## What is RELAY?

RELAY is one encrypted line for everything: crystal-clear voice and video calls, instant messaging, live broadcasting, and a real email inbox — all behind one six-digit number that takes seconds to get.

NO PHONE NUMBER. NO SIGNUP FRICTION.
Open the app, pick a name, and you're in. Your six-digit number is your identity — share it, print it on a card, or keep it private. No SIM required, no contacts upload, no tracking.

CALLS THAT JUST WORK
- Free voice and video calls to any RELAY number, worldwide
- Group calls with your circles
- Full call history — voice, video, and group, one tap to call back
- Rings on your lock screen like a real phone call

CHAT THAT KEEPS UP
- Instant delivery with sent, delivered, and read receipts
- Photos, files, and multi-attachment albums (download all as one zip)
- Auto-reply when you're away
- Encrypted in transit, end to end

A REAL MAILBOX, BUILT IN
Your RELAY number is also an email address: 123456@u.co. Anyone on the internet can mail you — it lands right inside the app, next to your chats. Send, receive, attach. No separate mail app.

GO LIVE IN ONE TAP
Broadcast live video to everyone on RELAY or to your contacts only. Viewers chat in real time; you moderate with co-hosts, mute, and kick controls.

YOUR CIRCLES, SORTED
- Contacts organized by circle: VIP, Family, Friends, Team
- My Lists — shared contact pools your whole family or team sees
- Live presence: see who's online right now

PRIVATE BY DESIGN
- No phone number or SIM required
- Media and calls encrypted
- PIN lock and passkey support
- Report and block controls on calls, chats, and live streams
- Your data stays on your account — delete it anytime

RELAY works on Wi-Fi and mobile data, syncs across your devices, and is free to use.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.1.42 — 2026-10-06

During a call on a locked phone, the call screen's Speaker, Mute and Video buttons now work: Speaker stays on until it is turned off, Mute mutes the microphone, and Video opens RELAY and turns the camera on — or sends the video request when the other person has not agreed to video yet.

### 1.1.41 — 2026-10-05

Share your location in a chat, or add a location sticker to a story — RELAY asks for permission the first time.
Clearer permission messages for the camera, microphone and location, now in Arabic too.
Turn on “Save files to my device” and new photos, videos and files in your chats are saved to your phone automatically.
A call that starts without sound now gets its sound back on its own, and offers Redial if it stays silent.
LIVE: invite viewers to join you by voice or video, and show both cameras at once on phones that can; AI looks run smoother.
Move a call in progress to your other phone with “Continue here”.
While you are calling someone and it is still ringing, anyone else who calls you is now told the number is busy instead of ringing you; once your call is answered, call waiting works as before.
When the number you call is busy, the call screen now says "Number busy", in English or in Arabic.
When two people call each other at the same moment, one of the two calls now comes through to be answered, instead of both getting busy.
Privacy details updated: RELAY now describes the data it uses inside the app itself, matching the privacy information shown in the store.

### 1.1.37 — 2026-10-04

When you call someone, the ringing tone is now louder and their profile photo shows while it rings.
In group calls, each person's profile photo now shows in their box while their camera is off, as in one-to-one calls.
In calls with three or more people, the boxes are now stacked from top to bottom by default (in more columns only when there isn't room); with two people they sit side by side, on video calls too.
Anyone can still pick another layout from Layout; on a one-to-one video call, "One big box" brings back the full-screen view. Initials no longer mix English and Arabic letters.

### 1.1.36 — 2026-10-03

Declining a call from the lock screen or the call screen now stops the ringing on the caller's side straight away, even when RELAY was closed.
When RELAY is closed or in the background, it now shows you as away, so calls reach your phone and ring it.
The button in a RELAY code email now opens right inside RELAY.
Dialing now keeps trying for up to 20 seconds while RELAY's servers restart, instead of failing straight away.
On a call with two people, both status lines now sit tidily under the call boxes.

### 1.1.35 — 2026-10-03

Calls look cleaner: each box now shows just the flag, the number and, for verified accounts, the check mark.
The connection line (Connected, the device, the speed and the signal bars) now sits just outside each box, so it never covers a face or a name.
Under the timer, a small list shows who is on the call, with names, check marks and numbers, and moving dots between the two sides that show the connection.
The Reactions button now scrolls along with the other call buttons.
Calls are more reliable after your phone has been idle.
