I don’t have to go out in the yard and look for it, and it never gets rained on or iced on. There also seems to be more content. ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Unstable *2020-01-30, version 2.9.10* The company wants me to use this daily, but every Sunday, it has problems downloading the current edition with a database error. Trying to report the problem makes for more frustration since they reset my password thinking I have account issues. At one point, they did admit technical problems, but there seems to be no effort to getting this resolved. I stopped the physical newspaper due to exorbitant price increases so this is now my only option and it stinks. ### 1/5 — Needs work *2019-07-07, version 2.9.10* The app only allows access to one device! If you try on a second device an error comes up that you have already reached your maximum devices? I’m canceling just like I did the always a day behind newspaper delivery that went up 41% last price hike! ### 1/5 — Horrible app. Don't bother. *2017-05-13, version 2.6.62* The print edition is supposed to allow a reader to browse in a daily newspaper format. Doesn't work at all. In fact, it says that the page is broken - and that's it. On the edition section, you can see the daily newspapers, by date (if this worked, it would be great), but when you click on the day you want, the broken page notification comes back up. I've been trying for three days. My mother has macular degeneration and is having trouble reading the Abilene Reporter-News (she's been a subscriber for years and years). Her specialist suggested that she get a reader that is backlit. She has an ipad, BUT she sure can't use it for the print edition because it just doesn't work. So, I went back to the regular Abilene Reporter-News App (there are two apps). I went in through that app and clicked on the e-edition. AND got caught is a loop that goes nowhere. It says welcome to my mom, please enter your password - did that, but then it says to enter her zip code and phone number, so they can sync all accounts. THEN a message comes up and says, this information is already linked to an account. HUH???? AND I can't get any further - it doesn't take me to the "already synced" account, and I have no way to get there. SO, I went to the APP on iTunes and clicked on "APP support" on that App..IT TAKES ME BACK TO THE Abilene Reporter-News App browser. WHAT??? SPLAT!!!! UNBELIEVABLE... ### 2/5 — Biden *2022-06-30, version 3.6.13* This is not Biden country. Anything about what the Biden bunch is doing needs to be put on a page of it’s own so it could be easily skipped. Put only local area news on the front page. It is very disappointing to see the word Biden anytime on the front page because every decision he has made has made life harder for the hard working people in America. Anyone that isn’t aware of this is living in a la-la land reality. ### 2/5 — Greed kills newspapers *2022-05-18, version 3.6.05* Alden Global buys community newspapers, cuts the staff to nothing and sells the property. (It works a lot better now that I got a better WiFi router) I normally view it on an iPad. I’ve had the app for about a year now since canceling my printed subscription because it was delivered about 9 pm the night BEFORE. The app is just a clone of the printed edition so I still get the stale news and black and white comics. ### 4/5 — Bring back paper *2021-08-12, version 3.3.14* I’d really rather have a good old paper newspaper! I like to read the paper ones while I drink my morning coffee. But the online one looks just like the paper one, and it’s very user-friendly.
