### 1/5 — Come on Rescue time

*2023-11-27*

You actually have a fantastic shot at making the company ultra relevant again with the ability to use app focus time and yet there's not even a way to control which apps are blocked with Screen Time, this is an extremely mediocre app

### 1/5 — Have to enter “free trial” mode

*2023-11-22*

Nobody does this. It’s too risky to give an app that idk if I even like my credit card info where if I forget about it it’s going to charge me $70. No wonder this app is failing, no one’s even gonna try it if you create these barriers to the consumer.

### 1/5 — Poor design lacking features

*2023-10-26*

why can't I record an off-line activity that's already completed? Instead all I can do is set up a focus time which I don't want to do. There is some sort of bug with the seconds setting for a focus time that keeps causing the counter to reset.

### 1/5 — You cannot use this app without paying

*2023-08-31*

After you sign up for an account all you can see are two options for payment. There is no free version, it’s a scam. Do not download this.

### 1/5 — Pay to use

*2023-06-10, version 1.1*

Even if nothing indicated it, you need to create an account and then they proceed to talk about monthly payment options (12$/month). This is ridiculously expensive and you can't even see anything of the app. Can't know if I'll like it if I don't pay... Really disappointed

### 1/5 — Requires a subscription

*2023-05-31*

Went through the process of signing up only to find it requires a subscription to even use it. What's the Philippines nt when it can't track usage on mobile devices? Paying just for a report / dashboard seems silly.

### 1/5 — App is just dis functional

*2023-01-12*

I can’t access any info about my stats or anything. I think the developers do not care about the app. The desktop version is great don’t get me wrong, just app is a pile of trash.

Hopefully they fix it, that’s why i’m leaving a 1star

### 1/5 — It just didn’t work…

*2022-12-16*

I can’t even log in with the same credentials I use on desktop. The older version of app is use-able but doesn’t track phone usage at all (it tracks by sending picking up)… at this rate I’m better off using iOS built-in screen time tracker…

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Not useful app

*2025-09-22*

It’s not about rescue your time. It’s about wasting your time. Don’t do it, pls

### 1/5 — 無料プランが選べない。

*2025-07-25*

iOSではいると無料プランが選べない仕様になっていて残念。無料で使えるようにして欲しい。

### 1/5 — This app will not track your app usage on ios.

*2025-07-03*

I have paid $78 hoping to get a comprehensive app usage on my ipad/iphone, BUT this app failed to do so. It only gives you a lumsum ios total usage time and the activity is “ ios device “ without even helping you sorting ipad and iphone usages.

### 1/5 — Please bring back desktop stats to the mobile app

*2025-06-22*

The previous version allowed you to see desktop and mobile stats from the mobile app but now it feels like two different products. I really liked being able to check my desktop stats from the mobile app but now it only shows my mobile stats for the day. Why can’t we see weekly productivity scores just like the desktop app?

### 1/5 — Worthless App

*2025-03-24*

This app has been free for years, I have had it on my PC for a long time. They now want $15 a month for TIME TRACKING, just get a netflix subscription with the money, there are 1000 apps that do what this does for free.

### 1/5 — Free version does not work with iPad

*2024-12-16, version 2024.8*

The free version does not work with iPad and from what I heard the paid version does not either because the iPad does not allow app tracking. So, F this app.

### 1/5 — Appalling UI/UX

*2024-08-03, version 2024.4*

This app has great potential, but expecting users to pay for this is a scandal.

### 1/5 — Worst app ever!

*2024-07-30*

I pay for the desktop version and just wanted a quick way to check in to see my dashboard. This app has no connectivity with the actual desktop version so it’s completely useless.

### 1/5 — Nope..

*2024-05-28, version 2024.4*

Cost is ridiculous. The iOS screen time integration didn’t do anything so that never showed in reports. The app isn’t very intuitive or engaging. Web portal is pretty poor, not flexible or intuitive. I could be willing to try and make it work a bit more, but there is no way I’m paying that price.

### 1/5 — Not useful

*2024-02-01, version 2023.4*

This app is poorly implemented and doesn’t really cooperate with the desktop version; think about it, without the desktop version, why do I want to use this app?

### 5/5 — Taking my focus to the next level

*2026-08-12*

The thing that sold me is that it does the three things I actually wanted in one place. I can set goals, block the apps that pull me off track, and it stays lined up with what I'm really doing on my desktop instead of guessing. So for the first time I've got all my screen time covered, not just my phone, not just the browser, the whole picture.

Setting a goal and knowing the blocker will back me up means I don't have to rely on willpower. (Which is nonexistent 😂)

Been looking for something that ties all of this together for a while. This is the first one that does.

### 5/5 — Very helpful

*2025-11-10*

Very helpful for tracking time - especially when used with the desktop app.

### 5/5 — New version is great!

*2025-03-27*

Since they updated with screen time API, this app has been stellar. I’ve really enjoyed all the recent RescueTime updates.

### 5/5 — Works

*2023-09-25*

Works well, helps me focus, worth price.

### 5/5 — The app finally works on IOS properly

*2023-07-30*

Apple added the permissions for reading and controlling screen time and now the app works on iPhones, hallelujah

### 5/5 — A complete solution for focus tracking and habit building

*2022-11-07*

I’ve been a RescueTime user for years and I’ve come to rely on it to keep me focused while working at my computer. Excited to be able to take that focus with me on my phone!

### 3/5 — Good transition but needs improvement

*2023-05-26*

I like that Rescuetime is transitioning to an assistant-based approach, but I think they could do it without abandoning the dashboard and metrics—people need both! I also think they could incorporate something similar to their original dashboard into the iPad app, which would make it a lot more useful than the current version which is just a copy of the iPhone app that doesn’t work well on the bigger screen.

### 2/5 — Basic

*2025-01-08*

I tried RescueTime with the two-week trial, but it didn’t live up to expectations. The app only tracks time in a basic, non-automated way, forcing you to manually tag and enter time. It doesn’t provide the detailed app usage breakdowns I need, like timestamps or time spent per app at different hours. I expected more, especially for a paid version. Not worth it.

### 2/5 — Very poor app

*2023-05-15, version 1.1*

The activity section is totally broken, just a blank screen (even after trying to reinstall)

The app has to load EVERY time you load it, so if you’re running a countdown expect to wait every time you check it

The countdown itself is broken, sometimes focus time isn’t logged and every time you open it there’s a delay as it gets reloaded.

Such a simple task as a countdown timer should be implemented better than this

### 2/5 — Why aren’t you warning iPad users that this app won’t work on iPads?

*2022-11-20*

I read online that Apple won’t let RescueTime track app usage for iPhones or iPads. It would have saved me some time frustration if the app description had just said that, or at least said it when I opened the app. Unless something has changed? I’d love to actually use this app. I used it probably 10 years ago, and loved it. I even paid for it for quite a while. Now I’m trying to reduce my streaming time, so I was wanting to use the basic features again.
I do all my streaming on my iPad, so if RescueTime can’t track app usage here, then this won’t work for me.

Before I read that this won’t work on my iPad, when I installed this app and created a new account with my new email and signed in, it only let me choose between the 2 paid versions. There was no way to select the free version.

So that’s not a great user interface on both counts. This has all just been a waste of time.
