Stop tracking your tax residency in a spreadsheet. Residency counts your days in every tax jurisdiction you enter, checks them against that jurisdiction’s own rules and its own tax year, and keeps the evidence behind each day. Open the app to see how many days you have left, and how fast you are using them. EACH COUNTRY, ON ITS OWN TAX YEAR Most day counters run every country from January to December. The UK tax year runs from 6 April, so for anyone living between the UK and the US, a calendar count gets the UK wrong. Residency counts each place on its own year: the UK from 6 April, the US, Portugal and Spain from 1 January, the UAE over any 12 months and the Schengen area over any 180 days. The home screen shows the dates each count covers. A country and a US state are separate tests with separate rules. The US Substantial Presence Test and the UK Statutory Residence Test ties are each modelled from the authority’s own source. Florida counts upward: becoming a resident is the goal, and the app counts toward it. YOUR LOCATION NEVER LEAVES THE PHONE Your coordinates become a country name and are then deleted. Nothing is uploaded unless you ask. Your day record stays on this phone and can be protected by an encrypted backup file you export with a passphrase. MISSING DAYS ARE NEVER INVENTED When tracking stops, the count is shown as a range until you close the gap. A stay with an arrival and no departure is one anchored day, not an invented month. YEARS OF YOUR PAST TRAVEL, WITHOUT TYPING A DATE Photograph your passport pages and the stamps are read on the phone. Your photo library, boarding passes, a spreadsheet, and the official US travel record for visitors all import without manual entry. PROOF FOR YOUR ACCOUNTANT Every counted day names what it rests on: a stamp, a location fix, a boarding pass, or nothing. Export the record as a document when they ask for it. A RESIDENT PARTNER CUTS YOUR ALLOWANCE Partners and dependants can share an encrypted snapshot of their day counts behind a code they control, so you can read their counts without receiving location records. Residency is a record-keeping aid, not tax advice. Check your position with your adviser. ## Version history (last 4 releases) ### 1.3.2 — 2026-09-21 - Onboarding now scrolls and every onboarding screen has a Back button. If you use larger text, you can reach Get started and complete setup. - The backup screen now scrolls while the keyboard is open. You can enter a passphrase and still reach Save. - Buttons no longer cut off their labels at larger text sizes. - Days spent at sea now count toward no country. A crossing no longer keeps you in the departure port’s country. - Photos taken on someone else’s camera no longer create trips you did not take. If a day is only supported by another person’s camera, it becomes a question instead of a counted day. - You can now record that you hold a US green card. The US Substantial Presence Test is then not counted against you. ### 1.3.1 — 2026-09-17 1.3.1 changes nothing in the app itself. It lets the App Store show updated screenshots. In case you missed 1.3.0: each country is counted on its own tax year, the five UK questions set your UK limit, the 61-day child tie is included, days left means days you can still spend, and you can rebuild past travel from a passport. ### 1.3.0 — 2026-09-16 Each country is counted on its own tax year. Home shows which: UK from 6 April, US from 1 January. For the United Kingdom, five questions now set your limit: home, family, work, recent UK residence and 91-day history. It shows whether your limit is 183 days or as few as 16. A UK child tie counts only if you spend 61 days or more together there. The app assumes the tie until you mark days spent apart, so warnings come early. Days left now means days you can still spend. If your limit is 121, it shows 120 because day 121 makes you resident. If you hold a US passport, the US day-count test no longer applies to you. Your US days are still recorded. Near a UK limit, a card explains that a treaty can decide which country taxes you first, and can hand your record to your adviser. Passport scanning was rebuilt. Hold a page still and it is photographed for you. Every stamp found is kept, readable or not, and you settle unreadable ones on screen. Photo sweep reads your library in one go and asks how far back to go.
