The app does exactly what I want it to... except once the phone goes to sleep then so does the app, it'd be nice to control the volume and tone also.

This app is elegant in its simplicity. Intuitive, useful, and FREE. 

It DOES have a SOUND to mark each period. It is turned on and off by the switch on the side of your phone. 

I use this app for timing chord changes while learning guitar.
