Definitely easier than renaming a large group of files manually. Also very reasonably priced for the amount of time the developer took to write the code. I also like that it is a fixed price instead of some crazy subscription for an app that I wouldn’t use very often. ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Hangs up and cannot do the job *2025-09-15* This app is worthless for iPad Pro m1. It locks up, and sometimes it lets you type one letter every 30 sec. I want my money back. **Developer response:** Have you updated the app? The issue has been fixed in the latest version. It only occurred when renaming hundreds or thousands of files, and it's now handled much more efficiently. I used a tiny renaming program over 20 years ago, for Windoze, to edit code and it had a ton more find and replace options than this AND didn’t give me more to fix after. This could be SO good. Vielen Dank! support@marcotini.com ### 1/5 — Terrible app *2025-01-20* Was looking for something to change the entire name with something different. This app only adds to the existing file name. So the app name “Renamer” is misleading. **Developer response:** Thank you for your feedback. We have now added the functionality you were looking for. You can now completely rename files with different names using the Complete rename option. The app now supports both adding to existing filenames and complete file renaming. We appreciate your review as it helped us improve the app for all users. If you would like to try the updated version, it now includes all the features you needed. ### 3/5 — Great but Number 1 issue *2025-06-02* Great application; it can change file names from other applications folders; but the issue with 1 being added at the end of file names still exist; I didn’t understand the developer solution with disabling counting files. Hope these issue got fixed. **Developer response:** Thank you for the feedback! The “1” being added to filenames was indeed a bug and has been completely fixed in the latest version. No more unwanted numbers will be added when using prefix/suffix options. Thanks for helping improve the app! ### 3/5 — Adds a "1" to the end of filenames? *2025-06-01, version 1.0.2* As noted, the number 1 is added to the end of all filenames, rather odd. Also does not support regex or wildcard matching ### 3/5 — Fine start, but… *2025-03-14* Works well, except for one glaring flaw. It appends the end of each renamed file with a ‘1’, so one is obliged to still go through the files one by one to remove this added ‘1’. I have not found a way to not have this happen. **Developer response:** Thank you for your feedback! We've just released an update that addresses this exact issue. The new version includes an option to completely disable the counter in filenames, which will prevent the "1" from being automatically added. In the latest update, when using the complete rename feature, you'll now find a toggle labeled "Use counter for filenames" that you can turn off. This will give you full control over whether numbers are added to your renamed files. ### 5/5 — Really good *2026-08-16* Makes things so efficient while organizing files, simple and effective. For example, the following would be extremely extremely useful: Filename: application_2026-05-02-export.zip Search: (.+)_(\d{2})-(\d{2})-(\d{4})(?:.*) Rename: $4-$2-$3_$1.zip Result: 2026-05-02_application.zip This would amazing if you could do this. Thanks! ### 5/5 — Updated from 1 Star to 5 *2026-05-04* The first time I tried this app was completely disappointing, and I thought it would be just another abandoned app. I’m very happy to have found I was wrong. I have now given a 5 star because it works and has several useful features, but I do think it could stand to be further developed. I was able to accomplish what I wanted, but I did need to play with it for a few minutes first. I think some would find it to be confusing if they had not used a program like this before. I very much appreciate the preview automatically adapting on the control screen for how the settings chosen will change the file name. **Developer response:** Please update the app, this issue was fixed months ago. We've also improved the renaming logic and overall reliability since then. ### 5/5 — Great tool against annoying suffixes *2026-04-07* My graphics software by default adds an automatic suffix to files exported in a certain resolution. I replaced the added text I was getting to each file—1,500 of them—when downloading books, articles, reference papers, etc into my Apple Books app. I spent two days trying to create a shortcut in Apple Shortcuts but couldn’t do it…even with Claude or Gemini. It took less than 30 seconds to do a find/replace action and BOOM all my Books were name changed, and I removed all the _ (underscore symbols) that had been added to my file names. I did download Batch Rename app—and paid 5$ for it, but that app DID NOT WORK. ### 5/5 — Trazendo funcionalidade de PC para o iPad *2026-01-09* Uma funcionalidade que antes era somente de pc windows agora feita de uma forma tão incrível, com integração nativa com os arquivos e com tantas funcionalidades de renomear é sensacional.
