Background sounds, etc. I would like to also restore purchases. Have emailed the developer and had no response. ### 2/5 — Beware! You can't cancel *2024-12-04* I have the annual subscription. And while I like some of the meditations I wanted to cancel my subscription. They still are drawing the annual fee from my account, no one ever replies to my request. ### 2/5 — Needs work *2024-05-06, version 1.0.7* On the old app, I was able to pair music and background sounds with a track. Is that going to become possible at any point on this new version?! There’s a whole section for “background music” which is fundamentally useless… I will be emailing to enquire about access to the old tracks but this is a real disappointment. It should not be that hard to develop an audio app which will do similar things to the old one. It’s impossible to find anything and return to it in this new app. I paid to unlock access and it doesn’t even remember what I’ve listened to each time I open it. I am a huge AJ fan but what on earth is going on here?! ### 1/5 — Not restoring purchases *2023-03-29, version 1.0.7* I’ve been a loyal Andrew Johnson subscriber for years, having bought all of his programs via Relax+ and frequently recommending it to friends. However, that app has now been taken now and no longer works following a phone restore and when trying to restore purchases via the new app nothing is restoring. ### 1/5 — I would have paid double for Relax+ *2022-11-24* The previous app had full customization and was an absolute staple in my life. I don’t know how long it has been gone but I reinstalled a bunch of my apps to try and help with memory and that one wouldn’t come back. Came looking for the new version, happy to see what they added, and to my horror this app doesn’t offer any of what I had on Relax+ I could change the volume of the music relative to the talking. I could sent the overall length, the intro had several options, the outro could be wake or sleep. Andrew Johnson has the best voice and approach in the game. Many thanks ### 3/5 — Big fan of the author but this needs some work *2022-11-02* For a monthly subscription , or costly lifetime membership, you get many “30 day” meditations, like calm, stress relief, sleep-related, confidence etc, plus some groups of 10 meditations or whatever. At this price point, they desperately need to add in the ability to end the mediation with a sleep or wake, as in his stand alone apps. Many of them are wake or worse yet, don’t tell you whether they’re sleep or wake. Also, I would much prefer more single meditations. He has excellent scripts, focusing on making you feel the right way so your subconscious believes it and helps you to achieve the goal of the meditation. But for the price point, we need a sleep/wake option, maybe a little bit better organized list, maybe the ability to choose some light music in the bg, things of that nature. There is potential here, hope they make the improvements, I’ll re subscribe when they do. ### 3/5 — Relax + no longer available in the App Store *2022-09-09* Buyer beware, I purchased the app previous to this called Relax +. However it is no longer available in the App Store, which means your lifetime purchase may result in the same thing as that was also a “lifetime” purchase.. although the price was less b/c it was before developers realized they could bank so hard on people who just need/want some help to have a richer life. I will say that I did enjoy that app very much as it gave a lot of customization for every component of the meditations (hence the 3 stars) but now I have to buy a whole new app?? Or shell out a monthly subscription?? Or buy single topic apps?? I’m not down with the greedy cash grabs and replacing products that force customers to buy again. One is because I find the meditation system difficult to navigate and the other is that I find meditations difficult to practise without background music. I wish there was a function where you could opt in the background music or switch it off. For this reason I haven’t explored many meditations I’d otherwise really like to try. ### 4/5 — Good content needs some improvement *2022-02-18* I hope they read the reviews, I purchased the lifetime membership (a considerable investment) and I am disappointed to find most sessions ends up with a “wake up” why not have alternatives of sleep or wake and also a choice of music or no music? A year later and there is still no way to track, favorite, etc. it is very clunky and I regret paying for a lifetime subscription. ### 1/5 — Yet to be able to use purchased content *2021-05-31, version 1.0.4* Gutted. Been a huge follower of Andrew for many years and had no issues with the Relax + app This new platform is dreadful I purchased a month subscription and it simply will not transfer the purchases to the library - just one free item - not even the other free items and no sign of my full access .. been around the houses with emailing and now waiting for yet another person to respond. Not sure if it’s an iPhone compatibility prob or this new platform provider But my anxiety is now ironically through the roof after 5 days of trying to access the purchased content!!! 😕 ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Awful! *2026-02-04, version 1.1.0* Have used Andrew’s hypnosis apps for years but now doubting myself dreadfully. I kept getting emails telling me about new tracks but could never find them. I contacted Andrew and was told to sign out of the app and sign back in. I tried this but could not sign in, so I requested a forgotten password link. As soon as I clicked on the link, outlook told me not to proceed and that my details would be stolen!!!! Definitely not relaxing ….. very stressful indeed! ### 1/5 — Received email with PayPal link *2025-07-18* Love this guy but it seemed shady and since it doesn’t take me anywhere legitimate prior to PayPal seems fake. Either a scam are looks like a scam bc you can’t even preview what you would get just link to PayPal assuming I’ll open my wallet to any request off the street. Very odd especially in light of all the scams these days. I purchased ALL his stuff and then lost access so as much as like him… I fell ehhh about spending more with this guy, bc I pretty much bought everything he had even for kids. Then the files I purchased disappeared from my computer right around his app came out. Being a tech and knowing HE HAD TECH REMOVE files I PURCHASED from MY COMPUTER. Many thanks ### 1/5 — New App vs Old App *2023-09-13, version 1.0.7* I’m so disappointed that the previous app has not been somehow adapted when I purchased a lifetime subscription to the old app. I now have to purchase again? No warning or explanation for the change. ### 1/5 — What happened to Relax+ ? *2023-09-13* Relax+ was one of the only apps on my phone that I paid for, and I would pay for it again and again. This new app does so much less than the old app did for so, so, so much more money. Why would anyone pay over 200$ to have less control over their experience than we had before? I really hope someone decides to return to the old model that worked so well and helped so many people. Many thanks ### 1/5 — Nothing like the original app *2023-07-12, version 1.0.7* I was a subscriber for years to the original app which genuinely worked, was so intuitive and a dream to use. I recommended it to so many people and came back to use it recently to find it’s been replaced with this absolute shambles of an app. You cannot find what you need, it has none of the settings that made the previous version easy to use and actually caused me so much stress trying to navigate. Absolute waste of time and no idea why you would switch something off that worked perfectly fine and was far better than this. I have reinstalled it twice and the screen still goes white wherever I go to open play a track. Waste of 10 bucks! Even when I meditate at home with no app, I can still hear Andrew’s voice in my head saying, “Nowww”. I’m so happy to have this app at such a great value as I currently feel the need to vibrate a higher consciousness. ### 5/5 — It’s Andrew *2025-08-24, version 1.0.8* The gift is Andrews voice. I used to listen to him when i was 13 and now starting again at 28 and there’s something soothing about his tone and spirit when it comes to meditations. I don’t like over complicated ways to be spoken to because most of my problems are rooted in simple misalignment that grow to be complicated, validating that to the root core helps me ease that whole branch. The framework of the mediations are great but some of the mediations like “stop worrying” has a very scary off putting music to the point i don’t want to use it because it scares me. other than that the app could use improvements to the playlist section being able to re-arange order of tracks but other than that it’s good. thank you Andrew, truly, your voice inspired me when i was a kid seeking something greater than myself and now it’s helping me heal and come back to my roots. I truly hope somehow my intentions of this message resonate over to you somehow over this digital world in real life. I’ve been a customer and fan of Andrew Johnson for a looooong time. I had tracks before Relax+ was even an app. Then I had the Relax+ app for years. Helped me through some serious times. Then I found out it is no longer available. All I had to do was email the company showing I had owned the tracks and they gave them to me on their new app at no charge. DONE! No loss, no complaints. They’re still taking care of us loyal listeners if you just ask. The only down side is the loss of customization. I would combine several meditations to listen as I slept, so I hope in the future (you developers listening?) they do that. It’s what set them apart from the other apps. But other than that I am happy and feel seen. ### 5/5 — Great app! *2021-11-03* I’ve been using Andrew Johnson’s apps for years to help me sleep. This is the best app yet! Not sure what it is, think it might be the Scottish accent but I think it super easy to shut off and relax with all of the programs. In fact some of them I’ve yet to to to the end of as I’m sleeping before they finish. ### 5/5 — Andrew Johnson’s Marvelous Life Skills Toolkit *2021-05-03, version 1.0.4* This app contains all of the work of my favorite Meditation and Life Skills teacher, Andrew Johnson. I have been using his individual apps and recordings for many years now, and he has helped me learn to relax, to overcome negative, anxious thinking as it arises, and to appreciate myself as I continue along my path in life. There is a recording for every situation that could come up in life here. His long form courses are also included, which teach how to use our breath and our imaginations to let go and allow creativity and our to emerge in our daily challenges. His voice is full of compassion and enthusiasm for life, and his content is powerful, with insight and a light humor, which is the mark of every great teacher. I always wonder if I might tire of hearing his recordings, but I never do. He encourages us to learn these meditation templates so we can do the on our own, and actually I now can bring them to mind on my own. But when a new challenge arises, I know there will be something within the body of his work on this app that will give me new perspectives and help me return to my center. Full length courses, relaxation and sleep meditations, sleep stories, two and five minute breathing routines, and deeply creative manifestation methods, are all here at quite a good value. Easy listening with Andrew’s calming voice. Andrew teaches simple but life changing techniques to help cope with day to day life and with major challenges.
