### 2/5 — I wish this app was more reliable.

*2023-03-23, version 3.1.1*

It’s not robust - using cloud services to detect license plates and (maybe) locations is fine - but when the APIs fail, this app has no fallbacks. Hangs and error messages… :(

### 3/5 — Needs more backend support

*2022-09-20, version 3.1.1*

App is amazing when it works, but seems to break fairly often and no support to fix it

### 1/5 — Can’t find my credentials. Forgot password does not work

*2022-09-20, version 3.1.1*

Can’t find my credentials. Forgot password does not work

### 1/5 — Doesn’t work

*2022-06-28, version 3.1.1*

Yeah, can’t upload photos.

### 1/5 — Reported

*2022-06-27, version 3.1.1*

Doesn’t work. You take pictures and you get a error message saying no location. Waste of space

### 2/5 — Could Be So Good

*2022-06-26, version 3.1.1*

I love the idea for this app, unfortunately it usually does not work.

It often won’t let me upload a photo, when when I do it tweets it out but it says that all my submissions to 311 are “pending”. I’m not confident that they’re even being sent into the city.

I would love an update to get this app working again, it could be a tremendous asset.

### 1/5 — Can’t upload photos

*2021-11-10, version 3.0.0*

Tried to upload a photo to submit a report but the app couldn’t accept the pic (really? from an iPhone?) and thus wouldn’t let me submit a report. So, totally useless. Would be great if it worked.

### 1/5 — Used to be great

*2021-08-21, version 3.0.0*

I ride a good couple hundred miles around the city on a weekly basis and with that amount of time spent behind bars it’s pretty easy to encounter several TLC folks behaving badly. I’ve been on countless phone hearings against dangerous drivers in the past but now I can’t report a SINGLE one because the app will no longer accept any of my photos and I guess without a photo there’s no way to file a report! Seriously my dudes, I remember the addresses and I have the license plate info, just let me file the friggin report against these jerks.

### 1/5 — Can’t upload from camera roll

*2021-07-19, version 3.0.0*

I am unable to upload a photo from my camera roll. It says “Can’t extract exif data from photo. Please, select a proper photo.” This is a major bug that essentially makes the app useless.

### 1/5 — App is a scam

*2021-03-16, version 3.0.0*

This app is a scam. It takes all your information and the developer low key markets it. I get nothing but spam now.

Also the concept of this app is garbage, targeting one group of people when there are many different types of offenders.

DO NOT DOWNLOAD THIS MALWARE. ONLY YOU CAN PREVENT COMMUNISM.

### 1/5 — Why fix if ain’t broken?

*2021-02-24, version 3.0.0*

This was an excellent app that, in typical work for sake of work style, got updated and now is unusable. Report form is totally broken and can’t upload pics from phone - invalid file, really?! Did you get hacked by the offenders?

### 1/5 — Stupid idea

*2020-11-19, version 2.3.3*

Stupid idea

### 2/5 — Location Software Maddening

*2020-02-12, version 2.3.3*

I downloaded this app after a neighbor in my co-op recommended it to me to report traffic violations like illegally parked cars. I downloaded it yesterday after remembering that I had photographs of an illegally parked car that stalled my bus this past weekend by parking ahead of the bus in the bus stop. On the one hand, it is simple to report photos from the past incident on the app. On the other hand, location services is a mess. I initially disallowed location services because the location occurrence was on a bus four or so days ago, so I figured I was going to type it in. This cause an error message; the app would not let me type in the address. Then I tried temporarily “allowing once” location services. Same no-go error. Finally, I allowed it permanently, and rather than letting me pick the intersection and address on the map, the app forced me to use my current address, which was at home, not where I was on the bus. I suppose that is good for in-the-moment reports, but if you are on a moving vehicle - like a bus - without wi-fi, or on a bike and not trying to use your phone while riding, then this is impractical. Also, forcing me to use the location from which I am reporting to the app, and not allowing me to pick an intersection, means the tweet and hashtags and photo map are all published incorrectly. I ended up getting a response from the City in a few hours after my complaint, only to receive the wrong area’s response because the app had the wrong location tags. Two stars for a poorly thought out complaint form.

### 2/5 — Bugs!!!

*2020-01-08, version 2.3.3*

Love this app if it worked! Reported drivers automatically get moved to RESOLVED immediately, and when I click to check on status the app crashes. I deleted the app and reinstalled and can’t login because nothing happens after I hit the log in button. No popup, no failure, nothing. So I guess I just won’t use it anymore?

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Useless

*2025-09-12, version 3.1.1*

Can’t file a report at all because the only way to get started is to upload a photo-which it doesn’t let you do. Seeing how much worse cyclists are treated as of late, can’t help but think this is intentional.

### 1/5 — No longer working

*2025-08-25, version 3.1.1*

App doesn’t work anymore. No matter how many times you delete and download. Used to be great. Please fix

### 1/5 — Error 503

*2025-02-11, version 3.1.1*

App stopped working no matter what you do. Gives you error 503, doesn’t explain what the error means.

### 1/5 — Wretched UI

*2024-08-02, version 3.1.1*

Every version full of bugs that make it impossible to use.

### 1/5 — App Is No Longer Operable

*2023-07-31, version 3.1.1*

It’s July 31st, 2023 & for the past month and a half, the app constantly errors with some ‘503’ error when attempting to complete a reporting.

In an attempt to troubleshoot it. I deleted the app, shut down my iPhone, restarted, & re-downloaded the app. No happiness. Now it doesn’t even allow me to log in. And yes, I’m sure I entered the correct email and password.

Don’t waste your time. Unfortunately, I did.

### 1/5 — It used to work, now it doesn’t

*2023-07-25*

It’s July 25th, 2023. The last time this app actually worked, where I was able to report something - without a ‘503’ error - was probably over a month ago.

Don’t waste your time.

### 1/5 — Bogus scam app

*2023-06-11, version 3.1.1*

Scam

### 1/5 — App Is Bogus

*2023-06-08*

Using this app, I’ve reported - for over a year and a half now - illegal parking done by MTA bus drivers on 6th Ave at Greeley Sq. Nothing has been done. These bus drivers continue to think they’re above the law & can block busy traffic - to literally have a smoke and look at their iPhones. This app has done nothing to stop the continued illegal parking these MTA bus drivers are doing. Wouldn’t be so bad - if this wasn’t one of the busiest traffic areas in the city. But there they are, blocking traffic. And this app hasn’t helped at all. I must have “reported” them AT LEAST 200 TIMES. Nothing…

### 1/5 — This app for loser

*2023-05-22, version 3.1.1*

This app for loser and sick people

### 1/5 — Can’t upload photos

*2022-09-24, version 3.1.1*

Get undefined is not an object evaluating t.map error whenever I try to upload photos, rendering this app completely unusable

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Used to be useful

*2024-12-24, version 3.1.1*

You can't file a report without a photo. You can't file a report *with a photo* unless you attach EXIF data filled with PII. Let me just file the report manually. The app used to support this.

At a time when people are driving more dangerously than ever, this app is failing its core mission.

### 5/5 — good

*2020-08-16, version 2.3.3*

very good nice app

### 5/5 — Easy to use

*2019-07-14, version 2.3.3*

I hope more people use this app. The car in bike lanes and parking in crosswalk and bad cab behavior needs to stop. Drivers need to be help accountable. If the can’t follow tunes they shouldn’t be driving.

### 5/5 — It works - just read the 1-star reviews

*2019-07-09, version 2.3.3*

I have a 80% success rate on the TLC cars I've reported so far. You only need to read the 1-star reviews of this app to know that it works - they are all from cabbies who have been reported through this app.

Cab drivers who selfishly put other road users in danger should be worried about this app, because now the public has a way to fight back (without having to break any mirrors).

### 5/5 — Cycle in NYC? This app is an essential!

*2019-03-21, version 2.2.0*

If you see illegal behavior by licensed TLC drivers—Uber, Lyft, black cars, taxis—simply take a picture open app and file a complaint with NYC 311. It takes just a few seconds. TLC will fine offended drivers. In some situations drivers will contest fine and in those situations—if you provide contact info—you will have option to testify by phone should the driver show up at a scheduled hearing. Hearings take about 10 minutes of your time. Cycling in NYC is frequently fantastic. When drivers endanger your life, and the lives of fellow cyclists it’s our responsibility to call out drivers who act without care toward us. This app makes it simple and fast to do so.

### 5/5 — This app is necessary

*2019-02-03, version 2.1.1*

This is the future. I ride a bike and ever since I started using the app I’ve noticed people become more cooperative. A lot of people can’t just follow the rules when a stranger asks, their pride gets in the way. They need a third party to get involved.

### 5/5 — Great app to fight back

*2018-12-21, version 2.0.6*

Taxis are crazy. This allows you to do your part. I only wish the creator would write better app update descriptions that are creative and more fun to read.

### 5/5 — We can finally fight back against reckless, scofflaw TLC drivers

*2018-05-18, version 2.0.5*

As a cyclist I have my life almost ended daily by these so-called "professional" TLC drivers who operate their vehicles outside the law in a manner which shows they have no concern whatsoever for other road users. Everyone's long since given up hoping for the NYPD to police the roads, but finally we have a chance to police them ourselves. The app is designed very well and makes it easy to not only report lawless drivers but also to track the outcomes as well. The fact that taxi drivers hate this app just shows how effective it's being. They talk to each other about it on forums and message groups, and word is getting round that we're out there. After having spent a couple of months reporting every TLC bike lane blockage I come across while cycling in my neighborhood, I've started to notice a change in behavior and have less blockages to report. They are warning each other not to stop in the bike lanes because of how many fines they've gotten, and this is exactly the intended effect of the app! Now the choice for them is clear - either respect the law and stop risking lives, otherwise it's going to cost you a pretty penny. A major force in the fight against reckless driving in this city and I just hope it isn't long before we can report all other kinds of drivers too.

### 5/5 — Gets results!

*2018-04-05, version 2.0.4*

This app makes it really simple to report safety violations made by NYC taxis. And, while it takes a while for complaints to wind through the bureaucratic process, it does get results!

As far as whether it’s fair to cabbies… Each complaint is reviewed by TLC inspectors who judge the complaint on its merits. If the cabbie disagrees s/he has the right to appeal the summons. At the end of the day, taxis are 2 ton machines that can do a lot of harm. Asking professional drivers to follow the law really isn’t asking too much.

### 5/5 — Ignore the bad reviews from cabbies

*2017-10-26, version 2.0.3*

This is a great app that provides an important service! Must download for anyone that walks or bikes in NYC!
