## What is remember Mori?

Every hour, mori will give you a new reminder to appreciate your life.

One day you will die. It is mori's job to remind you of this. remember Mori is a "memento mori" which means a reminder of death. The purpose of a memento mori is to keep some facts at front of mind. 1: You will not live forever. 2: You should, therefore, appreciate your life. 3: Because you will die, that means that one day you will say goodbye to all loved ones. Therefore, you should appreciate them, and treat all people well. 4: There is no sense in putting off what you believe you should be doing.

Every hour, mori will give you a new reminder. The reminder will help you keep the four facts at the front of your mind.

When you meet mori, he will make some personal reminders for you, and help you create your own reminders with personal meaning to you. Plus, mori brings his own reminders, made of things he found... art, videos, photos. You will see.

This app is intended to help people with anxiety, depression, aimlessness, or other troubles that can happen to living beings. However, it is probably not for everyone. If you have a lot of worries about death, or if you are yourself very ill, or your family member is, or if you have just lost someone, please do not feel forced to use this app. You can always return to it later when you are in a different state of mind, or when you feel you need it.

## Key features

- Hourly life appreciation reminders
- Personalized reminder creation
- Curated art, video, and photo content
- Focus on gratitude and purpose

### 5/5 — I love Mori!

*2026-06-17*

Mori is so cute and chill and I love the little reminders every hour. When I first saw this app I thought it was a bit weird because it was the first memento mori app I’d heard of, but later I decided to download it and I gotta say I do not regret it. It’s helped me so much! Now every hour I remember that I don’t have forever and I think “what can I do right now to make my time worthwhile?” It’s helped me seize my time in ways I wasn’t able to before and has had a positive effect on my mental health. I have forever had problems with procrastination and hesitating/overthinking but I’m finally overcoming that thanks to this app! I realize now that there just isn’t enough time on this earth to second guess myself all the time. Not to mention this app doesn’t contain generative AI (THANK YOU) and is completely free! I love it so much, it’s probably in the top five apps I’ve ever put on my phone

### 4/5 — Mori is lovely BUT

*2025-11-06*

November 5 the app doesn’t work anymore it crashes when I tried to open so it auto closes and I’m never able to open it please fix it

**Developer response:** Oh no. Mori warns about death but... not like this. Can you please email me at peter@peterwieben.com? I need to look into this in more detail so I can fix it.

### 5/5 — Love it

### 5/5 — in loveee

*2025-01-25*

this app has helped me and my mental health so much!! first of all, mori is so sweet and cute 💕 the reminders took some time for me to get used to, but i’m able to live in the moment and treasure my life a lot more. if you’re considering getting this app, i would totally recommend!! it might not be your style, but it’s not creepy or anything and is honestly such an inspirational idea 🫶 i’ve been using this for 4 months now and i don’t regret anything! xoxo

### 5/5 — great and unique app

*2024-07-29*

I'm not really sure why is it so unpopular. One of the best things I've found on internet

### 5/5 — Top 5 maybe 1

*2024-07-03*

I think I have all of the memento morí apps and this one is in the top five or maybe even 1

### 5/5 — Happy with the app

*2024-06-01, version 1.3*

I found this app because I already use the (very excellent) Worrydolls app made by the same creator.
After looking at the subject matter for this new app, I have to admit I didn’t download this one straight away, I was a bit nervous about using it in case I found it frightening, or made my anxiety worse.
I came here to say I had no need to be nervous, and I’m so glad I downloaded it.
The reminders in the app and it’s demeanour do not frighten, instead they empower. Empower you to realise that it’s safe to live your life with intention, because you have no reason not to, and to make the little insecurities you have seem to matter far less by keeping your focus on the things in your life that are truly important.
The here and now is so precious, and Mori reminds you in a way that is powerful but not scary.
The app also has a customisation feature that allows you to personalise the app with your own pictures that Mori can use to give you reminders relating to specific things or people in your own life, making it all the more significant and this is a great feature.
This app I believe is starting to help bring me more of a sense of inner peace. I won’t give away too much of what Mori says so you can discover for yourself but it really struck me that he says remembering that you are going to die one day sets you free, and I like that - it’s true.
There really is no reason not to live your life in whatever way makes you happy and go after your dreams.
Just a suggestion of what could make it even better would be a “place you love the most” mission. I think it would be really powerful to be able to put a photo of your favourite place in the app that you love to go to, or place that’s special to you, to remind yourself that you won’t always be able to go back, and there will be a last time ever that you go there.
Really great app, thank you 🙏

### 5/5 — I almost died

*2024-04-21*

Today I almost get hit by car luckily I didn’t, an hour later received a notification form Mori. I can explain how it made me feel. Thank you.

**Developer response:** Wow i am relieved that you are ok! Thank you for your message it has boosted my energy 💪💪
