## What is Resonance Breathing?

Resonance breathing is slow, paced breathing held long enough that your heart rate, blood pressure and breath settle into one rhythm. At the right pace, the swing in your heart rate grows much larger. That pace is personal. Most people sit somewhere between 4.5 and 6.5 breaths a minute.

Resonance Breathing paces you through it, and helps you find your own rate.

WHAT'S INSIDE

- Practice: a visual, haptic or audio pacer at whatever rate and length you set. Close your eyes and follow the taps, or watch the breathing figure on screen.
- RF Test: a guided 15-minute sweep that finds your personal resonant frequency, based on the method in Fisher and Lehrer (2022). Needs a connected heart-rate sensor.
- History: your streak, your sessions, and how your rate settles as more readings come in.
- A short in-app guide, sourced to the studies behind it, if you want the science before you start.

WHY MEASURE YOUR OWN RATE

Six breaths a minute is a good place to start. Your own resonant frequency works better than a generic six, and the further yours sits from six, the more that gap matters. A Polar H10 chest strap gives the cleanest reading. Other BLE Bluetooth heart-rate monitors work too such as Whoop - but are much noisier and not particularly reliable for determining RF (multiple readings would definitely be needed). Apple Watch is not supported.

PRIVATE BY DEFAULT

Everything stays on your phone. There is no account, no server, and nothing to sync. Sessions can optionally be saved to Apple Health as mindfulness minutes.

Free, with no ads and no in-app purchases.

This is a wellness tool, not a medical device, and is not a substitute for medical care.
