### 4/5 — Interesting

A little hard to navigate and compare different scenarios

**Developer response:** Thank you for the review. Navigating between scenarios and comparing them is fair feedback and it is something I want to get right. If you have a few minutes to tell me what you were working on and where it slowed you down, I would appreciate it. support@retiresmartira.com comes straight to me.

### 4/5 — I love this App!

I would love it one star more, if it printed reports!
Great app!

**Developer response:** Thank you, Dr. Williams! Did you know the Tax Summary screen already generates a PDF you can print or share? More reports are on our roadmap — we'd love to know which one would be most valuable to you. Visit retiresmartira.com/support to share your suggestions!

### 5/5 — Detailed annual retirement contribution and tax decisions!

*2026-05-04*

Finally an app that helps you make detailed annual retirement contribution and tax decisions. I’ve used several other apps, always looking for something that would give me the annual big picture information I needed to make my annual decisions are IRAs, Roth Conversions, Estimated Taxes, etc in one place, not spread across multiple apps and screens.

I’m in my early 60s and married. I’ve used, and very much appreciate, tools like Boldin (New Retirement) that really help with long term retirement planning, but leave a bit of hole when trying to see the impact of competing financial decisions for a single year. The app uses sliders and graphs to help see benefits and tradeoffs of different amounts of contributions, conversions, and withdrawals as it relates to taxes. The Analysis section is detailed with good tips and detailed info. Very happy to find this app.

Developer is active and responsive to feedback.

**Developer response:** Thank you RP or taking the time to write this — and especially for naming the gap so precisely. You've described the design intent better than my own marketing copy: long-term planners like Boldin show you the multi-decade picture, but leave you stuck when you sit down in March needing to decide this year's Roth conversion, this year's QCD, this year's estimated tax payments.

Please continue to share your input and critical analysis to help make RetireSmartIRA better. Reviews like this and direct feedback to retiresmartira@gmail.com genuinely shape the roadmap.

### 5/5 — Just in Time!

*2026-05-02*

This app came along “just in time” for me. I was wrestling with some of the same questions it’s designed to answer —how to avoid tax bracket changes and Medicare surcharges while maximizing 401K and RMD withdrawals. It’s very comprehensive and easy to use. I love the scenario feature and the ability to see all the impacts and sources quickly. It even helped identify a flaw in a homemade spreadsheet I had made for the same questions. Thank you!

**Developer response:** Thank you Kaveat Emptor. I am so pleased you quickly found value and are now diving into scenarios to uncover more. Your input is invaluable to me, please don’t hesitate to reach out to me with any issues or opportunities RetireSmartIRA should address. Mt support email is retiresmartira@gmail.com. Thank you again and best regards - John

### 5/5 — Just what I needed!

*2026-04-21*

This app is terrific. Gave me insights and guidance I would not have clued into anywhere else. Best tool I have in the toolbox for retirement planning. Thank you!

**Developer response:** Thank you, GregorJames. “Best tool in the toolbox” is high praise — and it captures exactly what I wanted this to be: a focused, specific tool that sits alongside whatever else you’re using. If features or scenarios come up that would make it more useful, please let me know at retiresmartira@gmail.com.

### 5/5 — Outstanding RMD Planning Tool!

*2026-04-20*

On my 68th birthday, I began to consider the complex question of how to plan for the Required Minimum Distributions (RMDs) which take effect when I turn 73. Having spent my entire career in the corporate world, nearly all of my savings are from my 401(k) and a lump sum pension; these have been rolled into IRAs and are subject to RMDs. The RetireSmartIRA app is an easy-to-use tool which enabled scenario modeling to quickly assess the benefit of Roth conversions to reduce the impact of the RMDs. In only 30 minutes, I modeled several scenarios and had answers to my questions! The app is very comprehensive and I highly recommend it for anyone who would like to develop a strategy to minimize the impact of RMDs and future tax payments.

**Developer response:** Thank you, BGK58 — this review made my day. Your situation (career in corporate, 401(k) rollovers, planning ahead at 68 for RMDs at 73) is exactly the scenario I had in mind when I built this. If anything’s missing as you work through different conversion strategies, I’d genuinely want to hear about it at retiresmartira@gmail.com.
