### 4/5 — 1

*2024-02-20, version 8.4.1*

Generally a great concept for an app, works perfectly fine !!

### 3/5 — Great app but overpriced subscription

*2022-11-20, version 8.0.2*

This app is amazing. I use it for personal reptiles to keep track of everything but the subscription is definitely needed for the app to be as good as advertised.

### 3/5 — Okay but definitely needs improvement

*2021-05-12, version 7.2.1*

For what it does this app works pretty well. It sounds like the developers have worked hard to increase stability in the last year. The problem is this is a fairly pricey app and it feels more like a beta version. There’s no documentation for the app so you’re left to guess what things do. One of the categories “hungry” makes no sense since your entire collection is always listed there. Not sure what the “premium” subscription does, I signed up for it over a week ago and it has yet to be applied to my account. I really like the idea of this app and I think with a little more work it’ll be a great app.

### 3/5 — Good but needs work

*2019-07-08, version 7.0.2*

There are misspelled words and feeding notes that don’t get saved. Also there is prey/food that is not listed but no way for the user to add it. And when the actual prey/food can’t be saved in the notes it leaves a basic function very incomplete. Please note that the Web interface is used add animals which then show up in the app. I’m going to try to use the app, but still need to use a spreadsheet to keep more granular feeding notes that I don’t want to lose. So it’s kind of a wash for me. I hope that future improvements will make it fully useful It is a good start.

### 3/5 — Didn’t work for me.

*2019-04-01, version 7.0.2*

The app hasn’t updated. It’s also confused on my snakes need to eat.

### 3/5 — UPDATE

*2018-05-30, version 6.4.1*

The app is good but needs an update, some things dont load. please update, thank you

### 1/5 — Waste of money!

*2017-06-30, version 6.4.1*

For $25 I expected much much better. It's outdated and crashes/freezes when trying to scan QR code. I will be asking for my money back.

### 1/5 — dont buy

*2017-06-25, version 6.4.1*

i wasted money. app never works.

### 4/5 — Awesome app

*2017-04-24, version 6.4.1*

Works great and very organized, everything works well but uploading a photo does not work. But a update should fix that hopefully.

### 2/5 — Good idea but lacking.

*2016-08-05, version 6.4.0*

Maybe just me but I was expecting more from such an expensive paid app but it is lacking in many areas such a shame because it is a great idea tho.

### 3/5 — One big problem for me!

*2015-08-04, version 6.3.0*

If you decide to use reptile scan with keeping track of let's say cleaning a tub there is going to be WAY TO MANY scans. Like if you clan poop (scan), if you change the water(scan), if the reptiles shed (scan). Plz think of something to fix this asap!

### 2/5 — Small glitch

*2015-04-04, version 6.3.0*

Just bought this app and I started to put my reptiles into it, easy to use but it opens then closes almost immediately after the 3rd time opening since I got it.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Poor design, lacking support

*2021-01-04, version 7.2.0*

The title says it all, don’t bother wasting your money on this application. Features are not user friendly.

### 1/5 — Data deleted from account

*2021-01-03, version 7.2.0*

The app just randomly deleted months worth of data and animals listed.

### 1/5 — The app use to be good but has went backwards

*2019-09-06, version 7.0.3*

We have had this app for almost two years. It was the best app and we loved it. It had the quick feed, quick clean etc. like it shows for the iPad app but it no longer has any of that and the needs feed and hungry list are basically the same thing with no other options for anything else now without really having to look for the options. Plus it’s misleading because it shows the old interface is still used for iPad but after downloading it I found out that it also is the same as the iPhone app now. Very sad and upset that after purchase no this app it has gone down hill so badly. It feels like a waste of money now.

### 1/5 — Too Bad

*2019-06-19, version 7.0.2*

App started out great. All the features I needed for my breading of Day Geckos. Unfortunately, I saved everything in the app and in the app alone. Didn’t have any information saved anywhere else. Logged in today and discovered that ALL of my information had been lost. Total shame. I have clutches in my incubator that I don’t know who the parents are. This is a MAJOR setback and disappointment because all of the information I needed for breeding, sales and lines, IS GONE. Too bad the info isn’t backed up anywhere. Thanks ReptileScan!

### 1/5 — Waste of $25

*2018-10-22, version 6.4.1*

I wish I had listened to the reviews. Spent hours inputting all my breeders into the system on the PC to realize this would take 10x the time as a paper and pen the way I have been doing it. Is there any way to return this? If so I would like to biggest waste of money I have ever seen in the App Store.

### 1/5 — Don't buy

*2018-04-22, version 6.4.1*

Don't bother paying for this app, it's useless. It wouldn't let me add any animals and was constantly 'loading' and never completing.

### 1/5 — Buggy and doesn’t work

*2017-10-30, version 6.4.1*

Doesn’t work as advertised. Buggy, does t scan or add reptiles properly.

### 1/5 — Terrible Customer Support

*2017-10-01, version 6.4.1*

Great App, but terrible customer support!! Upgraded to premium over 72 hours ago and account hasn't changed! Site says 24 hours... hmm.

Did receive email 24 hours later asking my user name, nothing in last 48.

Again, great app, but disappointed now!

### 1/5 — Few features work save your $$

*2017-09-25, version 6.4.1*

I bought this app a couple of years ago and returned it due to the abysmal customer service. I finally broke down and bought it again on a friends advice only to discover very few of the features work. Apparently the android version I’m infinitely better. All I can say is it’s better than nothing. Apparently you can get away with making a crap niche app and selling it for an exorbitant price. When you don’t have much in the way of competition.

### 1/5 — Nothing's working

*2017-09-20, version 6.4.1*

Just bought this and nothing will load on it. Says that reptile scanner cannot be loaded. Any help would be nice.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Too Good

*2024-11-06, version 8.4.1*

I honestly can’t function without this app. For somebody OCD, it makes keeping track of all your animal care the most organized and clean process imaginable.

### 5/5 — Excellent. Couldn’t live without it!

*2022-01-27, version 8.0.2*

I’ve been using reptile scan for almost 10 years. It makes keeping a large collection easy!

### 5/5 — Fantastic For Breeders

*2018-12-01, version 6.4.1*

I have been using this program for three years. I absolutely love it. My customers enjoy their print outs. I can give them every feeding, shed, cleaning even medication. You can also track year to year which snakes you have paired up and the outcome. The only downfall is the customer support. I had this program on an android device and recently switched to an iPhone. I sent a message and heard nothing back. I didn’t feel like I needed to pay for the program twice however because it is a valuable tool, I did purchase a second time.

### 5/5 — Works Great For Hobby Keeper

*2018-06-25, version 6.4.1*

I have been using this app for around 3 years now. I have 20 snakes, 2 torts, and have a few clutches of eggs per year. This works great for turning egg clutches into animals within the app, keeping track of feedings, shedding, and weight. It has some additional features I haven’t tapped into as well. I’m not big on writing reviews but I was surprised when I saw the low score associated with this app. It has always works great for me and helped me track everything in an organized fashion.

### 5/5 — Ended up being Awesome !

*2017-07-29, version 6.4.1*

I was skeptical about paying $24 for this app considering some of the reviews. I went ahead and took a chance. This app works great and I have had excellent communication from the developer. QR codes are perfect and they print tight to my label printer. Get this if you want to make things easier!!

### 5/5 — A great app

*2017-04-09, version 6.4.1*

After taking the time to learn how to use this app, I've found it to be really useful and it saves a lot of time

### 5/5 — A must

*2016-05-04, version 6.4.0*

This app has absolutely revolutionized the way I document my animals. I have over 50 ball pythons and they can be super picky eaters. Before this app, rodents were served on Sunday and Wednesday exclusively. Refused meals were documented on index cards. Now that I can track things effortlessly, I'm able to easily recall who responds to which methods.

"Does this snake prefer the rat dance? Maybe a little rat seizure? Or is it a shy eater and just needs to be left with the F/T rodent in cage?"

With this app, I can easily take notes and track stuff I just wouldn't have before simply because it's so easy. I would not have taken the time to track defecation before, but since it's a quick button press... Why not? Total and complete documentation has really stepped up my game.

This app is useable as a stand alone application or you can populate your collection via the website and manage it from there as well. Some aspects of the website are not present in the app, for example.. I'm not able to change the name of a reptile or hatch date if I mess up the initial entry. There are a few other fields that can only be modified via the website, but since I use both I'm not really bothered by it. I mostly use the app for husbandry tracking, with the QR code reader. I can also use it to add new reptiles on the road, if I pick someone new up and want to make sure I don't get the new additions confused with each other. I recently purchased two identical snakes, but was able to photograph them and create entries for them so I could verify their identities by referencing the photos & markings.

This is a great app, and it's really not that expensive when it comes down to what it can do. If you're fast and loose with thawing rodents for feedings, this app will pay for itself within a few feedings due to unwasted feeders.

### 5/5 — Great app

*2016-01-06, version 6.4.0*

Worth the money I had a problem at the start but a quick email to their admin soon resolved it. User friendly and simple would 100% recommend

### 5/5 — Amazing App!

*2013-07-07, version 5.3*

This app has been amazing for managing a larger collection. Easy to enter feeding, shed, ovulation data and it will maintain a database for long term storage of data. I'll permanently have pictures and buyer/seller/breeder/feeder info for every animal that has been in my collection. Cannot stress enough how awesome it is. Worth the $25!

### 5/5 — This helps so much with organization!

*2013-05-05, version 5.0*

I have a relatively small breeding program, but this app helps me keep every one of my snakes and their actions recorded and organized. The app and website allow you to enter in each of your racks, snakes, and clutches, then give every bit of detail on them. Once you've customized each online form, you can register actions from feeding to shedding to defecating. At a larger scale, you can print sales cards and rack labels, applying the virtual info to your actual snakes. I can't wait to set up at a Repticon when my current clutches' hatchlings are ready for sale... I will be relying on Reptile Scan to get me organized and focused! :) 5 stars and WORTH the money!
