on an iPad but unfortunately it is not designed for bigger screens.
Request Team Rekhta to consider this request.
Beyond this, Rekhta is a BIG part of life.

### 5/5 — Merge Rekhta Dictionary Fully into Rekhta App

*2025-12-19*

Great app with amazing Urdu poetry. One suggestion: please merge all features of the Rekhta Dictionary into the main Rekhta app. The current dictionary inside Rekhta is limited, and switching between two apps is inconvenient. A single app with full dictionary support would be much better for users.

**Developer response:** Dear Aadil, Thank you for your thoughtful feedback and kind words. The Rekhta app and the Rekhta Dictionary app are designed for different purposes. The Rekhta app offers basic dictionary support for quick reference, while the Rekhta Dictionary is a dedicated, much more extensive resource. Keeping them separate allows us to maintain depth and performance in the dictionary. We truly appreciate your suggestion and understanding. Team Rekhta

### 5/5 — Update issue

*2025-09-18, version 5.0.1*

Since last update we need to change script every time. Kindly give it in settings

### 5/5 — New update

*2025-09-15, version 5.0.1*

New update doesnot allow to change the whole application language to urdu. Its only allows to change the poetry language but not the whole application like before please do something

### 5/5 — Love it!!

*2025-09-11*

I don’t usually do reviews for apps but I am so grateful for the existence of this one. Not only has it an enormous collection of urdu literature, but also it’s available in 3 languages, the meanings of all words are readily available, and the UI of the app is also very user friendly especially after the new update. Love the app!!

**Developer response:** Dear Patel, We are truly honored by your kind feedback. It brings us immense joy to know that you appreciate the extensive collection of Urdu literature, the convenience of 3 languages, the ready availability of word meanings, and the user-friendly interface of our app, especially after the latest update. Your appreciation inspires us to continue improving and providing the best experience for our valued users. Thank you for your support and love. Team Rekhta

### 5/5 — New update is bad

*2025-09-09, version 5.0.1*

I love Rekhta. But why is your new update so terrible.
