### 4/5 — I want to like this

*2026-05-05, version 1.1.8*

App randomly closes, most likely due to my use of beta iOS. I’ve discussed this with the developer and feel that it’s not the app.

### 4/5 — Very good app!

*2026-03-12, version 1.1.8*

I rated this as 4 stars, even though it is the BEST allstar app for iOS it is missing one important feature that would be highly welcomed; Apple CarPlay integration.

### 3/5 — good app but crashes with latest iOS

*2026-01-29, version 1.1.7*

Not sure what the go is but with current iOS the app crashes when connected to allstar node. Otherwise works well and has been reliable upto now.

### 4/5 — CarPlay

*2025-04-17, version 1.1.7*

Not compatible with CarPlay which means, in UK anway, you can’t operate the PTT whilst driving. A real shame.

### 4/5 — Crashes sometimes, interrupting calls

*2024-11-12, version 1.1.6*

This app will occasionally crash, disconnecting you from the call you're in. It also failed to load the list of stations for the first several times I tried to load that.

It also sometimes randomly disconnects (possibly correlated to network changes) without crashing, and is silent for several seconds before indicating that it's disconnected.

Audio quality is good when it does work, but it's too unreliable, so I'm back to using EchoLink for now.

Also the ability to search for nodes by location like the EchoLink app has would be very useful, the list of nodes tends to be too long to be useful to scroll through if you don't already know exactly which one you want.

### 4/5 — Great start, needs a few features

*2024-08-28, version 1.1.6*

I really appreciate what the dev has done here. Until this, only the one (beta, buggy) app allows for a direct allstar node connection. Anyway, this one works! Some wants in a perfect world: The watch app lacks the ability to hear through its speaker, and is merely a simple one-way PTT for the phone(Apple restriction). It'd be cool have more sorting for the large repeater list, and a last heard map/list which would be really useful. Another feature would be listen-only mode or just a dialer where I can connect to ASL nodes with allstar's codes like *72 etc... most of the nodes I regularly connect to like WinSys and hubnet error out with "Rejected: No authority found". I think the hub owners have blocked this type of client (and not DVSwitch which is weird). In any case, great effort by the dev and looking forward to seeing what it can become.

Update after reading dev response: most of the issues here are Apple's restrictions. Oh, Apple.

That said, the watch app lacks the ability to hear through its speaker, and is merely a simple one-way PTT for the phone. Additionally, there is no sorting for the large repeater list, and no last heard map/list which would be really useful. Also. it'd be useful to have multiple modes that allstar gives through a dialer or prefix, like listening only. And lastly, most of the nodes I regularly connect to like WinSys and hubnet error out with "Rejected: No authority found". Either the hub owners have blocked this type of client (and not DVSwitch which is weird) or there's a bug.

### 5/5 — Great great App for Amateur Radio

*2024-08-22, version 1.1.6*

Works seamlessly with superb audio quality. Way faster and easier than other Ham App for RoIP.

### 5/5 — The Best app all around

*2024-08-02, version 1.1.6*

This is the best app as of right now! So happy on how it performs on both EchoLink and on Allstar. It’s so amazing how smooth and easy this app cooperates like a simple walk in the park! Thank you for releasing such a well thought out application.

### 5/5 — Fantastic App!

*2024-03-25, version 1.1.5*

This amazing app has worked flawlessly for me and I LOVE it! After all the amateur radio enjoyment RepeaterPhone has given me and continues to give me, I would pay 10 times the price and still consider it a good value.

### 5/5 — Fantastic but

*2024-01-25, version 1.1.4*

Fantastic. Just letting you know anyone using repeater phone with callsign beginning with a number times out at exactly 45secs. Like mine 2E0UKH on allstar my friend who runs freestar has had over 20 queries on why can’t connect using repeater phone. Email me for details. Thx for the the hard work u put in.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Login

*2026-03-04, version 1.1.8*

I tried to set up my account and i always get “authentification failed”.

### 1/5 — iOS issues

*2025-07-27, version 1.1.7*

iPhone 12 no issues but iPhone 16 pro will not connect

### 1/5 — The perfect app atrociously run

*2025-03-12, version 1.1.7*

I am just blown away by the fact that there is absolutely no options to differentiate conference or location within the RepeaterPhone app for All-Star or EchoLink

### 1/5 — App doesn’t work on Echolink

*2024-05-17*

Echolink has a major problem and i advised.them about it and nothing ever got done about it … just doesn’t connect whatever you connect to Relay or direct or proxy … totally useless

### 1/5 — There are bugs BUT

*2023-09-17, version 1.1.4*

The potential once they are worked out is awesome. I will support the developer so that this awesome app can reach its potential. Update 8/15/23. Reached out to developer with another potential bug. Blew me off. He got my 8 bucks so what does he care. See ya. Not even the courtesy of a response. Even if it only happened to me not even an email saying anything. I got his attention with a one star review though. Proof in point.

**Developer response:** Update 8/17/23: This user has a bug that only seems to happen to him, so I suggested he reach out to other users for their experiences while I find time to investigate. It seems I did not resolve his issue fast enough for his liking, hence the 1-star review and the “blew me off” comment. In fact, I do care a lot, but I ask for a bit of patience as this is a side hobby.

### 2/5 — Many Allstar nodes reject this apps connection attempts

*2025-05-16, version 1.1.7*

Seems Repeaterphone uses node-less, unauthenticated access to hub nodes. Seems large hubs disable “allstar-public” access to block abuse. This prevents me from accessing the large southcoastreflector network I’m interested in. I confirmed with the network admin. that he has disabled “allstar-public”.

Several forum posters reported these issues with this app., and the only alternative is Android based DVswitch. Appears the developer is also aware of the issue for a couple of years now, and has no resolution.

So, before spending your money- validate the access requirements of your favorite node network hubs.

### 2/5 — Crashes for me under IOS 17.6

*2024-08-09, version 1.1.6*

I want to like this app but I can't seem to use it without it crashing. Going back to the old free Echolink app.

### 2/5 — Almost like it BUT

*2024-05-07, version 1.1.5*

I love to listen to different NODES and Conferences, BUT when you lock the screen it will close the connection and ends everything. Both Echolink and Allstarlink will NOT run while screen is off. Lame.. Rather go back to the Original Echolink APP and Zoiper.

### 2/5 — Crashes frequently

*2024-04-09, version 1.1.5*

Unfortunately after using this app on my iPhone for the last two months I cannot solve the constant crashing. The app has been unreliable for me.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Great app

*2026-03-16, version 1.1.8*

This app works really well. Good audio to my Allstar node and beyond. Would be great to have some DTMF presets on the dial page. So I could send stored connect and disconnect commands.

### 5/5 — Finally!! iOS version has been made!

*2026-01-29, version 1.1.7*

This is an excellent program and special
thanks to WES for making this happen!
Important note for those beta testing, 26.2 has broken this app. Do not update your phone to beta versions until they get this resolved.

### 5/5 — Excellent

*2025-05-30*

Very smooth running. My only wish would be the inclusion of the CQ function as was added to the original EchoLink app. Otherwise, a pleasure to use.

### 5/5 — Fantastic

*2025-05-04, version 1.1.7*

This app is fantastic for any ham interested in getting access to digital modes. Works flawlessly.

### 5/5 — Love it

*2025-03-19, version 1.1.7*

Love this app great work.

### 5/5 — An amazing app that keeps everyone connected

*2025-03-18*

I really enjoy this app and love the fact that it is very stable, you can talk directly with people on the radio on the other end. And while you have the ability to talk with everyone anywhere in the world, I wish they would at least orginize in some way an optimal way to orginize the nodes at least by location or perhaps group chat. I am not dinging them for that though, it just makes it more difficult to get going. With that being said, I'm not techie enough to even attempt a node, I'ld never be able to get it going. Fabulous tool.

### 5/5 — Super Application!

*2025-03-03, version 1.1.7*

Je recommande cette application, elle fonctionne super bien. Très bonne qualité audio et facile d’utilisation.

Merci
Eric VE2VXT

### 5/5 — I wish

*2025-02-24, version 1.1.7*

I wish I could see the total number of people connected to the node even before I connect. Thanks for the app.

### 5/5 — Great App

*2025-02-06, version 1.1.7*

Takes amateur radio to a new level.

### 5/5 — Great aAternative

*2025-01-17, version 1.1.7*

This is a really nice value alternative that does not require any expensive special hardware other than a phone. Just set your credentials and you are on the air.
