I have message « audio unit extension closed » and can’t open it again in my project ### 4/5 — One BIG flaw -please fix *2022-09-16* Wonderful app great for grabbing found sounds as a basis for very quick rhythmic composition….one HUGE issue… There is currently no way to mute the speaker during live recording When using just the iPad on its own to record…. This leads to a very loud screeching feedback loop when you are trying to record. It would be great if holding down the record button offered up a menu selection like other buttons , where the live output could be muted during the recording phase (obviously this needs to be a toggle option as, if working with an interface and line instruments , this wouldn’t be an issue . I couldn’t figure out how to import a sample until I realized that you can copy and paste using iPads internal copy and paste system and it works quite well. I hope to bring this to a five star rating I just need to figure out how to use it in the manual would be extremely helpful. At least an updated video would be nice and I think a lot of people would jump on this app. ### 3/5 — It works kinda *2018-08-02* If the audio unit version of this application was to allow you to import a sound that you wanted to choose from the audio unit perspective then it would allow slicing to be a lot more intricate and easier. Having to import sounds into it and then export the sound out of it reminds me of an odd standalone version and it doesn’t put me in touch with my music. Make the audio unit be allowed to search for a sound of my choosing and I can set the slicing points inside of Cubasis or inside of beat maker 3. I would like to record but cannot adjust the tempo to what I want. All the review for this must be fake. In the app world $10 is a lot for a fake app. Very upset about this. Also, As soon as you try to use anything on this app it refers you to another one if their apps to download for more money. This is a clear scam by creating screen shots to entice but not deliver. ### 2/5 — Reslice, Recycle with added spice *2023-10-26* If you ever used Recycle back in the day with a hardware sampler you’ll know the basic premise of this app, add in Virsyn ‘s polyrhythmic arpeggiator and FX and you have a quite powerful package, very very useful. One thing that glares out and need changing however is the export facility. Export to files Exports the audio slices only….where’s the midi? Turns out that if you want to export the midi, audio, fxp etc you have to email it to yourself. Why? Why so clunky? Why make the assumption that the user isn’t on the move and has network access to receive the email? I’m on holiday with no Wi-Fi, on the beach, I’ve chopped my break and want to export it and the midi into another app. No can do. Go to wait until I get somewhere with Wi-Fi. Madness! Update 2023, still when you export to files no midi export, just the audio clips. Whyowhyohwhy?…. Also, why can’t you zoom in to get more accurate chops. You can’t get clean chops currently and have to edit them again separately. C’mon. Please! ### 2/5 — Slice Detection Inefficient *2020-04-25* Getting awful response from slice detection on any sample I bring in. Only reason I purchased was for supposedly unmatched slicing ability. Would appreciate a refund as it does not suit my needs. ### 2/5 — Cool but room for improvement *2019-05-04* Great app. Nice for experimental random finds. Some features that would make it 5 stars - Global transpose of a playing arpeggo via keyboard. Latch keyboard notes, so can add/remove notes without current difficulties for this. Currently you have to try to hold all held notes when adding or removing. Sometimes impossible with only 2 hands... Import/export via Files app. Global slices options for note length etc so can adjust all slices simultaneously. Been a while but really hoping these features find there way in to ReSlice. It feels like a bit of a missed opportunity without them.. ### 2/5 — バグを直してください🙇‍♂️ *2019-01-03* 機能的には素晴らしいと思います。 複雑なアルペジオの組み方とかまではやり方がよく分からず使えませんでしたが、ReCycleのように自動でチョップしてくれる機能はよく出来ています。 MPC的なトラックづくりがGarageBandでも出来ると思います。 しかし！ 自分はGarageBandでAudio Unitsで使うとバグって、使えなくなります。 このアプリを立ち上げたトラックがあると、曲のプロジェクトが開けなくなりました。 AudioLayerは多色のバグはあれど素晴らしい出来なのに、残念です。AudioLayerはiCloud同期が出来るので、iPadとiPhoneで同じ環境で作業出来ますが、本アプリはその機能もなく、プリセットもエクスポート出来ないようです。 バグが改善されればいいアプリなんですが。。。 iPhoneアプリとしては高いので、残念です。。。 ### 3/5 — Used to love it but… *2025-02-19* …It feels neglected by the dev, if I’m being honest. 1) Documentation please! There’s nothing in the way of a manual explaining anything. 2) Better State Recall: - Add capability to save FX rack configuration - active FX sequence + settings/state recall. - Cannot save general preset while in arp edit mode (as opposed to arp pattern presets.) 3) It crashes in Aum w Koala sending MIDI to it. 4) Possible to have overlay of filename for sample currently loaded so I know what I’m working with? 5) Where do session recording wav files get cached? Cannot locate a folder where they live. 6) When saving a session recording (not sample input recording) after you’ve saved an initial recording, the text field and text are black, and cursor position [which is located at end of persisting value for last name entered] is only thing visible on entire screen. 7) BPM automatically assigned to name is wrong (value shown is -1 of the bpm, so for example 130bpm becomes 139bpm.) 8) Tempo Control [Arp view > Arp tab] should have double-tap input field (in addition to existing tempo dial, which is incredibly tiny and finicky.) To create your own presets, use 16bit samples and work in standalone mode (so you can import easily from AudioShare). ### 5/5 — Please Add sustain knob feature *2019-07-14* I love this app but I’ve recorded a 4bar Launchpad loop which when is played on ReSlice it slowly decays, it’s a beat loop so I can let this happen and I want to use all 4 bars of the loop. I think this could be improved or fixed just adding a Sustain feature support. The arp adds lots of options to change the pitch and timing of the slices. The AU instances work great and can spice up your tracks.
