## What is Replied?

Everyone gets the same message. Everyone races the same clock.

Replied is a daily typing challenge. One message drops each day - a famous quote from a film, a book, history, or science. You get three attempts. Your best passing run counts. Then you see exactly where you landed against everyone else in the world.

It takes about ninety seconds. Then you're done until tomorrow.

HOW IT WORKS

- One message per day, the same for every player worldwide
- Three attempts, and your best passing run is the one that counts
- 70% accuracy minimum: raw speed alone won't cut it
- Global leaderboard, ranked by WPM
- Build a streak by playing every day

BUILT FOR PEOPLE WHO CARE ABOUT TYPING

Replied measures honestly. Accuracy is calculated against the full target, not a forgiving prefix, so you can't game it by bailing early. Longer prompts keep WPM meaningful instead of letting a lucky three-word burst inflate your number.

PRACTICE MODE
Unlimited free rounds against past messages. Warm up, chase your personal best, or just type for the sake of it.

RECALL MODE
The message appears for five seconds, then vanishes. Type it from memory. It's a different skill entirely, and it's harder than it sounds.

TYPING INSIGHTS
Replied analyses your actual mistakes on-device and tells you what's costing you: the characters you fluff most, whether your errors cluster at the start or the finish, and whether your speed is quietly wrecking your accuracy.

CATEGORY BREAKDOWN
See your speed and accuracy across challenge types. Strong on Quotes, weak on Science? Now you know.

COMPETE WITH FRIENDS

Add friends by username. Challenge them head-to-head: same message, best of three, winner takes the round. Compare your daily results on a friends-only leaderboard.

KEEP YOUR STREAK

Miss a day and your streak breaks, unless you've got a shield. Everyone starts with one, and you earn more by playing. Twelve color themes to make the app yours.

SHARE YOUR RESULT

One tap turns your run into a card worth posting. Your speed, your accuracy, your rank, your streak.

FREE. GENUINELY.

Every feature above is free, forever. No ads. No tracking. No data sold. No paywall waiting to spring on you once you're hooked.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.4 — 2026-08-28

# Replied 1.4

- Redesigned the challenge screen with a cleaner floating header — your content now scrolls edge to edge, and the challenge card shows the author, number, word count, streak, and genre at a glance.
- Brought that same header to the Piranha Test, Alphabet, 1v1, Practice, and Recall screens for a consistent look throughout.
- Clearer crown rules: the crown is now abandoned after three quiet days and passes on, and the explainer reflects that.
- Polished details across the app, including consistent stats and fonts on your profile.

### 1.3 — 2026-08-20

Achievements are here, and there's a lot more to see about the crown.

45 ACHIEVEMENTS
-Streaks, speed, accuracy, the crown, the speed tests, and a few you'll only find by accident. Locked ones show how close you are.
-Everything you've played counts toward them, so your achievements screen is already populated the first time you open it.

THE CROWN, EXPLAINED
Tap the crown to see who has worn it this month, how long each person held it and the score standing between you and it. If someone takes it from you, you'll find out when you next open the app.

SHIELDS, EXPLAINED
Tap your shields to see how many you're holding and exactly how many challenges until the next one arrives.

THE CROWN CAN NOW BE ABANDONED
Go three days without playing and the crown passes on — the next passing score takes it, whatever that score is.

A NEW SHARE CARD
Your three attempts as bars, the winning one in your colour, the score sitting on it.

FIXED: YOUR STREAK COUNTED THE WRONG THING
The streak only advanced if you used all three attempts. Passing on the first and walking away didn't count, and typing "done" to finish early actively cost you the day. Passing is completing — attempts two and three are optional now, as they always should have been.

FIXED: SHIELD PROGRESS WAS BEING THROWN AWAY
Shields come back every 14 challenges. If you were already holding three, that counter still reset at 14 and gave you nothing — two weeks of play for no reward. It now holds, so the next shield is ready the moment one breaks.

ALSO
- Mistakes are marked as you type in the daily challenge, not just in Practice.
- The reminder no longer arrives for a challenge you finished late last night.
- Two colourways adjustments: Midnight is now Marine and repainted a true navy; Forest is now Jade.
- The leaderboard scrolls properly on smaller phones.

### 1.2 — 2026-08-09

Crown
The crown is now a monthly race! It used to go to the highest score ever, which meant one early run could hold it forever. Now the top score each month wears it, and it resets on the 1st. Your reign counts the days you hold it and play, and the crown slowly turns to ash if you go quiet. The all-time record still stands on its own. Redesigned to look sharper, too.

Monthly Leaderboard
A new tab showing this month's standings, so you can see the race you're in.

Speed Tests
Two fixed-text challenges under Challenges. Type the alphabet, or the standard 160-character phrase used for timed typing attempts. Both have to be exact — one wrong character and the run doesn't count. Race the record — it sends its answer at 17 seconds, so you'll know exactly how close you got.

Practice Modes
Results now mark the parts you missed, and Practice can trace mistakes as you type if you turn it on in Settings. Choose between short, long, punctuation-heavy or random quotes. Practice, Recall and the speed tests now work with no connection at all.

Shields
Redesigned the shield and refined how it cracks. You can now top off your shields for $0.99 if you'd rather not wait — they still come back free as you play. Added shield warnings, streak-break notices and milestone notifications.

Scoring fix
Your speed was calculated from the full length of the challenge even if you submitted before finishing it, so stopping early could inflate your WPM. It now counts what you actually typed. Saved Practice and Recall bests are reset once with this update — the old numbers were recorded under the wrong formula and can't be corrected.

Also

Your score — speed weighted by accuracy — now shows on every result. It's the number the leaderboard has always ranked on.
A Rankings card on your profile: where you stand today, this month and all-time.
The Best Attempt card now works. It had been empty since launch because the result was never saved.

### 1.1 — 2026-07-24

Your history, visualised — and a crown worth fighting for.

NEW: THE CROWN
One player holds the highest score ever recorded. They wear a crown next to
their name everywhere in the app, and every day they keep it adds to their
reign. Beat the top score and it's yours — no matter when you started playing.

NEW: ALL-TIME LEADERBOARD
A new tab beside Today and Friends showing the best scores ever posted.

NEW: YOUR MONTH AS A CHART
Your profile now draws your month as a continuous line: unbroken while your
streak holds, and visibly broken where you missed a day. Drag across it to
inspect any day. Switch between raw WPM and Score, which is speed adjusted for
accuracy — the number the leaderboard actually ranks on.

SHIELDS THAT SHOW THEIR WORK
Streak shields now cover up to three missed days, and the shield visibly cracks
as that window runs out, so you can see trouble coming. Tap the shield or the
crown any time to see exactly how they work.

BEST ATTEMPT
Find out whether you usually nail it first try, or build up to your best.

FRIENDS
See the requests you've sent, and cancel any that are still pending.

FIXES
- Streak shields are no longer spent on days you actually played
- The daily reminder no longer fires after you've already played
- Your streak now updates when you open the app, not just when you play
- Typing is smoother, and refreshing is noticeably faster
- Finishing early now feels like a real conversation
- Fair play: challenges must now be typed — dictation and paste are blocked everywhere, including head-to-head matches
- Changing your username on the fly added
