## What is Restful Scripture?

Fall asleep to Scripture. Restful Scripture is a free, offline Sleep Bible that reads the whole Bible aloud in English, Mandarin or Cantonese. Pick a chapter, set a sleep timer, lock the screen — the voice fades out gently and stops on its own.

No ads, no subscriptions, no account, no tracking. Free forever.

TONIGHT IN THREE STEPS
1. Choose a chapter, or tap Tonight to continue your bedtime plan.
2. Set the sleep timer: 15 to 120 minutes, any custom length, or the end of the chapter.
3. Lock the screen. Narration keeps playing and stops when the timer ends.

NEW IN 1.1
• Read along: the passage being read is highlighted on screen, in three large text sizes. Hide it with one tap.
• Bedtime picks: Psalms for Sleep, Comfort from the Gospels, the Gospel of John and a Month of Proverbs.
• One chapter a night: the app remembers your place and shows tonight's chapter when you open it.
• Traditional Chinese text with Mandarin or Cantonese narration, and a Traditional Chinese interface.
• Choose your voice, and see which installed voices are Enhanced or Premium.
• Sleep timer: 90 and 120 minutes, custom times from 5 to 180 minutes, "or end of chapter, whichever comes first", and a 1, 3 or 5 minute fade.
• Your timer is remembered for the next night.
• Back 30 seconds and forward 30 seconds.

EVERYTHING ELSE
• All 66 books and 1,189 chapters, bundled on your device — no internet needed.
• Switch between English and Chinese without losing your place.
• Lock screen, headphone and Control Center controls.
• Pauses for calls and resumes afterwards; pauses when headphones disconnect.
• Picks up where you stopped, down to the paragraph.
• Speeds 0.8x, 0.9x and 1.0x.
• Dark mode by default, light mode available. iPhone and iPad.

TRANSLATIONS
• English: Berean Standard Bible (BSB)
• Chinese: Chinese Union Version with New Punctuation, Simplified and Traditional (新标点和合本 / 新標點和合本)
All texts are public-domain read-aloud editions from eBible.org.

WHAT WE DON'T DO
No community feed, no streaks, no AI chat, no in-app purchases. Just Scripture, read quietly at night.

ABOUT THE VOICE
Narration uses the voices built into iOS. For the most natural sound, download an Enhanced or Premium voice in Settings › Accessibility › Spoken Content › Voices. The app tells you when only a basic voice is installed.

PRIVACY
Restful Scripture collects no data. Your reading position and settings stay on your device.
