## What is Relay Voice?

Relay Voice turns your voice memos into useful files.

Prepping for your weekly 1:1, thinking through a decision, or catching an idea before it's gone? Talk it through — on your commute, on a walk, anywhere. Relay Voice transcribes what you said, summarizes it with AI, and saves clean Markdown files straight to your iCloud Drive, ready for Obsidian, Notion, or any AI workflow.

It's the missing step between "I recorded something" and "I can actually use it."

WHY RELAY VOICE
• Your voice becomes structured notes, not forgotten audio
• Walk into your meeting prepared — talk through your 1:1 or standup on the way in, and arrive with clear talking points
• Transcripts and AI summaries, exported as Markdown to your own iCloud Drive
• Fits your knowledge base: Obsidian, Notion — and plain Markdown files that work anywhere, including AI tools like Claude Code, Codex, and Cursor
• Local-first: no account, no server — your recordings stay yours

TRANSCRIPTION YOUR WAY
• Apple's on-device speech recognition on supported devices — free, instant, private
• Downloadable on-device models (Whisper and Qwen) — fully offline
• Cloud AI with your own API key (OpenAI, AssemblyAI, Grok, SiliconFlow) for the highest accuracy

AI SUMMARIES
Turn rambling recordings into clean notes, journal entries, or meeting talking points — using your own AI key. Pick a built-in style or write your own template.

SEND TO YOUR FAVORITE AI
Share any transcript or summary straight to the AI app you already use — ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, and more — to ask follow-up questions, dig deeper, or keep thinking. Your voice, your files, your choice of AI.

BUILT FOR YOUR WORKFLOW
• Export audio, transcript, and summary as Markdown
• Choose your own export folder — send notes straight into your Obsidian vault
• Automate the whole flow: record → transcribe → summarize → export
• iOS Shortcuts support

PRIVATE BY DESIGN
Relay Voice has no backend server and collects no data. Your recordings, transcripts, and summaries live on your device and in your own iCloud Drive. When you use cloud AI, your data goes directly from your device to the provider you chose, using your own API key.

### 5/5 — A good tool for transcription and summary

*2026-08-16*

Relay Voice provides accurate transcription and makes it easy to send voice notes directly to apps like Obsidian, Day One, Drafts, and Apple Notes. The one-time payment is also a reasonably priced alternative to subscriptions.

A reliable and simple companion for capturing voice notes.

### 5/5 — Accurate transcription and also placement

*2026-08-03*

Relay Voice is the work of a responsive and active indie developer and it delivers three things in particular:

1. Accurate and clean transcription which is offline and private;
2. Sharing options to a specific note in Obsidian, Day One, Drafts, Apple Notes etc;
3. A realistic one-time payment rather than subscription.

I find it to be the partner I have looked for, to capture reliable voice notes for apps which do not offer their own Whisper-quality transcription.

**Developer response:** This genuinely means a lot. You've captured exactly what I set out to build: clean, private transcription you own, that lands right in the apps you already use, for one fair price. And "a partner for reliable voice notes into apps that don't do their own transcription well" is the clearest way I've heard it put.

Thanks for taking the time to write this!!

### 5/5 — This is exactly what I want

*2026-07-20*

This app could help to organize my voice transactions and save a lot of time. It carries detailed and helpful instructions.

### 5/5 — The missing link for Obsidia

*2026-07-04*

I’ve spent hours trying to build iOS shortcuts to do exactly this. Relay Voice just drops the Markdown file straight into my Daily Notes folder. Flawless execution.

### 5/5 — Zero friction brain dumps!

*2026-07-03*

Finally, an app that understands that the goal isn’t just to record audio, but to get text into a usable system. The automated folder exporting is brilliant.
