### 1/5 — Be prepared to work with AI and no humans

*2024-06-19, version 1.17.1*

If you can find a different management company for your short term lease, you should.

### 1/5 — Don’t even bother

*2024-02-28, version 1.15.5*

I got attacked by one of my roommates and got evicted for defending myself! I was given one day move out and the guy on the phone told me I should have called the police while I was getting attacked. I would give this business one star I could

### 1/5 — THEY WILL STEAL YOUR SECURITY DEPOSIT

*2024-01-31, version 1.15.5*

The room was in crappy decision as is but They will keep a 1/4 of your deposit for “utilities” and then charge a random number for utilities, not show receipts, won’t refund the difference…. Scammers. Not to mention they did not have my key on move in date I have to wait 3 days to receive a key to enter the building.

### 4/5 — Overall experience

*2024-01-04, version 1.15.5*

Only thing that needs work is answering calls instead of being put on waiting for a couple of hours and not getting a hold of anyone.

I’ve called multiple times and been put on hold and never got to speak to a representative.

### 1/5 — JUNE HOMES WILL STEAL YOUR MONEY

*2023-11-30, version 1.15.5*

From start to finish, June Homes was a NIGHTMARE. After speaking extensively on my hesitation to be matched with someone dangerous, they matched me, a young female, with the creepiest, dead eyed, 65+ year old man ever. I then was transferred to a less desirable location but with a safe roommate. Why they couldn’t disclose roommate before moving in is beyond me. Obviously, I incurred a movers fee for this. However, they incorrectly listed my room as the listed room was occupied by my roommate. I then had to pay an additional deposit for the correct room. Upon moving out, they refused to acknowledge (even with screenshots) the adjusted security deposit I paid and would only partially return the original deposit for the smaller room my roommate was occupying. They held onto funds to cover utilities. I then kept receiving emails every month regarding rent. I asked to be removed from these reminders as I was no longer a tenant. They told me to “disregard the reminders” as I had no outstanding bills. I then set their emails to go into a unique folder so I wouldn’t be bothered by their inapplicable reminders. I then come back from vacation (this is 4 months after the lease ended) to find they’re threatening to report me for “breach of contract” for a utility payment. After speaking extensively to their accounting team and providing screenshots of their own confirmation I owed nothing, they demanded I pay an “outstanding utility bill” even after they partially withheld my security deposit for said utilities. Literally, any housing option would be better than the constant nightmare of dealing with June Homes.
The absolute WORST renting experience of my life. Never, ever, again.

### 1/5 — Left stranded

*2023-09-18, version 1.15.2*

I am having the worst experience with June homes. After paying over $2082, there was someone already in the room when I arrived. In addition they placed me in a room I didn’t want and left me there with no communication. This is my fifth day, they have been saying there will be the “resolutions team” that will get back to me but no one reaches out. The bathroom of the place I am at is filthy clearly not cleaned for a long time. The room I paid for was a decent size the room I have been place in barely has no room for my stuff. I am very frustrated. They have been so unreliable, if you are thinking of going with them DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY.

### 1/5 — Stay away from June Homes at all costs.

*2023-09-13, version 1.15.2*

- Moved into unclean room. It took 6 days for someone to come clean it.
- The app works fine, but you will never be able to speak to a person again. The company dedicates manpower to the sales team, then once they get you into a lease, you will never get quality service again.
- Every horror story I read in the reviews I saw online came true. It’s not worth it.
- Don’t say I didn’t warn you.

### 3/5 — Useful app but it's buggy

*2023-08-25, version 1.15.2*

Helpful app but buggy

### 1/5 — Avoid like the plague

*2023-06-18, version 1.15.1*

Staying with June Homes has been one of the worst experiences of my life. The apartment and room were *filthy* when I moved in. Our apartment had a cockroach infestation. The monitor I ordered with the room was nowhere to be found, but I was charged for it anyway.

They continuously added new monthly charges *after* the payment deadline, forcing me to pay the $2.95 “convenience fee” an extra four times in my two months living there.

They have withheld my security deposit for an illegal amount of time with zero communication. I finally emailed them, and they sent an automated message claiming they have a high volume of move-outs right now. I guess that gives them carte blanche to break the law!

Seriously, go with ANY other option besides these frauds.

### 1/5 — Do NOT book with them!

*2023-05-31, version 1.15.0*

This company claims it’s for students/interns/young people but the price for a bedroom- not an entire apartment- is outrageous. Me and my roommates signed our lease, liking that there would be a housekeeper for the main areas and that they would supply household items like toilet paper, soap, etc. The housekeeper does not clean. Our bathroom had so many brown spots I later realized was mold and we had to clean it after submitting tickets saying the bathroom was not cleaned at all. She came back and sprayed beach and turned on the water after I complained. It was not solved. They stopped delivering items and gave me and my 2 roommates 20$ each to buy supplies. Toilet paper and paper towels are nearly $20 alone and they did not care. We couldn’t go over that or they wouldn’t discount it. Recently we had an infestation with ants. The landlord came and put down stuff to attract them but it was not nearly enough to kill them. I had to throw out several of my items and wash all my clothes as did my roommates because of the ants. JuneHomes said an exterminator would come and sent the day and timeframe. After I told them he didn’t come they did not respond to my ticket for 3 days. I had to buy products to treat it after 3 days of having no answers or communication because they also refused to let me contact the landlord. Now, they won’t refund me, they are blaming me and saying I interferes with the ‘treatment’ that I proved with videos did not kill the ants. I’m a student and I work a lot of hours. They charge an extra $109 basically to be your landlord and they cannot communicate and do not help. Whatever you do, do NOT book with them. If you do, only a max of 3 months so you can find somewhere else. Don’t make this mistake!

### 1/5 — Stealing

*2023-05-17, version 1.14.1*

This company steals money. Don't use it!

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Trash

*2025-12-28, version 1.19.0*

June Homes is the worst place you can book a room with. Overpriced for no reason at all.

### 1/5 — Constant threat of eviction

*2025-11-04, version 1.19.0*

Even if you have only just moved in to your apartment, you will be faced with constant threat of eviction if somebody else wants your apartment when your lease expires. You’ll have to come up with thousands of dollars within a 24 hour Period to secure your apartment for any time after the lease expires. I have been an excellent tenant for the past three years always paying my rent on time. You will never feel safe with a constant threat of eviction.

### 1/5 — Terrible app

*2025-10-07, version 1.19.0*

Was forced to use this app for an Airbnb I rented, and it was extremely frustrating to use. You’re required to submit a move-out report before leaving or else you incur a fee, and the app would constantly crash or fail to submit the report. I had good WiFi when doing this and when I finally got it to work after 15 minutes of attempting, it took 2 minutes to submit. The other pages also freeze constantly making the app unusable. Joke of an app, most definitely the worst app I’ve personally used. This was definitely vibe-coded.

### 1/5 — More trouble than it’s worth

*2025-07-31, version 1.19.0*

Every month this leasing company finds a new way to be incompetent or screw me over. I’ve been triple charged for rent, the fees for rent submission are ridiculous, and last night I slept on the wooden floor bc my mattress mysteriously disappeared from my room - June homes apparently has no record of this so that’s great. They make it so easy to get you into an apartment and then once you’re there it’s literal nonstop pain.

### 1/5 — Why is it so difficult to apply

*2025-07-22, version 1.19.0*

I can’t log in, customer service can’t see my photos, I create another account, I can’t apply, I call and they aren’t open, their listings on other websites have lower prices than their own. It’s like they don’t want to rent.

### 1/5 — Scummy company - avoid

*2025-03-08, version 1.18.0*

Lots of hidden fees and costs for a mediocre service. Very apparent they don’t give a f* about their tenants and just want to rinse them for what they’re worth on short term contracts…rinse repeat. Avoid if possible.

### 1/5 — The WORST thing ever

*2024-10-20, version 1.17.1*

Living at June Homes was the worst thing I could have ever done for myself lol- granted this was my first time renting but I figured, I’d give co-living a try since it was better than my situation at the time. Despite the house being beautiful. It was extremely dirty and the “cleaners” never did their job correctly. Before moving in the fridge had been disgustingly vile (it looked like it was thrown up at the bottom of the freezer and it hadn’t been cleaned in months according to my roommate- WHO AT THE TIME- had to give me a tour because the landlord couldn’t be bothered to. Anyways.. they promised they’d clean it before I moved in but it wasn’t and not only that it took them 2-3 months to clean the fridge after MULTIPLE conversations were had and them telling us it was clean when it was not and that’s not even the worst part, we had to pay for things that weren’t our fault and were there before either of us moving in. I made a review before but they bribed me to take it down by giving the money that they took from me unfairly (up to $200) and yes I took it because I needed the money to PAY for the rent. We paid for cleaning services every month just for them to come in clean the same spot and dip and I witnessed it. That is not even the worst part though! Our front door lock broke and guess how many months it took them to fix it? 3 MONTHS. I’m already an anxious person and I feared for my life and possessions the entire time. We kept contacting them over and over and it took them forever to come here and “fix” it again and again and again. During that time I decided to move out because I was always scared and that’s what I did but not after being unfairly charged for things that were not relevant to me moving out. If there is anything I’ve learned from this experience is if you are touring, take note of things and report them immediately. Keep your evidence in case they say you didn’t do certain things and be careful!

PmfS. The linen closet on the upstairs floor of the place I loved caught on fire the day that I moved in because of faulty lighting and they had throw pillows directly on/ under the lights…. Anyway don’t rent with them if you don’t wanna suffer like me and my roommates my roommates had it worst at another location in DC as well so…

### 1/5 — Use Roostup not Junehomes

*2024-10-09, version 1.17.1*

Junehome has significant issues with accountability, unexpected charges, and poor maintenance response. The management fee of $119 covers nothing substantial, and the company places the burden of problems, like rodent infestations or trash management, on tenants. Additionally, it's advisable to have a lawyer review the lease before signing. Overall, I recommend looking elsewhere, such as Roostup.

### 1/5 — Never again

*2024-09-27, version 1.17.1*

Some of the worst experiences we’ve had ever.

### 1/5 — Never use June homes

*2024-07-30, version 1.17.1*

Don’t you ever in your life use June homes it’s a horrible company

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Helpful Support Team

*2026-06-05, version 1.19.0*

The support team was very helpful (specifically Rou). She was on call with me the entire day and made sure that the relocation happens smoothly. In addition to that, she also facilitated the cleaning of the unit and made sure that I live in a safe and clean environment. And the best part was how easily accessible she was and worked out of her regular office hours to make sure the perfect living arrangement.

### 5/5 — Signature request from Landlord .

*2026-02-18, version 1.19.0*

I like how fast you resolved this issue. And also I’m impressed with the way requests are being handled as soon as complain is made.

### 5/5 — THANK YOU!

*2026-01-21, version 1.19.0*

Amazing help from the whole team! Mahinoor H. And John L.'s help will never be forgotten. They made everything possible and everything not so scary. Thank you 🙏

### 5/5 — Great Management, Other Variables Remain

*2025-06-04, version 1.19.0*

I’ve been really happy with June Homes as a management company. There are still landlords to deal with but June Homes does it for you. Repairing the washing machine has taken over a month, and groundskeeping is neglected, and I think all of this is due to the Landlord. Roommate matching is convenient but some are noisy or messy. They send apartment cleaners twice a month, which is very nice, and they reimburse you for shared cleaning supplies. I’m happy with my room and the kitchen, which are the most important parts. For convenience, cost, and locations, it’s hard to beat this option.

### 5/5 — Dishwasher and Toilet

*2024-07-09, version 1.17.1*

Both issues were quickly resolved.

### 5/5 — App not working

*2024-06-12, version 1.17.1*

Hello is the app not working . I open and log in and the home page is blank. I was allow to enter my email name and phone number but that is it. When I click on your app support is where it redirects me to a website I guess that does work. May want to check in to that.

### 5/5 — Solved my situation

*2024-01-17, version 1.15.5*

June homes were amazing in relocating me to a different location when I raised that the place I was, was not good enough. They followed it up quickly and relocated me.

### 5/5 — Great Place

*2022-03-19, version 1.4.39*

Great place, great facilities and great people!

### 4/5 — Solid app could be better

*2025-08-08, version 1.19.0*

The app contains a lot of useful information and I have used it pretty regularly during my stay. Not quite five stars because of some of the UI quirks I’ve discovered. In the notification menu if you scroll too far down it’s hard to scroll back up because it thinks you’re selecting a message to read. I would also appreciate the option to mark a notification as “read” but currently you can only delete and the red notification bubble is not always in sync with the number of unread notifications I have. But still, I appreciate that this app exists and it hasn’t given me any real trouble.

### 4/5 — Please add a GUI designed for an iPad

*2025-01-05, version 1.18.0*

I use my iPad for everything but the Junes Homes application is bad size.
