### 2/5 — Needs update

*2018-03-23*

Sorry but the heimlich manoeuvre is no longer recommended or taught for choking

### 2/5 — Not much help

*2016-02-03*

Just soundless videos. That mAy be all you need but I was looking for more. I seem to be in the minority.

### 1/5 — Pretty inadequate

*2013-01-12*

I doubt this adheres to current aha standards. The demonstrators in the video forgot a pretty important step at the very beginning, they didn't check for a pulse before initiating CPR. They just checked for a response from the victim. They also demonstrated the use of mouth to mouth for breathing which puts the rescuer at danger of being exposed to pathogens and other nasty stuff the victim may have.

### 1/5 — Not good.

*2012-11-03*

Used it once. It played a video for CPR. Then the second time I went to it to show a friend, in case I needed CPR, it went to a black blank screen. Not very good. Too bad.

### 1/5 — Hope no one dies

*2012-08-19, version 2.0.0*

Every time I choose the CPR menu option, the app crashes.
Hope nobody dies from this.

### 1/5 — Bad

*2012-04-09*

It's bad and has nothing special, there are only two very short videos

### 2/5 — CPR

*2011-09-13, version 1.2.0*

I cannot get any sound at all?

### 2/5 — Not working yet

*2010-08-14*

Great areas for review, but the videos are not playing. CPR is needed for this app and more testing before release

### 2/5 — Almost there

*2010-07-25*

The one problem I have with this is the CPR. I was so disappointed I didn't continue on.
3 things are most important, ABC's
Airway- is it open or occluded?
Breathing - Are they breathing?
Circulation - do they have a pulse... Checked at the carotid artery. Something this application totally missed. Would you start compressions on a person with a pulse. Children less the 50. The rest of the video was ok. Pulse means the heart is pumping. Support breathing. ABC's are the key. Basic BLS

### 1/5 — Bad Video

*2010-04-07, version 0*

Program loaded fine but videos did not work.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Doesn’t work

It used to be a nice app, but was last updated 8 years ago and the videos don’t work. 😔

### 1/5 — WARNING

*2026-02-21*

WARNING DO NOT DOWNLOAD!!! THE APP USES VIDEOS TO AID IN AN EMERGENCY THAT GO TO BLACK

### 1/5 — No longer works

*2026-01-27*

### 1/5 — Broken

### 1/5 — Sound doesn’t work

*2024-03-05*

Sound doesn’t work

### 1/5 — Missing multiple important steps

*2020-05-22*

I downloaded this for practice untill I noticed that it was missing steps

### 1/5 — No iOS 11, stopped working

*2017-10-05*

No iOS 11 compatibility, stopped working

its dead Jim...!

### 1/5 — Resuscitate

*2014-06-07*

Dangerous app. After opening two times the app then fails to work ! Just a blank screen appears on third attempt. I reinstalled this app to make sure and it repeated the fail on the third attempt to open it. Can you imagine it happening when it's an emergency ??!! Find another one that works !

### 1/5 — Disappointing.

*2013-11-10*

5* for the concept but 1* for content and performance. Definitely not European guidelines. No breathing check, insufficient info on performing CPR, no back slaps for choking, LONG delays when using AED . . . App deleted.

### 1/5 — Useless

*2013-05-29*

Why put out junk for life saving info? Where is unconscious croaking or algorithms? Info is lacking many steps, like checking scene. Shame on you

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Love

*2015-09-24*

Thank you for creating this app!!

### 5/5 — very helpful

*2014-02-24*

this is so good for amateurs

### 5/5 — RN-Community Educator

*2013-12-05*

This video is helpful for the LAY rescuer. The AHA standards for Lay Rescuers (i.e. Family and Friends CPR) does *not* inculde pulse checks. This is a decent app.....it is not intended for medical professionals and should not be held to that standard. As for Mouth to Mouth, that is optional for adults and is recommeded for infants and children.

### 5/5 — Helpful for lay rescuers

*2013-01-16*

This app is very helpful for lay rescuers. I am AHA certified instructor for over 20 years. I frequently teach Family and Friends CPR. I always show this this app at the end of class and recommend they download it for backup in case of emergency. To address a previous comment. The only rescuers who perform pulse checks are medical professionals. That component was removed for the lay rescuers many years ago. As for mouth to mouth, if one is performing on a family member they usually are not uncomfortable using that method. On older children and adults "Hands Only" is perfectly acceptable.

### 5/5 — CPR/Choking App

*2012-06-15, version 1.2.0*

Great app and does use the latest AHA guidelines.

### 5/5 — CPR & Choking for IPAD

*2011-01-03, version 1.1.2*

Excellent app as a mindjogger and teaching aid

### 4/5 — Great for non-professionals

*2013-07-23*

To address a previous comment ... ALGORITHMS ... Really?! How is the average person having a picnic at the park supposed to diagnosis & treat that?!? I'm almost positive this app is NOT intended for cardiologists or the nursing staff of the cardiac wing at a hospital! It's irresponsible jabs that bring down GOOD apps b/c people see a low rating and skip over a very nice app for something else!

### 4/5 — Very nice

*2011-03-11, version 1.2.0*

Informative, but not overwhelming. Video to guide the caregiver.
Thank you!

### 3/5 — Compatibility issues

*2017-10-07*

Not compatible with iOS 11

### 3/5 — ER nurse

*2011-07-22*

I work in the ED and actually am PALS, ACLS, CPR certified. These videos are pretty good. This info can be very informative to non medical people, one can for sure start compressions until help arrives.
I would give this app 5 stars if it had audio. Maybe its just a mishap with download, dont know.
Please fix!
