## What is RentCheck?

RentCheck is a deposit defense toolkit built for renters. From move-in day to the final handover, it helps you collect, secure, and use evidence step by step so your deposit is no longer unfairly deducted.

Collect evidence:
- Photos with automatic timestamp watermark
- Utility meter readings for move-in and move-out, with usage calculated automatically and photo proof attached
- Short video evidence for full property condition records
- Item checklist with three states: good, damaged, missing

Secure evidence:
- Same-angle comparison shooting with overlay guide and automatic before-and-after collage
- Each photo records a fingerprint to prove it has not been altered
- One-tap PDF evidence pack with handover page signed by both parties

Use evidence:
- Dispute evaluator: analyzes each deduction and estimates the refund you can fight for
- Demand letter generator: fills in facts and legal references automatically
- Step-by-step action path: negotiate, send demand letter, file complaints, or go to court

Timeline reminders notify you on move-in day, seven days before move-out, and on move-out day. A backup guide helps when you switch phones.

Privacy promise: all data stays on your device. No server, no account required.
